Gletcher APS Metal CO2 BB Pistol

Shoots hard ,and is accurate,out to 14 yards.. I get about 120 shots out of a co2 fill. The gun looks good and functions fine. I have put 300 bbs through it without issue. The only complaint I have,is the finish is not great.I have had to touch it up in a few spots. Overall, I like it. It is very good,for a bb pistol.

Better finish,and better rear sight.Otherwise, it is very good.

Performance and design as previously reviewed.

I reviewed this product on 5/18/23 and it was published in the reviews dropdown page online catalog. I added an update on 6/4/23 after customer service dealt with performance issues on the first one by replacing it. Here's another update. The firing pin is loose and can drop out unexpectedly if the barrel is elevated with the hammer back. I don't know if this has always been the case. I will still give this 5 stars overall for the performance and design

Realistic feel, size, weight, etc, plus movable slide; a must-have for replica collectors. Super fun plinking gun; averaging over 120 shots per CO2 cartridge.

There should be a fully automatic option. The APS was a select-fire machine pistol; since this airgun is ultra-realistic, and has a 22 rd magazine, it was a letdown to me that it doesn't have a full auto mode. Would love to also see a removable stock/holster available as an accessory for this airgun.

This is a non-blowback version. Gletcher does make a blockback version, though, if you're looking for that feature.

I selected this Gletcher Stechkin replica to use as a sight picture acquisition / trigger discipline training aid for live fire in my indoor BB range. I like the weight, feel, and balance of the metal construction. Adapting to the thin front sight tower was quick and the exceptional accuracy and powerful impacts exceeded my expectations. The trigger was easy to operate in both DA and SA modes. (I used interior distances of 5, 6, and 7 yards, five shot groups, same as my live fire range powder pistols.) It's great looking and a good value.

The adjustable rear sight could be missing some kind of tension spring to hold it under the rotating stepped drum that determines each elevation setting. Extra magazines should be readily available. One CO2 cartridge can fire over 80 times, so having 4 mags total would enable the "more shooting less reloading" sequence.

I'm having issues with leaking CO2 after 5 CO2 capsules , less than 600 rounds, so I'm relying on Pyramid Air to help resolve that, hence the 4 star overall rating. I will attempt to update this review as it gets worked out.

Amazing BB pistol, like no other; powerful, large frame with good (faux) grips, accurate beyond any BB handgun I've ever fired at 75, even 100ft. More like a fine pellet .177 cal. pneumatic than a "BB gun." This pistol fires in single or double action and it is powerful, accurate and a natural pointer. 80 shots on 1 CO2 12 gr., before significant shot degradation, meaning exceptional evenness over the discharges of the powerplant. Mind you, this was experienced in 40 degree weather using a pocket handwarmer against the grip panel to keep the pressure up! Magazine holds 22 rds and that is fantastic, as in 140 rds I had not 1 misfire, not one 'bb flyer', and not a single failure to feed. That is why this is more like a fine CO2 pellet pistole than a 'bb gun'. Be really clear: Mine is the Non-Blowback version of this pistol. The Blowback gun is a different animal.

The magazine is solid, all metal and as noted above failed NOT ONCE. But it is very cumbersome to load, basically be prepared to place each BB, one at a time into the feed tube. The weapon is very easy to check remaining rds visually, the mag can be popped in and out w/o any loss of rds or anything else, just carry on pulling the trigger for 22 consecutive shots of .177 caliber pleasure. I found the sights vibrate more than I'd like, and the "dovetail" on the front slide is FAUX, therefore, not easily replaced. The rear sight is not refined, more like cheap plastic but, despite this all, I could point and hit a lot that I didn't expect to with a BB gun at pellet pistol distances of 100 and more ft.

I'm so glad I bought this pistol I could just scream "Wow!", and in fact I did, over and over on my one and only session with this handgun. I am looking forward to many more.
