Cold Steel Wakizashi (Warrior Series), Black

Battle ready as advertised. Fit is tight giving the weapon a solid one-piece feel. Scabbard came a little undersized at the opening, allowing for a gentle and repetitious seating for a snug fit. Well worth the money.

Another well built sword like my warrior series katana and Tantos. Can’t wait to take it to my Tatami ! I have several Cold Steel blades and am never surprised by their Quality which is extremely consistent . I have been a martial artist since 1967 and have multiple Black belts , one in Iaido which gave me a lot of cut practice , something I like to do do with all my blades and this Wakizashi is well balanced cuts well and feels so good in my hands , love it !

The blade itself is very sharp and sturdily attached to the handle. The guard also has no wobble, which is very nice. The fit of the sword in the sheathe is a little loose. It will stay in when inverted, but slips out if I shake it. I find the menuki (the brass accents under the handle wrap) and end cap of the sheathe to be very unsatisfactory. The Menuki still have sharp edges on them, and the steel cap at the end of the saya came unglued almost instantly. Overall, this blade will cut, but it’s not quite the quality I’ve come to expect from Cold Steel.

This is a quality sword for the money. I purchased this item as a complement to my Warrior Series Katana. I am a martial arts practitioner, and I was seeking a quality set of swords that were designed to exact specification and had the durability to stand up to daily practice. I am impressed with both the quality and value of the Warrior series swords. I have researched many other brands, and you can pay a whole lot more money for much less quality. The Cold Steel name stands true to excellence of product.

Nice blades. A little roll on the edges but iknow they were priced low because this was not supposed to be the finest polish. Could have been a better scabard fot. But again, i ordered them for the steel.

I bought it 2nd hand from my friend. The scabbard is bluish and little crack. May be my friend is little crazy use it. Hahaha. But nevermind. I bought with friend price..secret. I like it. I will fixed that crack with my friend which expert in wooden cratsmanship. Oh yes..i also but it tanto too. Great

I just received this a day ago, and so far, I am quite pleased with it. For reference, I happen to have a WWII Japanese katana that was a battlefield pick up and brought home to the states by my father. Comparing the original to the new one from Cold Steel highlights a couple of interesting differences. First off, the height of the blade from the edge to the spine is significantly more on the CS sword. I assume that would translate into greater ability to withstand shock. Also, the tip (where the blade slopes to the point) of the CS sword is much longer than it is on the original. Not sure why and I am not sure that I care about it, but it is a difference. The build quality of the CS sword appears to be very good to excellent. Fit and finish is very good, and I could find nothing to complain about. There are however, two things that I would like to point out. First, the edge on the blade had not completed the sharpening process. It was almost sharp but had a sharpening bead on one side. Once I took a sharpening steel and removed the bead, the blade was sharp enough to easily cleanly slice a sheet of paper. Second, there are no markings on the sword at all to indicate who made it or where it was made and yes, this is a complaint. I would like to see the Cold Steel logo on the blade as is common on Cold Steel knives. This should be changed. Overall, I would recommend it. It is a very nice sword.

I already own the Warrior Katana by Cold Steel and love it now if anything I like this Wakizashi even more. Thanks for the great price and superior quality .
