Description
The Barra 1866 CO2 BB Rifle is a replica airgun that takes shooters to an earlier era in history with realistic details and operation in a very attractive package. It is capable of reaching velocities up to 600 FPS to provide the power and accuracy needed for long days of fun backyard plinking.
For added realism, this airgun uses metal cartridges that the shooter loads with a BB and pushes through the loading port, and the cartridges eject when shot. The airgun is powered by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges, which are loaded in the end of the buttplate along with the Allen wrench, to provide ample shots and power, and it has a 10-round internal tube magazine like its firearm inspiration.
The synthetic stock on the Barra 1866 CO2 is durable and lightweight, and the wood grain finish gives it a smooth and classic appearance. The airgun uses a metal receiver for added strength, and it also features an interchangeable barrel system, with the ability to switch to a rifled barrel or a rifled barrel in .22, both available for separate purchase.
In order to provide accurate shots, this air gun includes a fixed front post sight and a flip-up iron sight for realism, as well as a removable short Picatinny optics rail for adding a small red dot sight to further increase precision.
To get an airgun with the looks and features of the lever action guns of history to experience limitless plinking enjoyment, buy the Barra 1866 CO2 BB Rifle at Pyramyd AIR today.

4 of 4 Barra 1866 CO2 BB Reviews
Heavy. Fells robust. Smooth bore or rifled barrel installed this thing zings targets beautifully. The sights are a joy. Weather fast popping a can or laying in the deep notch for a dime sized target. This is way too cool. I would consider getting a second one in .22.
Things I Would Have ChangedWell the paint doesn't hold up. Within the first 2 loadings I lost a fair amount of paint on the loading gate. (Expected a little longer) I had 1 of 10 shells not accept Pellets. .177 BB would work but pellets wouldn't. But my rifled barrel came with 6 shells that didn't fit pellets. I have the tools to fix this. (I have a tool shop) I have only gotten 1 of 3 loadings of CO2 to acutely pop both CO2. This could be user error. But one of those times I had a capsule get stuck. Had to take a pipe and hammer on it to get it out. Loading is a expected pain. (Fun though) but this thing extracts inconsistent. Shells will pop back in the ejection port backwards and jam the action or put a shell in your forehead. (Hurts. Wear eye protection) worst issue was a pellet came out a shell in the action this made me have to leave my bench to go to the shop. By the time it was fixed I ran out of sunlight. (Don't shoot in the dark. Know your target and what is behind it)
What Others Should KnowThis has it's own manual of arms. It isn't your daisy. It has safety on the lever if not depressed it doesn't fire. You can ease the hammer down. Or you can ND into your bench. You can fast fire. Like the opening of rifleman. On and DW715 shells DO NOT WORK in this but do in DW715. At least my guns do.
I LOVE this new Barra 1866 CO2 rifle....looks and feels like the real deal! Great addition to my collection.
Things I Would Have ChangedBarra needs to add provisions on the barrel and the bottom of the buttstock to be able to install a shoulder sling. There are none presently and it makes the rifle more difficult to carry. Otherwise, the rifle is GREAT!
What Others Should KnowBuy PLENTY of extra Cartridges....you will need them! (I'm getting ready to buy more)....also, in case you are wondering the same cartridge is used for both .177 cal. BB's AND Pellets. ENJOY!
Hefty, good-looking rifle. The gold metal receiver is handsome and although the stock and foregrip are brown polymer woodgrain they look like real wood with a smooth satin finish. Warning label is subdued under the octagon barrel shroud with an individual serial number. Removed the Picatinny Rail easily with the smallest size Allen wrench. Replaced the B·B smooth bore barrel with the Barra .177 RIFLED BARREL for Pellets. I like the fact that it uses the Barra Schofield No3 Revolver pellet shells, of which I have many already for my Barra Schofield revolvers. Painted front sight fluorescent orange for better visibility while aiming. The flip up rear sight is for long-distance shooting way beyond 10 yards, lowest notch hits 6 inches high at 10 yards. Zeroed in and found it consistently shoots 1 inch high and 1.5 inches left using the flip sight notch when down at 10 yards. After adjusting and aiming 1 inch low and 1.5 inches right of target and shot about a 1-inch group using 7.49 gr wadcutters. Two 12-gram CO2 cartridges are loaded into the buttstock. Gold metal Butt plate is released by pushing the black button the under stock. An Allen wrench is removed from inside the stock to tighten piercing screw (manual warns to not overtighten). Made no hissing sound tightening piercing screw. Turns out I only pierced one CO2 being too careful – so, I had to tighten some more. Loading pellets into the shells and loading the shells into the right-side loading port of the rifle: recommend that you shove the next shell in after you half-way insert the one before it. Shells eject out of the top of the receiver as they should and land on my padded shooting bench. Must move cocking lever forward and back quickly so that shells don't get hung up coming out. Great replica!

This is a nice gun! I can't believe how accurate it is! Even with the simple sight, I was picking off cans almost immediately. I love the way it ejects spent "shells" between shots, too. Fun! Loading is easy, though a little time consuming. But, you know that going in. You gotta load it, just like the real thing. I love shooting this rifle!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe imitation wood stock looks good, but feels kinda cheap.
What Others Should KnowI find unloading the 2 spent gas cartridges to be extremely difficult. They go right in just fine, but when it's time to remove the spent cartridges, you can't turn the wrench without tremendous amounts of force. I've not figured out why this is so? It feels as if it's cross threaded, but it's not. Don't know if this is true for all these guns or just mine.
