Cold Steel Tactical Katana Machete

I recently purchased both the tactical katana machete and tactical wakizashi machete. Several years ago I purchased the previous model the two handed katana machete and was excited to purchase the newer model. When it first arrived I was excited and immediately impressed with the katana size and style. Very cool. Then I used it! The scabbard is cheesy and worthless!!! It is the same scabbard as the old model except the put a hole in the top. It’s probably an inch or more too wide for the blade so it’s sloppy inside it, even though the new blade is narrower closer to a real katana the scabbard is still made for the wider blade, the strap is worthless not even close to usable. The katana is completely redesigned from the previous version the two handed katana machete, but the scabbard didn’t change except a hole at the top. Next the handle. The day after I received it in the mail I went out weed cutting. The raised fake ray skin handle is very hard on the hands, gloves are a must! Near the hilt is a raised part that will rub a blister on my right forearm finger after using for a short period of time.

Glad you have this. BUT, I wish it was clean, white steel, and, long handle with wakizashi blade. I had to cut it down to size myself. And, plan to sand off the black coating some time in the future.

I gave it 3 stars because it's awesome but cheap. When fully sharpened anything it touches is falling on the floor. Is very cheaply made but durable. I'd take on a pack of coyotes with it no problem

Got this as xmas gift a few years ago it doesn't disappoint. Still fairly sharp and great tool. Absolutely have to use string as a hold. Would buy a larger version if it existed.

Machete was straight, ground evenly and has great reach. This was a concern when I bought it due to other reviews, definitely NOT a concern now! Arrow straight and the grind is perfect. The only thing I don’t care for is the plastic handle, it’s a little slick. I’ll have to find a thin wrap to make it more comfortable.

I like how it is two handed as compared to all my other one handed machetes, weight and length makes it a great solution to Johnson grass

I was surprised at how wonderful the handle feels and how high quality it seems.

It's quite decent. I had to do some extra sharpening on it because it was sharpened a little unevenly but it cuts foam like butter now!

I've been using this for 4 months in a fence row clearing project. Lots of blackberry canes and multi-flora rose. The length of this machete lets me stand back and hack a path into the base of the roses without getting snagged like with a short machete. Grape vines, honeysuckle, small saplings all slice nicely. When I need to bear down on a shrubby mass, the two handed grip rules.

I absolutely love this thing, the size, the handle, the sheath, all 5 Stars. The only problem is the blade. It’s so not straight, it’s almost laughable. It’s very sharp though and looks and feels pretty strong. I haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet and I’m not sure if I will. I may just keep it around to Michonne zombies in the apocalypse :) I do feel the price for a katana like sword is really a steal and all-in-all I’m very happy with my purchase.
