Description
The FX Wildcat MKIII Compact PCP air rifle with synthetic stock continues the revolutionary Wildcat heritage that set the tone for compacts and bullpups. Superficially, this air rifle seems very similar to the Wildcat MKII. In fact, it offers many features FX users already love, like the renowned two-stage adjustable trigger, externally-adjustable AMP regulator, and butter-smooth side cocking lever. However, it also has big new upgrades in store.
In addition to small changes like adding a regulator manometer in the stock to complement the one for the air cylinder, the Wildcat MKIII is now highly-adjustable through the all-new rear power adjuster. The dial has 7 presets for the hammer spring, and further fine-tuning of the tension is accomplished via the Allen wrench hole in the 8th adjuster notch. FX also increased the plenum volume and added larger valves for better airflow and more consistent and powerful shots. This Compact model is almost a pound lighter and almost a foot shorter than the Sniper version, making it more maneuverable and easier to carry around on a long day in the field.
This airgun uses the FX Side-Shot magazine, which offers over double the capacity of the old Wildcat magazine. These new features upgrade the Wildcat MKIII with DNA from the Impact, Dreamline, and Crown lines. As with many other FX rifles, the barrel liners can be swapped out, and the airgun includes FX's new Superior STX liner. Shooters can add additional versatility by switching to a different caliber liner or a Superior STX Heavy liner for heavy slugs. The optics rail has been upgraded from an 11mm dovetail to a Picatinny, and 1/2” UNF threading on the muzzle allows you to add a separate moderator if you choose.
With all of these upgrades, it's clear that FX is pushing the boundaries of airgun manufacturing technology. If you're ready to experience the high-end innovation of the FX Wildcat MKIII Compact PCP air rifle with synthetic stock, get one today at Pyramyd AIR.

10 of 11 FX Wildcat MKIII Compact Air Rifle, Synthetic Stock Reviews
This Air gun is short, lite, accurate and able to adjust in power to meet the needs of your shooting environment or objectives. Using the right suppression device along with a good scope, you have a winner right out of the box barring possible factory quality controls. I have had exceptional results once working out the issue I encountered. This is my second FX and is not my number one toy when it comes to short range (15 30 yards) Pestation (not sure if that is a word) projects. I am sure it can reach out to much further but, I like it quiet and 100 bar on the reg gets 24-26 FPE.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe only concern I will call out is the quality control. Had I not read the user guide, I could have damaged the unit within the first day of ownership. Other than the fore mentioned there is nothing else to change. If you want better, you can go with the Sniper for range or the BT for shot count and more FPE. I think quality validation is an area that need to be worked on. I don't think I am the first person to encounter having a good air gun with a QA check missed
What Others Should KnowThere is not match made in heaven without something or someone trying to disrupt perfection.
After cleaning and firing my first 2 pellets, I realized something was very wrong. My regulator Pressure jump to 200 bar. The air gun was suffering to put a pellet through the barrel. Initially I felt I had a lemon and I needed to send this product back immediately.
Instead, I pulled out the owners manual and read through it a couple of times. What I found was that the Reg pressure basically should stay around 150 maximum. So, my thinking was that someone tuned the air gun, but Reg was not completely settled. I was able to confirm this when I readjusted the regulator to get it where I wanted it. I am a urban shooter so, I like to keep my regulator around 100 aiding the in the quieting effect.
So, Problem solved. I am now a happy owner of a FX Wildcat MK3 and able to love it. Please read the user guide before taking the air gun for a spin. Yeah I should have known but boys with new toys LOL
This one came with the barrel installed ..i also ordered a sniper fx wildcat the barrel was not installed
What Others Should KnowWhen ordering inquire that it will come al together
Cant say as I cant use it!!! Oh hold on, the packaging it came in was good quality heavy duty cardboard.....
Things I Would Have ChangedQuality control at FX or at least supply eye glasses to the QC group!!!
What Others Should KnowTotally disappointed with this unit. Waited for a long time to get it as it was on back order and it arrived today and sits idle as it cannot be used.
1. O-ring sticking out of the barrel in PLAIN SIGHT with silicone grease oozing out and all over the stock.
2. Mag CANNOT be inserted into the mag slot. Not enough room. Appears that the breach? Is protruding too far back into the mag slot.
3. Looks to me like this is a returned unit?
How in Gods name could this have got through FXs quality control is beyond me. O-Ring sticking out, like I said, in plain sight and how was it test fired at all when you cannot insert a mag!!!!!????
Tried contacting customer service but of course they are closed and you are stuck with a BOT that only serves to annoy one even more.
Shoulders nicely and trigger feels great. Not too pellet picky and the barrel loves NSA mid to light weight slugs. Great accuracy. Kinda wish I would have got the Sniper version in .30 caliber though. I changed out the plenum for a 1.2 size bigger, results are great for power.
Things I Would Have ChangedNOTHING!!
What Others Should KnowGet or have a chrony so you can really tune it in for accuracy and power you want depending on the ammo you use.
Weight, size, easy to shoulder. Quality of materials, and over all great finish on metal parts. Accuracy is outstanding. Shot after shot. Mine is a .30 cal. Very hard hitting. 100 yd. shots are easy, accurate, and quarter size groupings with a Hawke scope.
Things I Would Have ChangedShould include 2 magazines. On delivery, my barrel was set too far back into Mag. chamber, impossible to insert magazine. Patrick S. from Pyramyd Air, responded Very quickly to my problem. Had me move barrel forward very slightly so Mag can be inserted properly. This should have been a factory inspection item.
What Others Should KnowTwice now the Hex screws have loosened on the cocking lever rod. Left side of rifle. Prohibits you from cocking rifle. If not careful, and moving lever, you can cause more than one pellet to enter barrel accidentally, until you actually see what has happened. You cannot remove magazine from the action until the 2 hex screws are tightened on the slide mount (B31 parts manual) back in their original position. You now can remove Mag. Be sure to check barrel is clear of pellets with a cleaning rod. If l experience another loosening of the two hex screws, I plan to use Locktite Blue, to keep them seated tightly.
I purchased a Donny FL TANTO moderator for this rifle. Very quiet rifle now.
Light, accuracy on point, power there when you need it and shoots slugs well.
Things I Would Have Changedshould come with 2 magazines and pic for bi pod.
What Others Should KnowLooking back on it I would have purchased the .30 in the sniper version.
Super light and super accurate. Awesome little gun.
light wight, smooth cocking lever, great accuracy and power. I got it in the .30. Oh yeah, the magazine fits slugs too.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt should have a valve adjustment too like the impact.
What Others Should KnowGo ahead and get the. 30 sniper version. you'll get more power and accuracy.
light weight, accurate as hell, smooth cocking, magazine fits slugs, power wheel and hammer adjustments work well together to improve power.
Things I Would Have Changedput a adjustable valve on it like the Impact has
What Others Should KnowGo ahead and get the sniper version for extra power and accuracy, it only $99.00 more.

'Have had this Wildcat Compact .22 for about 90 days now and absolutely LOVE it! I'm a lifelong squirrel hunter, and it's the best PCP of the 5 I've hunted with, by far. With the reg set up a bit to 125 BAR and using JMB 18.13's, accuracy is amazing - far better than I can hold, and it hits hard. My first time hunting with it included a 45 yard head shot, pretty impressive for me. I've added sling studs and a good sling, and carried it again most of the day yesterday in our N PA hills; really comfortable. I use a DonnyL suppressor on it, and although it wasn't loud out of the box, that really helps prevent spooking game. Even with the DonnyL it rides just even with my shoulder so it doesn't catch on brush like longer rifles (like the standard-length Avenger with suppressor, for one!)
Things I Would Have ChangedWish it had a "standard" quick connect fill connector instead of yet another fill probe to keep track of. It'd also be nice if it came with sling studs already installed.
What Others Should KnowWish extra mags weren't so hard to get...
