Many Japanese swords offered today are interpretive copies of antiquities from feudal Japan, and they were made for warriors of small stature who seldom rose above five and a half feet. As beautiful and skillfully designed as these swords are, they may not be perfectly suited for the modern warrior, who has grown to be a substantially taller and stronger version of his historical counterpart!With that in mind, Cold Steel has created the Dragonfly Series - a line of Japanese swords featuring thicker, wider and heavier blades. The Dragonfly Katana is a beautiful sword with a distinctive teal-green silk cord-wrap and black sam (ray skin) handles, complementing rich iron furniture with a dragonfly motif. Their deeply curved and hand polished 1060 steel blades terminate in a long "iris leaf" point for maximum cutting potential. Additionally, these swords come with two protective bags. A blue cotton travel bag and an intricately decorative display bag made from the finest heavy silk brocade.

I just got my Sword. Very well made and sharp right out of the box. I've always wanted one but could never quite afford one. Masterpiece. My new battle katana is ready for what ever comes my way. Absolutely love it!!!!!!!!
I hàvé owned miñé since 2021 it is made expertly with no detail ovérlooked. It hàs far. Surpàssed àny that i purçhàsed from china añd is ín my oppinion júst às effective as my real japanes níhonto ór gendaito i have the emporer o katana, the dràgoñfly katana, the dràgoñfly wakizashi w long handle. The góld lión wakizashi. The góld lión wakizashi is fólded steel w a çlay treated hamon my all óf them àre swords of the highest qualíty the lóng handle dragónfly wàkizashi is my favorite my next óñe will be the hañdàchi thats offered now
I just got it in the mail, chopped some water bottles in half, and then took it to get professionally sharpened. Just did tameshegiri for first time ever (I have no experience with swords, but I'm a big strong guy), and got 2 super clean cuts first time ever trying. The fact that even true Japanese Katanas can only use antiquited (but beatiful) traditional Japanese steel, yet this Katana is stronger steel being 1060 (and larger sized sword overall), "It will Killll"!
I bought the dragonfly katana and was torn by the performance of the sword. It is a beastly cutter, the blade itself being more than workably strong. The one I recieved also had acceptably snug fittings, so I was not displeased with the state of the furnishings. The one thing I was displeased with was that it failed at the handle, snapping at around the bottom third when I attempted to perform a cut. The blade is excellent enough that I would buy the sword even having to replace the handle, but I wish the sword came with a more durable handle to match its excellent blade.
This Karan is a beautiful sword and comes ready for action. It is extremely sharp so handle with care.
