Description
The Umarex Gauntlet SL PCP Air Rifle is the eagerly-anticipated updated side lever version of the airgun that helped set a new standard for affordable accuracy and power. This model has the necessary power for pest control and small game hunting.
The improvement shooters will appreciate the most is the larger air tank, with 24 cubic inches of volume, and higher fill and regulator pressure. These increases lead to more shots and more power compared to the older model.
The new sidelever action features a large knurled handle with and makes cocking easier than ever! The all-weather synthetic stock has been redesigned to make it lighter and more compact. Despite the added power and shots, the air rifle is now quieter when shooting due to a four baffle design that reduces the sound of a shot by 8 dB over the original Gauntlet.
For adding a scope, the Gauntlet SL features a picatinny optics rail, and there are also M-LOK slots on both sides and the bottom of the forearm for mounting accessories such as lights, lasers, and bipods. To get an air rifle that provides ample power and accuracy for small-game hunting and pest control while remaining surprisingly budget-friendly, buy an Umarex Gauntlet SL PCP Air Rifle today at Pyramyd AIR.

I love everything about my gauntlet SL 25 so far. This bad boy is solid and very powerful! A BEAST! As soon as i get more time outside, ill back and add anything if i feel something should be reported.
Things I Would Have ChangedAs far as changing anything? not really anything i can think of just yet.
What Others Should KnowAlways go for the 10 for $10 test certificate it's good to have. -10 shots -Avg 1021 FPS -Avg FPE 45.9ish -19.91GR Pellets -H&N baracuda green
I got the Umarex gauntlet gen 2 SL30 that I've been watching YouTube reviews and reading articles about on the net. I highly suggest buying from Pyramid Air with all the services offered that you can purchase from them such as the two year services contract for $44 by which protects your investment far past the 3 year warranty that it comes with, 10 for $10 services which a Pyramid Air tech will pump up your pcp air rifle to make sure there are no visible leaks and all works as it should as well as shoot your air rifle 10 times making sure that it shoots. Lastly the $10 - 24 hour leak test. This is a very important test in my opinion which makes sure you don't get a lemon and have to send it straight back for repair or replacement. Shipping was very fast and arrived two days after shipping. I highly recommend Pyramid Air and ALL the extra services offered. It's a added insurance policy so to speak that you'll definitely be happy with.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing. Perfect out of the box. I've yet to shoot it due to snow but from what I see and feel the Umerx Gauntlet gen 2 SL30 is a beast made extremely well and solid. Maybe add an adjustable regulator would be great. Also perhaps Umarex could come out with a Gauntlet gen 3 in 35 cal which I believe there is a real market for seeings in most states in the US allow deer hunting with a 35 cal or larger. I really think that the Gauntlet with a little larger air valve for more air pushing a 35 cal 88 to 108 grain slug , adjustable regulator from 2,100 - 3,000 PSI and maybe a heavier hammer spring in 35 cal would be a real beast on deer sized game pcp air rifle and an amazing addition to the Gauntlet series.
What Others Should KnowBuy a 4,500 PSI electric pcp air pump straight out. I thought I could pump my Gauntlet up with a 4,500 PSI max with a hand pump and though I did get the 393cc tank past 4,000 PSI I can't see hand pumping it then shooting only to spend a hour and a half two hours hand pumping it up again just to shoot 25 rounds in less than five minutes then another hour and a half two hours pumping it back up again. Doing so would only take the pleasure out of shooting this beautiful pcp. Do yourself a favor and get yourself an electric pcp air pump. You'll thank yourself later. Lol.
It is a powerful and affordable gun built good also like the side lever
Things I Would Have ChangedThe stock is ugly make the gun a little shorter
What Others Should Knowif your thinking about a pcp gun this will work fine enjoy it
Would be nice if it worked.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake it hold air.
What Others Should Know2/3 pcp rifles bought here have leaks that need to be handled by the manufacturers. Really need an extended return window for crappy products. Umarex never replied, so I tore the thing apart. Shouldn't have had to do that to get it to work for a 2nd fill-up.
Price point, power, Easy loading and shooting
Things I Would Have ChangedAdd more barrel support, better quality regulators
What Others Should KnowThis thing is heavy you will most likely be shooting off a bench or off a bipod to shoot accurately, also invest in a cheap air compressor. For my first big bore airgun it's not a bad deal, accurate to 100 yards or more depending on your ability and setup. I got this with the sole purpose of predator hunting with. After running the numbers I can say this will kill a coyote out to 200 yards with a well placed shot but that level of accuracy is difficult to maintain without modding. If you're looking a predator or hog gun that will cover 100 yards or less this will do so with little to no issue, use a moderator cause this is about as loud as a 22 magnum rifle.
All is OK so far. Paid for the 10 for 10 and the 24 hr. leak test , and that's working out satisfactorily. Mounted a 3x9 bug buster scope and just got a BuckRail suppressor. Cuts down the noise and air blast, 30 cal. afterall, a fair amount, but needs more suppressor volume. At least now I can get the scope zeroed up a bit. A work in progress but happy enough at this point. It is a BIG and HEAVY rifle as was expected. Now to work on noise and accuracy.
Things I Would Have ChangedNot much at this point.
What Others Should KnowDon't know about the accuracy. Expect big, heavy, and noisey in 30 cal. Still like it a lot.
I liked the price for a 30 cal. airgun. Regulated and with a side lever. Haven't done much yet as it is quite loud. Looking for a suppressor. Shot off 3 shots indoors into a trap and it blew papers all over the place. Seemed to cycle well. Paid for the extra leak test and it holds air so far. Looking forward to sighting it in after attaching a scope and getting a suppressor. Good so far.
Things I Would Have ChangedToo early to say much. It would be nice if it was a bit quieter. It's very large and heavy, all to be expected for what it is.
What Others Should KnowI'm ordering a BuckRail suppressor as a starter, not expecting total quiet, and will go from there. Will end up needing something really big to be backyard friendly.
For the money, everything as it's a real value for a big bore air rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedAt the price point, physically not much... I would say tighter QC could and should be managed. However all the popular "budget" rifles are very likely produced in the same factory in you know where so is what it is. Overall I don't have much to gripe about.
What Others Should KnowFor becoming indoctrinated into the big bore game I'd say the gauntlet is the ticket, hard to beat. I like to tinker and make my guns smoother than the factory delivers and this rifle is no exception out of the box. With knowledge and mechanical abilities the budget PCP guns can be made into some VERY nice and respectable rifles. It shot great before, but now it's a one hole death star from 50 yards with 44.75gr JSB's. The power output from this gun is absolutely incredible as is the accuracy and I cannot wait to get my Griffin slugs! My main goal was to build a dedicated yote platform and I have decided the gauntlet without a doubt is going to be a coyote hammer. Overall, exceptional package for the price and hard to beat! Grab one, spruce it up and sling some lead! Oh, you'll 100% need a moderator for taming this beast, not backyard friendly in any way and have a good backstop or pellet trap. 100+ ftlbs of energy is not a joke and should be respected.

I've finally put about 200 shots through this gun and used a better chronograph. In a string of 10 shots using my Caldwell true ballistics chronograph I got a low of 876 and a high of 882 with Duplicates at 879 and 880 a few times. This is using JSB 25.39 shallow Monster Redesigns. Accuracy at 25yds is phenomenal I had 2 5 shot groups smaller than a dime The really small cheap chrongraph from Amazon was showing anywhere from 826-850 fps now I know it's way off and I need to retune all my other guns. Mine is a .22 btw. So about 43.5 ft lbs with a .22 is pretty nice IMO. It's not loud and operates very smoothly too. I'm very surprised how docile it feels for the amount of power it makes. I really like this gun a lot.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowMake sure the Allen head screw for bleeding the air is tight before you first fill it. Mine came in the box loose and had me worried at first that my gun leaked but it doesn't that screw being loose was all it was.
