I have upwards of 20 or more SOG knives. Some collector, some used, some used hard. I never have had one that didn't perform how it should. I own dozen of knives and SOG is my favorite brand. This one is no exception. Razor sharp out of the box. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this knife at the Grafenwoehr Germany PX. I believe it was around 1999/2000 time frame. It stayed on my Army LBV until I retired in 2012. It is still serving me well in the field and on the waters. Great blade and a very good investment in this tool.

I Live in Africa and this knife is a beast! In Africa I didn't have any way to sharpen my knives and this knife lasted a year or more without being sharpened and being used daily. I have used this knife for just about everything under the sun. I have cleared land for construction, split wood, chopped down small trees, I have used it as a pry bar to pry things using as much weight as I want because I know it will never break, used it as an EDC, scraped paint off of cement walls, carved detailed carvings, done woodworking with it on some wood that is so dense that it will sink in water, chopped bamboo, cut rope, and done just about everything except fight with it. This knife has held up throughout all this and is still going strong! If I was to change some things they would be the sheath and the serrated edge. the sheath is awesome! I have had only one problem with it, the Velcro will not always hold the knife in place and it will fall down to the extended position. The other thing with the velcro is if it is in the extended position it will rub against your cloths fraying them. I have found a simple solution for this problem. That is to rap the velcro in some tape and it has been working great for me since! The serrated edge is awesome for what it is! It has held up to being used as my only saw for around 3 years, and is still there and haven't had anything chip or break on it. My problem is that I can't sharpen it on a flat surface like a sharpening stone or a letter strop. I need a whole different tool to sharpen it. But as for the serrated edge it's self it is awesome! It is strong and durable and great! If someone is wanting to use it and will in the future sharpen it I would recommend a strait edge on it for simplicity and it gives a little more usable cutting edge. But if you like having a saw on the knife and don't mind needing to have a different tool to sharpen it, this serrated edge will never break on you. I have used this section of the blade as my main copping section of the knife, (something I do almost daily) and it has never been damaged! The knife also dose rust a little bit if left without oil. In Africa we get rain storms that are bigger than anything in Liberia and afterwords I would need to dry and oil my knife and it would be fine. If I forgot it did get surface rust but I could easily rub all of it off within a minute. If you want a knife that looks great and will never be damaged this knife is for you! I wouldn't recommend going without sharpening this knife but it will still work but becomes dull after a while of very hard use. Yet it will still work and cut and be a knife. If you want one knife that you can bet your life on this would be it. I think you could run this knife over with a tank and turn around and it would be perfectly fine afterwords. GREAT KNIFE!!!
