A incredibly solid heavy duty tool. Compact nice sheath to protect you from the sharp edges. The handle is very solid and should hold up forever. Fits in your hand well as a shovel it works great if you ever had to use it as a weapon you would not come up short. Shovelhead is quite heavy Steel and is easy to use your foot to push it in the soil. Easy to secure to a backpack
My only regret is not buying this sooner. For "small enough to go anywhere with me" this is a do-almost-anything tool. It is at my side as I take out old shrubbery around the house, digging thru rocky soil, levering out small stumps, and more. It is always in the SUV as we venture far from where the pavement ends. Teh sharp edges are no gimmick as they slice thorough tough roots, breakup branches for kindling, and take out saplings when an axe isn't available.
Handy tool to have in the car. Well made and very sturdy. Handle is thick and the shovel part is too. Good value .

I have owned this product for a year and use it daily. This shovel goes with me into every grave I dig. It does an excellent job digging my feet out of quicksand. The sharp blade helps to shave the sides and it fits on my hip in the sheath in a way which is not any sort of a hindrance or obstruction to my work.
I keep two of these in my car. One up front with me and one in the trunk. Great weapon.

Very well built, solid handle construction and the blade already has an edge to it. Took a file and sharpened it up nicely. Great hand tool to have on the truck for small stuff.
