When selecting the right air gun ammo, it is important to purchase ammo tailored for your air gun. To figure out which ammo is going to be best for your air gun, you want to make sure you look at two things: velocity and weight.

Think about the power of the air gun. The more powerful it is, it will be able to handle heavier ammunition. If the air gun has lower power, then it would need a lighter ammo. The air gun also determines the type of air gun ammo you use. Pellets are used for air rifles or pistols that are designed to shoot pellets, whereas bbs are the second most popular ammunition.

Pellet weight can also vary from 5 grains all the way up to 4 or even more ounces, so you need to make sure that whatever air gun you have, can use that specific air gun ammo. If it's too heavy or light, then the air gun won't be able to shoot it properly.
