I have carried this knife for awhile now and I own many folding blades and I never carry any of em anymore because I can't leave the 1911 behind
Although i had received this as a Mice thoughtful GIFT I find it's locking system is Well pretty poor. when opened the main or 1st Primary lock doesn't lock! After trying to lock it the secondary seems to offer littl more protection. Therefore I'll be sending mind back for replacement

The Cold Steel 1911 Folding Knife is an awesome and affordable EDC knife! The extremely sharp 3" blade is made of high quality 4116 steel. It deploys quickly using thumb studs or flipper tab, and lockup is rock solid with its secondary slider switch. Finally, the tough Griv-Ex textured handle allows for a comfortable yet tight grip, and the sturdy pocket clip holds the knife securely. I am very happy to use this sturdy tool on a daily basis!
Good basic utility knife. Nice blade. Good opening functionality with flipper or thumbstud. Handle is plastic, but light. Not heavy and easy to throw in a backpack or small bag and it's there when you need it. Nothing fancy, but functional and reliable . . . just like a real 1911.

This is an excellent knife with scales that look just like the ones on my treasured 1911 pistols. I bought one of these for myself and had two others engraved with info related to Colt pistols from the first full year of production (1912), which I gifted to one of my sons and sons-in-law.

It took a while for the custom engraving to be completed. But it looks very nice. I've only used this 1911 a few times, but it fits perfectly in to what I needed. My previous work knife was a Gerber. A good sturdy model that I've been using for years. But I run into the same problem I always have with work knifes. After a few years of abuse, the locking mechanism fails. And the blade snaps down on my fingers. The 1911 has a dubble lock that makes this failure impossible. It cuts through electric tape like it's air. It easily slices pex pipe, those cuts have yet to be straight and clean. But that's probably user error. It's a good 1/2 to 1 inch shorter than the work knives I usually carry. But it out cuts, slices the others. I like it.
