Cold Steel Urban Edge Double Serrated Edge, Black, Ambidextrous, Fixed Blade

Very well made knife. I purchase 2 at the same time. I’m used to all my cold steel products with a very sharp edge. These don’t not come that way. Luckily I have the cold steel dog bone sharpener, with that and a tapered file I was able to get them pretty sharp. One that I received the sheath won’t retain the knife. I haven’t contacted cold steel about it yet, but I’m sure they will help me. I recently purchased a safe maker one that needed about 10 hrs of edge reshaping to get sharp as well. I assume it has something to do with all the push daggers. Overall all the products are typical cold steel solidly built products. I will carry this knife with me every day.

Got this to use as an ocean dive knife. It doesn't claim to be salt water safe, but I've used it submerged in salt water many days for hours at a time, then rinsed the knife and sheath with fresh water and dried, at the end of each day. It has held up perfectly and never developed any rust on the blade or sheath rivets. I switched out the neck chain that came with it, for quieter/more comfortable, thin 200# paracord. So can't say if the chain is salt water safe. I like this for a dive knife, as I find it easier to quickly access at the neck, more so than typical dive knife locations. It is also easier to retain in water than a regular straight handle. You can also still use your fingers for tasks and hand for swimming, with it between your fingers. I don't typically like serrated blades, but for diving, serrated is a good option, as the main things I need it for are cutting wet cord/rope, or (hopefully never) the flesh of aggressive sea-life. Both of which serrated is excellent at cutting. The sheath on this serrated blade version snaps securely into place and has perfect retention. But for some reason the sheath on the plain blade version, does not snap securely into place, and has questionable retention.

I lost my last one looking to replace it. Just one thing that would make this a 5 star review if it had a clip on the sheath so I can wear it on my belt, pants pocket, belt loop or even your boot. This knife has good American history after all.

Nice blade, but poor planning on the scabbard. Small C clip can only be attached upside down. Not safe or convenient.

Great EDC, very comfortable to hold and very sharp

Solid and well built. Good price. Blade is a little short for good self defense. Needs to be a little longer.

Great when attached to ulticlip, holds well to sweatpants for running at night. Light weight doesn't drag down pants.
