Our G.I. Tanto is a no-nonsense tactical knife that comes with a legion of practical uses. The GI Tanto's broad blade, integral quillon guard, and Polypropylene handle scales exemplify a tactical knife stripped down to its bare essentials. Made from spring tempered 1055 carbon steel and protected by a rust resistant finish, it's rugged, hard-wearing and dependable. Popular with sport throwers, the GI Tanto is perfectly balanced and capable of being thrown by the blade or handle. In a survival or self-defense situation, it can be quickly and easily converted into a spear too! Just remove the handle scales and lash the blade securely to a suitable wooden shaft!Best of all, it's a great value blade inexpensive enough to buy duplicates to keep as back-up or bug-out bag knives, or even just to throw for fun on a sunny day. I’ve had this blade about 15 years now. I’m sure I’ve thrown it over 1,000 times with no exaggeration. It’s hit screws metal concrete and the most damage it’s ever had was small rolls easily fixed with a quick sharpen. Only thing I don’t like is I wish the tip wasn’t as flat but I would trust this knife with my life
I love this knife! What a great value. It is Well balanced, and it feels good in the hand.
The tip came rounded so I had to file it down to a point and the way that the edge profile is grounded down it's hard to reprofile the edge by hand because of The ridges just before the edge meets the factory sharpening
Sharp as Can be, without using the Sharpener they give you! I hadn’t had much use for it other than stir fires with it and it’s Still Shap¡
Really a lot of fun. I bought two. Nicely balanced and throws great. At present throwing at 10-15 yds. I recommend watching the video. Very impressive.
If there was one blade I would choose to trek, hike, camp, SHTF EDC and for a walk in the woods or play around the campfire, the GI Tanto with its awesome Kydex sheath is my favorite!
