Description
BSA invented the modern spring-piston gun, but they've never stopped to rest on their laurels. They continue to innovate, relying heavily on the expertise of world-renowned airgun expert John Bowkett. The GRT models are a prime example of their forward movement.
BSA spring- and gas-piston air rifle models are put through a rigorous 10,000-shot test and then stripped down to see how they held up. Anything that doesn't last is improved so it will. Not until the gun passes with flying colors in all areas does it get approved for production and can wear the BSA name. Don't you wish every airgun manufacturer did that?

8 of 8 BSA GRT Supersport SE Air Rifle Reviews
I own a BSA GRT Lightning which only has a 10 inch barrel. This gun and the Lightning are identical except for the length of barrel. I can get 5 shot groups with the Lightning that you can cover with a dime. With this gun a 3 inch group is as good as it gets. yes, I have tried many different pellets and get the same result with all. Yes, I have cleaned the bore several times to no avail. My advice...buy the Lightning.
Things I Would Have ChangedMore accurate barrel.
What Others Should Knownope
This rifle is very accurate. It took nearly 1000 rounds to begin to group but this gun is very accurate with H&N FTT's and several other pellets as well. It is also very attractive. Looks are important, but accuracy is what it is all about and this is a remarkable rifle. I posted a rundown of the gun on the GTA forum with pictures of targets and the gun.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger!! It isn't terrible, but the second stage is too long and overall the pull weight is too heavy. It would be nice to have this same stock design in synthetic as an option.
What Others Should KnowThe gun is a little loud. It is really a fun rifle to shoot. The cocking effort is a bit tough because it's a gas piston, but with 14.66g FTT's it is shooting between 692.5fps and 713.1. Average is 701.9fps and 16.04 fpe-21.75 joules with an extreme spread of 20.6fps and std. dev of 6.3. I could nit pick this gun if I was so inclined, but it is great. I spent the 10 for ten and I got a great rifle. Don't take my word for it. Go to GTA and look at my 20 yard 5 shot group targets.
The stock and hardware are attractive. It really is a nice looking rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedI could not get the iron sights to line up with the POI. The safety also needs work. When I first took it out of the box I could pull through the trigger with it on. Eventually it would engage.
What Others Should KnowGet the 10 for 10 check that Pyramid Air offers. I neglected to do so on this purchase and I regret it. Pyramid Air has been great, I'm sending it back, with no troubles, to get a RWS.
This is NOT the first .25 Cal. Rifle I own. so here is the Scoop Guys. For a small .25 Cal is accurate to 55' 65' with a good grouping. You are not going to miss a Sparrow. It is very smooth on the Trigger and that is a plus for accuracy. It handles very nice and tide firm operation by cocking the Barrel. It is lite and you can aim steady. The Scope stay in place with out slip back like some others with a Dovetail. The mounting Screws are Allen! This way it will stay in place in to the stock batter then Phillips screws. I mount a 3- 9x40 Hawke Sport Scope and in about 5 shots I was on 50'+. I also put some RWS oil in the Barrel to clean it. The price? You can NOT bit it to what you get. You can get a batter Rifle, but you have to pay three times the $$$!!
Things I Would Have ChangedNOTHING!!! The gun is ready to go out from the Box! My first shot with out a Scope, just to try out was 120' I hit a little Box 2x3" and I am 69 years old.
What Others Should KnowI own many High End Air Rifles and as a small .25 Cal to compare with my Cometa Fenix 400 .25 Cal, the BSA is more accurate, liter, gas Piston and also about $30 chipper! You can NOT go wrong, worth every Penny. Buy this Rifle, I recumbent it. The only one for me next is the Dianna 52, but, is three times more $$$.
Mine is .25 caliber. GRT = Gas Ram Technology. First shot in the bullseye. Only plastic on gun: sights and a very nice trigger. Two bolts at front require an 1/8" allen and they are angled "furniture-style" into the barrel, the rear loosens with a T-20 at the very substantial METAL trigger-guard. Length of pull is 14" like most, barrel is 18 1/2" and length would be the stated 42" were it not for the huge kickpad which makes it so it won't fit a 44" case easily. It IS the stated 6.6 lbs. and is a beauty to behold.
Things I Would Have ChangedShorten the length of the kickpad at least a half inch to make it Webley "Stingray" sized, otherwise they're identical in size and weight (Webley is .22 and right at 7 lbs. with spring power).
What Others Should KnowDarkest Walnut stock of my airguns. Nice balance, very solid and well built. No real difference in cocking-effort over my springers. Not quiet, but not as noisy as a PCP either.
Rifle is of nice weight and very pleasurable to shoot. The cocking effort is not to bad and very smooth. This is the first gas piston rifle I have owned and I was surprised by the overall fit and finish of the rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedI was disappointed in the accuracy of this rifle after reading many positive reviews regarding this gun. I tried several different pellets of different manufacture and weight and still could not achieve any promise of accuracy and yes I used the artillery hold.
What Others Should KnowI sent this gun back to pyramid air with out any hitch. Thanks to their fine customer service I decided to try another BSA super sport because I feel like I just got a bad rifle and I liked the fit and feel of the gun to give it another try. I will let u guys know how the second round goes on the rifle.
Quality is evident. Balance is very good. May seem strange to say but the Supersport feels comfortable just like my Lightning. There was some procedure involved in my purchase of the Supersport GRT. The procedure was initiated by Richelle G. of PA to whom I am grateful, and followed up in a polite and competent manner by Adam of PA.
Things I Would Have ChangedHave PA service study the hammer forged barrel and finally admit that the barrel is indeed hard stamped UK---BUT---nowhere on the barrel is it hard stamped or otherwise identified as MADE IN(either UK or Spain)
What Others Should KnowI'm assuming the accuracy will be great just as my GRT Lightning because both have a hammer forged barrel , which by the way , is manufactured in the UK , but assembled in Spain . The weather in CT. has been too cold to go to the range for breaking in. I'm anxious.

Beautiful stock. Great trigger. Easy to cock. However, the slack in the barrel hinge was so bad that I could never get a decent group. You could close the action and holding the barrel in one hand and the stock in the other feel lots of sideways play in the hinge. Odd that this was so bad as the BSA GRT Lighting I bought had NONE and was a tack driving little rifle. I took it apart, used a sharp punch to swell the holes in the barrel piece a bit smaller and have got much better results.
Things I Would Have ChangedQUALITY CONTROL!!! The best hinge assembly I have seen so far is in the Crosman Nitro Venom which is less than $200. This poor of workmanship in a $300 gun is inexcusable.
What Others Should KnowBe prepared for some adjustments if you buy this rifle.
