Outstanding machete and extremely well designed and made! The sheath is sturdy and well made for the machete. I was surprised at the quality of both the machete and sheath. I highly recommend this machete!

I bought my first after watching a review done on Knifetests.com a LOONG time ago. It did everything they threw at it and never broke. Like they legitimately tried to kill it and could not. My experience over the years has been the same. I have about 7 of these(and a few other CS machete's) and have given multiples away to family for use around the house and for woods/backpack use. They hold a edge even with hard use. It works great as a chopper, a grass cutter, pruner, wood processor and even can substitute as a light axe to fall trees with. It's size and excellent weight makes it a easy choice to carry with you into the woods. It provides that little bit of security and a LOT of workhorse ability in one blade. This kukri machete is the machete that all others are compared to for me. I hope Cold Steel never stops making it because it is one of the best products they ever offered.
This review is long overdo. I’ve had my Cold Steel Kukri machete for well over 20 years. Not sure if any changes have been made but I carried this while serving as a US Marine, taken it through parts of South America as well as camping here in the USA and it has never failed. The blade is fairly easy to sharpen in the field although I have to take it to a professional now cause the blade is pretty dinged up from my last trek. Something I’ve not done before. It chops it slashes with ease due to the weight forward design. My hand never tired unless I was doing a lot of bushwhacking. Solid. I’m going ti get one for my son cause he’s beeen using mine. Lol. As you can see in the photos the sheath is really the only thing that’s on its last legs. Lol. Lots of wear and tear. Definitely worth the $$ depending on your needs.
I've used this brand and style of machete since 2011. Lost one, have given several away, keep buying them for a reason. From a general purpose off-road tool to a staple of my bug out bag: you get more than what you pay for with this blade. Durable, great weight balance towards the end for chopping branches and cutting brush. Down to one from giving yet another away, so I just ordered another 2. Going to order a few more soon just to have stock.
