"Under-The Hill" was the notoriously rowdy riverfront district of Natchez, Mississippi at the beginning of the nineteenth century. So disreputable, it was seldom mentioned in the polite drawing rooms of the antebellum mansions that dotted the other side of town during the era when cotton was king. Cold Steel's Natchez Bowie was born "Under-The-Hill" and takes its pedigree from those seedy taverns and dimly lit streets. Line-bred for battle, its the definitive fighting Bowie. Its long blade is perfectly shaped for strength, reach, and leverage and its significant heft is flawlessly balanced, giving it unparalleled liveliness and velocity. Combine all that with its wickedly razor-sharp edge and you have a knife that pierces like a dagger, cuts like a razor, and chops like a cleaver! The very best in materials and workmanship is what makes performance like this possible. The blade is made of CPM-3V tool steel. Its costly and difficult to fashion, but the resulting blade it yields is virtually indestructible. The handle also plays a big role in the overall performance. It has a double quillion guard, bolster, and pommel made of highly polished 300 series stainless steel and a rugged black G10 handle. It will easily accommodate a wide variety of gripping methods while serving as a very formidable impact weapon as well. Each Natchez Bowie is supplied with a Secure-Ex sheath to protect the blade and allow you to wear it safely and securely on your side always ready to defend you and your loved ones.

I have always wanted a genuine Cold Steel Natchez Bowie. I finally got it!!!! This knife is truly awesome. As a former operator I can attest to this knife being truly a master piece of a blade. My Chris Reeves SF blade that I had with the teams was stolen from me when a thug and piece of suit broke into my home. My new Natchez has taken its place.
Blade is beautiful and functional. However the belt loop part of sheith is trash, fell apart. That is the ONLY issue.

I must say this knife is a Pure Weapon made of 11.5 inches of CPM 3 V steel. The heft and balance of this blade is perfect. It was Razor sharp out of the box and the Clip point is even sharp in the back end. This blade can operate as a Stabber, a Slasher as well as a Read more about review stating Pure Fighting BladeChopper and could perform all 3 with 100% proficiency. The Handle is made of G10 and while smooth it is non slippery and has multi Grips ability. The double guard is not 3V but 300 Stainless steel which is durable as heck and Rust resistant. I won’t be using this Elite blade as a Beater but I will be practicing some Filipino knife techniques with this 1.919 Pound knife. At 6’2” 250 Lbs. It fits my persona perfectly. If you have been thinking about getting the Natchez but the price range stops you then just remember “BUY ONCE CRY ONCE”. It’s a must have for the collection.
Outstanding fit and finish (better than the VG-1 San Mai version). No gaps or seams anywhere. Mine came with a surprisingly sharp clip. The guard and pommel are 300 series SST (maybe 304), not brass as pictured.
This is another magnificent knife that I'm happy to add to my growing Cold Steel collection. This will be my preferred back country outdoor knife.
This is the bowie I've wanted since I was a boy! Feels so solid and well made. I may never put the toughness of the CPM to the test, but I know it's in there.
