This is an amazing example of ergonomics and functionality. It just works so easily to clear vegetation, brush and even small saplings. Almost effortlessly.

Great for cutting down and collecting thistsles and other undesirable plants. Very light weight.

The garden machete is a fun tool that would be in my regular use if it came with a sheath. Any blade especially a double edged blade should come with a sheath. I will buy one if i find one that fits.

This Cold Steel Garden and Camp Machete was out of stock for a very long time. I called Cold Steel customer service line about a month ago and inquired if this machete was going to be back in stock soon. I was given good news, the lady helping told me that they would be receiving them back in stock the following week. I kept checking the website and a little over a week I saw it back in stock. I immediately placed an order for it. I received it in less than a week, which was ahead of the estimated delivery date. This was perfect for what I needed it for. Some thick, tall, overgrown weeds in my yard. Too thick for my weed eater/string trimmer, and I had tried using a grass whip, which didn't work that well either, it didn't have enough heft to cut through the thick weeds. The Cold Steel Garden and Camp Machete worked great. The only thing you have to watch out for is that you have to try to avoid as much as possible hitting stones, rocks, curbs, sidewalks. All of these things will easily damage the fine cutting edge of the Cold Steel Garden and Camp Machete, and will require you to touch up the edge to keep it in top cutting form. I loved this Cold Steel Garden and Camp Machete so much, I immediately ordered another one for back up. It is kind of a simple design, but it is very effective, and there is really nothing else like it available. Get yours before they run out again. Get 2!

When they first came out many years ago I bought 4 of them. I clear a lot of plants both woody and non woody in my rocky wildlife research area. I use a stone to resharpen the blade when I have chinked it on rocks. There is no better tool for cutting unwanted vegetation

I bought a Garden & Camp Machete directly from Cold Steel when they were first released. I use this tool multiple times a week. Fishing, hunting, yard work, clearing paths at construction sites for work - it really comes in handy. I have purchased two others for Family and Friends. I consistently tell other outdoor enthusiasts about it - it is that useful. For me, it gets the most use clearing trails for creek, stream and river fishing along the Chesapeake Bay. The natural swinging motion really cuts through weeds, small saplings, shrubs and brush of any kind. As a point of reference, I fish 3-5 times a week and look for "out of the way" places to drop a line - so this tool really earns its keep in my kit. It has traveled with me to Florida, New Mexico and Arizona on fishing and hunting expeditions. I keep this tool in my vehicle along with an All Terrain Chopper, which is the heaviest machete style blade on the market (that I have found). With these two tools there is nothing that can't be cleared or cut through. The Garden & Camp Machete is a must for any Outdoorsman.
