Gamo Maxima Whisper Fusion Air Rifle

I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, but after reading the one relatively negative review on the Gamo Maxima Whisper in PA, I'd like to weigh in. I very much like the quality of this air gun. I've had it for about a year now. The break barrel requires a bit of effort, but that goes for any break barrel. The accuracy is spot on. I first sighted in the open sights. The fiber optic open sights are clear. The windage was fine from the factory. I had to adjust the elevation only slightly. I'm hitting half-inch groups at 20 yards reliably. The included scope has great clarity, and I'm happy with it. It has a good kick, and very quiet for backyard shooting. The wood stock is high quality, and I like the checkering. It provides a good grip.

Overall, I can't think of anything I would like changed.

The gun was well made.

Accuracy... using the gun sights alone, not the scope it came with... I found the gun to be very inaccurate. My brother, also shot the gun and had the same problem. Being former U.S. Army riflemen it was disappointing to have such a nicely made gun preform so badly. I will be returning the rifle to purchase another from Pyramyd Air... hopefully this time a better more accurate rifle.

Yes, really research the rifle before you purchase. That is not to say that I did not look into the history of this gun. I did! However, You can not always take information you are give as the honest truth.This was my first purchase of an Air rifle and frankly, I made the mistake of believing the adds and the videos about the rifle. I should have taken them with a grain of salt. This was not a cheap air gun, but it did not preform as well as it should for the money spent.
