Description
The Quiet Energy Series (QE) models feature an integrated Sound Moderator in the muzzle break and are fully shrouded. Expect up to a 50% reduction in down-range noise when choosing the upgraded QE version!
The Hatsan 95 has proven itself over the years, and they've now kicked it up a notch by inserting a Vortex gas piston to replace the coiled metal mainspring. If you've shot spring-piston guns before, you're in for a treat when you pull the trigger on this model!
If you enjoy hunting or pest elimination, or you're just waiting for that squirrel to pop up his head one more time in your vegetable garden, then the Vortex 95 is the rifle for you. Sometimes, you have to leave your rifle cocked for a few minutes as you wait for the right opportunity to appear. You shouldn't do that with a gun that has a coiled metal spring, as the spring will deteriorate whenever the gun is cocked for an extended period of time. But, you can do that all the time with your 95 equipped with a Vortex gas piston!

10 of 160 Hatsan 95 Combo Vortex Reviews
It's a powerful, blued gas piston air rifle with decent iron sights and an actual walnut stock that's priced very well and is plenty accurate. It's not made in China like so many of its competitors are.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wouldn't include the cheap, useless scope. Also the integral can on the QE version needs a more efficient baffle stack, but those are readily available on the aftermarket.
What Others Should KnowI got the .22 QE version on sale. I didn't even bother mounting the cheesy, cheap scope it came with. Utter garbage. My kids use it for bird watching. I got a Hawke 2-7 x 32 AO scope with a 1 PC mount and it seems to be a good match. My example seems to prefer heavier pellets. The Crosman Premier Domed Ultra heavy 19gr and Polymag 16gr get the best groups so far. There was a fair amount of dieseling for the first hundred or so shots, but it calmed down and the rifle is breaking in nicely. What more could you ask for for $175? We'll see how it holds up but it seems perfectly decent so far.
This is a good-looking and accurate rifle. I'm very pleased with this purchase considering the $125 price tag. I have about 100 shots through this gun and I am consistently hitting the head of a "life-sized" mouse plinking target from 20 yards (shooting from a bench with a cheap BSA red dot scope). I am not an expert shooter by any means and I can stack five shots in about the size of a quarter at 20 yards - and I feel like the limiting factor is the size of the red dot in my scope rather than the rifle itself.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rifle had an issue straight out of the box where the safety wasn't always disengaging when I pushed it off - in which case I would have to re-engage the safety and then push it back in for the rifle to fire. This would have been a bigger deal if this occurred while trying to hunt, but for me it was only an issue while sighting the gun in, and I believe I fixed the issue by adjusting the trigger very slightly. Also, the finish on the stock isn't very durable as I have only used it for an hour or so in my backyard and there are already a few scratches. I haven't gotten around to hitting it with my paste wax that I use for these sorts of things but I'm assuming that this will hide the scratches and provide another layer of protection so it's not a huge deal.
What Others Should KnowTo fix the sticky safety issue I had chatGPT perform a search of all mentions of this issue, and it recommended turning trigger adjuster #1 (screw closest to the muzzle / sets the initial depth of sear engagement) counter-clockwise just a tiny bit. I probably dialed it out 1/8 of a turn. I also turned trigger adjuster #2 (middle screw / sets the point at which 2nd stage engages) clockwise about 1/4 of a turn based on the manufacturers recommendation for a gun that does not fire. I won't pretend to know why making these adjustments fixed the issue, but I will say that the trigger feels better than it did before, and I haven't had the sticky safety issue again since making these adjustments. This is my first airgun, so I don't have much of a reference, but I would agree that the non-QE version of this rifle is medium-loud. Certainly no louder than a nail gun, and my wife says she doesn't notice it from inside the house, but it's definitely louder than a red rider BB gun haha!
Great look love the wood shoots great right out the box less than 10 shots had the scope dialed in put a 3-9x40 and it holds zero real well great gun for the money I have the 22 and 25 version I would recommend this gun
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
Appears to be well made, shoots accurately with open sights. Like the quality and price!
Things I Would Have ChangedChange to better scope, scope shot well in beginning. Now that I have shot 600 pellets it constantly looses zero and is off about six inches from 45 yards away. I will zero in be on target for a five or six shots then it goes off target again. Like the rifle hate the scope. I wonder if the more expensive pellet rifle scope combos have cheap scope also?
Price, power, not a toy, hits hard, precise out of the box with open sights, wooden stock has a nice feeling to it, is heavy but it inspire confidence, the sound when pellets impact the target is very satisfying.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowI have to learn how to zero a scope.
Nice inexpensive gun. Good weight to it.
Things I Would Have ChangedHave not fired it enough to judge.
What Others Should KnowIt arrived with wear and tear on the safety switch. Not sure if this was due to the chronograph testing I had ordered, a used refurbished gun sent, or just an oversight in quality control by Hatsan and/or Pryamid. I reached out to Pyramid and all they said is they would pass on my issue to Hatsan. So there ya go. Full disclosure, I did not request a refund or exchange but simply wanted to make the company aware. This post here is for other customers.......inspect your purchases thoroughly. Things happen sometimes.
Accurate, nice walnut stock
Things I Would Have ChangedSome type of sling mounting points. Has some weight but that doesn't bother me, may bother others.
What Others Should KnowVery accurate, nice build, small game doesn't stand a chance. Don't hesitate to buy.
Needed to replace rifle for manufacture defecft. its already on its way back in less than a week, customer service here is amazing. Nice rifle as well. checks all the boxes for me (25) cal.
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should Knowreturns are super easy with these guys, dont want to shop anywhere else.
Had to send this one back to be replaced it had issues with barrel alignment when cocked.. online support at Pyramyd Air had an RMA # and a shipping label for me within 5 minutes. So very pleased with their customer support! Really like this gun, light and powerful hopefully the replacement will be straight.
Things I Would Have Changedlose the scope and take the price off of the cost
What Others Should KnowI like the rifle, it was very easy to shoot and accurate.

The stock on mine is amazing. I find the cocking not hard at all. The accuracy is pretty good, I have the .25 caliber. The scope is a little cheap, site picture is bad, but it does hold zero so far (I think the scope stop is helping).
Things I Would Have Changedthere were some pings and pongs as the piston settled in but that might just be mine. It might just be the pins getting seated correctly, this piston has some slam. I would have only included a better scope or none at all and pass on the savings.
What Others Should KnowThis baby hits hard so be careful and use all safety precautions.
