In general I think this is an excellent product. The accuracy is quite good. My eyesight is an issue using iron sights but I have added a Vortec Red Dot sight. There is an excellent adapter that fits perfectly the 1911 frame. And with the red dot, I have an excellent 1911 replica to practice with. If I were to buy a 1911 pistol, I definitely would equip it that just as I have this pellet gun. Prior to buying this gun, I bought a 1911 replica, blow back BB gun. Since I have this gun I have not even been tempted to use the BB 1911.
Things I Would Have ChangedMore powerful would be nice so I could practice shooting at longer distances, like 50 yards.
I like the accuracy and feel of the pistol. Would recommend it to friends and family. Fun gun.
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should KnowVery accurate and great replica
This is a hard pistol not to like. Others have called out much what I would have to say. All metal construction, subdued white print (not obnoxious), rubberized grips for great hold feeling, not bad trigger pull, shipped with a very nice storage case, realistic weight and feel, easy loading (uses my Desert Eagle magazines), a pleasure to use,.
Things I Would Have ChangedSights are not great, like most 1911s...needs 'white dot' markings. C02 piercing mechanism is unusual and takes some getting used to. Accuracy is not great for some reason.
What Others Should KnowThis 1911 is a great replica, except for non-blowback but you won't mind due to the feel and performance. I was very pleased with the power exceeding specs. Using my FX Radar Chrony, this pellet pistol delivered an average of 437 fps, with a high velocity of 456 and a lo velocity of 423 fps, SD was 10.57. Energy delivered averaged 3,.0 fpe with an SD of 0.111. Performance was very good in pellet velocity and energy delivered to the target but I had a real problem is keeping the pellets inside a 2 inch bullseye from more than 15 feet away using 6 o'clock hold. I consider this 1911 non-blowback pistol to be a real performer. However, this is a brand new pistol and accuracy is not great but hopefully, it will improve with some break-in. I consider this 1911 a great addition to my 1911 collection. If you are a collector, this one is well worth the investment for the fun value alone.
Size and weight are just like the real thing. Feels good in the hand.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger pull is rough, not smooth at all!! The slide to close the loading gap doesn't close properly. Needs help. The grip safety is rough and not right.
What Others Should KnowThe Beretta M-92 is a better choice.
The pistol came in it's own plastic box! I've purchased real handguns before that only came in a cardboard box. The heft of the gun is nice and solid. No rattles. It's cold here so I've only shot enough pellets to expend one cartridge. I found the gun to be pretty accurate at 6 yards using a 6 o'clock hold. The gun is fun to shoot. The best advice I can give you is to shoot it in single action only.
Things I Would Have ChangedFit and finish definitely need work. Comparing this pistol to my $50 1911 air soft the Umarex surely disappoints. The trigger in double action is terrible. Part of the reason for that is the tolerance on either side of the trigger. It's unequal. On one side there's space for the trigger's movement while the other side is much too tight such that there's metal to metal grinding every time the trigger is cocked. Hence, shooting in double action is much hampered by the lack of clearance. The other thing is that there are some very sharp edges on the backstrap. Hek,even my $50 air soft has beveled edges! When all is said and done it's a neat gun, but seriously overpriced. Think long and hard to make sure you're willing to accept some inferior workmanship. Also, be aware that this is not a blowback gun. The gun must either be manually cocked or shot in double action.
What Others Should KnowI can't overemphasize the price of this gun when compared to my $50 air soft (which is a blowback gun, BTW). The other little thing I noticed is that when you go to remove the pellet cartridge it can fall to the ground pretty easy so be careful when switching out cartridges. It also takes a little practice getting those tiny cartridges to seat in the action so that you can close the barrel.
This gun brings back great memories. I carried a Colt 1911 45ACP when attached to the Marine Corps in 1969-1972. This gun is EXACTLY like it. Handles very well, weighs exactly the same and is just a great piece. Love it!
Things I Would Have ChangedI wouldn't change anything about this gun.
What Others Should KnowThe original 1911 was designed for close combat, it gets a little tough when shooting more than 50 yards, but a great plinker with very good velocity.
I received my new Colt 1911 A1 the day before yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised, as the predicted day of receipt wasn't January 5th. The order was received complete and in good order. After a careful inspection, it was time to shoot. BULLSEYE, right out of the box at 30 ft! All my shots were within a 2" diameter just at 4 o'clock on the bullseye. Oh well, tomorrow's another day . . . bullseye all! There were a few misfires, but most likely because I didn't have the safety properly disengaged. I got 36 shots from my initial CO2 cartridge. The trigger pull is moderate and smooth. The fit, finish, and balance of this pistol is perfect to me.
Things I Would Have ChangedThis isn't really a necessity, but it would be nice if the slide would remain open when the last shot is fired.
What Others Should KnowThis is a weighty pistol, perhaps best suited for someone with fairly large hands and the weight will require a fair amount strength to shoot all afternoon. This is a quality airgun that I hope to pass on to my sons and grandsons.
Well this gun appears to need a little time to war in, so don't be too hasty to judge. Mine took a bit of patience and shooting, and also finding the right pellet (it's picky about those) but now it's a monster. I finally invested in a Chrono and the first 8 shots using H&N Terminator pellets on a fresh co2 charge are as follows (ambient temp 81 deg): 1 - 469fps 2 - 459fps 3 - 454fps 4 - 448fps 5 - 440fps 6 - 433fps 7 - 433fps (dup) 8 - the advertised maximum of 425fps. This test was done single-action with only about 5s between shots. Let the co2 warm back up and power jumps right back to well above spec for another 10-15 shots before co2 loss causes the speeds to drop steadily from that point. The Terminator is a 7.25 grain lead "hollowpoint" pellet that is of the usual H&N quality but otherwise nothing special. No light alloys used or anything like that. I usually get 50-60 usable shots per charge.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing. This gun is collection quality, shoots accurately and is powerful. The design is ingenious, plus it looks and feels identical to it's big brother and inspiration right down to dual working safeties. I don't care for blowback in an airgun, all it does is cost fps. I am thrilled that this does not have it.
What Others Should KnowBuy one. My experience tells me you won't regret it. This gun is right up there with the best firearm handguns in terms of build quality imo.
Great gun, very accurate. Full metal design with real pistol weight, feel and looks
Things I Would Have Changedwish it was like the gas blow back BB version for full realism however you'd probably waste a lot of energy (fps).
What Others Should Knowwhen you receive this item, make sure to tighten your rear sight as mine arrived loose and i didn't notice until i wasn't hitting the target anymore. 2, 8 round magazines are included as well as a case and small multi-tool for making adjustments.

the feel, looks, and operation of the gun in general
Things I Would Have Changedaccuracy (perhaps)
What Others Should KnowI shot 7 different pellets, 16 rounds each (outdoors) and all shot about the same "3 inches high" off of a rest at 30 feet. Quite a few shots were close or in the 1 or 2 inch center rings. So, don't know if the results were due to my 77 year old eyesight, unsteady hands or perhaps this is just how the gun shoots? Anyway, I am happy with the pistol. Didn't have any misfires and I changes the co2 cartridge after every 32 rounds (maybe could of gone thru more rounds per each cylinder, but chose 32 because of the 8 round clips (or, whatever they are called)! The handle safety is ok, once you get used to the amount of pressure required for its' release. Would of liked some "white dots" on the sights (because of my old eyes)-I will probably put some sort of florescent paint on the front blade and see if that helps. And, I will try shooting at closer ranges to see if the results improve!
