The Smith & Wesson M29 CO2 BB Revolver is an airgun replica version of the popular .44 Magnum Model 29 gun used by the famous police inspector from the movie series. Capable of velocities up to 415 FPS, it features close attention to detail and authentic feel and operation, making it ideal for hours of backyard plinking fun.
This airgun revolver uses one 12-gram CO2 cartridge to yield over 80 shots. First, load the BBs into the cartridges and then into the realistic swing-out cylinder, and then enjoy the functioning ejector as the gun shoots and the cylinder rotates. The double-action/single-action modes of operation combine with the looks of the airgun to enhance the experience.
The frame is all-metal and uses a black electroplated finish to look as close as possible to the actual firearm it's based on, with a textured grip for a stable hold, with faux wood grain and the familiar diamond shape near the middle. The frame, grips, and other details such as the licensed markings mean that it requires a close look to determine it's an airgun and not the original handgun.
For accurate aiming, this BB revolver includes a fixed front blade sight with a bright color on part of it, plus a rear notch sight, both of which can be found on the firearm version as well. What others should know:Not the biggest fan of this gun. It has a very heavy trigger pull and mine came with scratches. The outside is just paint. Though it still looks nice the practicality is not there and I just got a bad deal with the paint. Very nice and heavy though.

Will this be available in the US in 6-1/2" barrel like the actual model used in the movie? Why is the 6-1/2 only available in Europe? Makes no sense.
Why aren't the other barrel lengths marketed in Europe offered here? I bought one of the 83/8. Versions, and it is an accurate well made replica. The barrel length is not my first choice. I would have preferred the 6 1/2 and the shorter 3 1/2. Maybe Pyramid could obtain barrels and offer custom lengths like they did with the Peacemakers.

Pretty much everything. The design and manufacture are spot on. I have the actual S&W Model 29 version and it is close enough to use as a display in a safe manner. I don't plan to shoot it so I won't rate its accuracy.
Things I would have changed:Only that I wish Umarex would sell the 6.5" barrel of the actual Dirty Harry gun in the US. Why is it only available in the UK and Canada? Otherwise (aside from the plastic "screw" in the stocks), I have no complaints.
What others should know:As the proud owner of more than one actual S&W .44 mag Model 29s, I was so impressed with this version! Authentic in not only look and feel, but overall, right down to the action, this is a beautiful piece of work. Heck, I might have foregone the cost of a couple of the real deals for a couple of these. I'm going to use it as a display piece so as not to have to display the real ones with trigger locks. Gorgeous job, Umarex. I just wish they would sell the 6.5" barrel (THE Dirty Harry gun) in the US instead of just the UK/Canada. Licensing issues , I guess?
