It fits the HW30S and HW50S and has enough elevation adjustment without digging into the stocks. Not aware of other apertures that fit and stay put from recoil.Precise adjustments. Expensive for my purposes but I knew that when I bought it. Robert

Very sturdy construction with a huge amount of elevation adjustment. This is not a delicate piece of target kit; you could confidently install this on a hunting rifle.

Product photo shows four screws to apply clamping pressure to the base/mount, but the sight only has two. The diopter/eyepiece is made of plastic and was not completely clear. I heated up an appropriate-sized sewing needle with a butane lighter and pushed it through the orifice to clean it up.

It has its faults, but to get a better diopter sight, you'd probably have to spend considerably more money.

Very solidly made sight! Excellent coarse elevation adjustability and fine windage/elevation adjustability. Getting sighted in was just as easy as getting any scope sighted in. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it was easier because of the coarse elevation adjustability. I also love the standardized aperture threads that allow for use of apertures from other manufacturers as well!

Four screws for tightening down to an 11mm dovetail mount instead of two would make for a better grip when mounted on high powered and heavy recoiling spring piston or gas ram air rifles without convenient 'scope stop' options. It looks like the capability is almost there to to this if two counter-sunk holes for two more allen screws where on the left side of the mount... The right side already has two drilled and tapped holes...

For anyone like myself with aging eyes, I can't recommend purchasing the Gehmann 530 adjustable iris and adjustable focus (1.5x) enough! The problem I've had with even aperture sights the last few years was that when I focused on the front sight (correct way to use an aperture sight...) the target became too much of a blur in the background to shoot as accurately as I once was able to... Simply unscrew the aperture that came with the sight and screw in the Gehmann 530 and you're done! Adjust the Gehmann 530 iris appropriately for the ambient light conditions (For best shooting accuracy possible, always adjust the iris size to the smallest hole size where you can still clearly see the target...) and adjust the focus until you can see both the front sight and the target clearly and you're done! I literally have my sight of my early 20's again with this arrangement! Nice!

The product photo shows four dovetail clamping screws but you mention it only has two? I went to the AirForce website to get more info and they don't even show a description, let alone detailed information!

Nice sight for the money. Great adjustability ,you should be able to mount this sight on just about any rifle with an 11mm rail. Diopter adjustments are very crisp and positive with a generous amount of adjustment on both windage and elevation. Really like the ability to reset turrets to zero, this coupled with the precise repeatability make yardage changes a snap! Going from 10YDS to 40YDS and back sight shows no POI change for me.

Only two: For as good a sight as this is it still took me 15 minutes with a wire gage drill bit to finally get the fuzzies out of the eye piece. Come on guys, would it really cost that much more to make one out of steel? The only other thing I didn't like was the lock screw for the sight adjustments . It works just fine but instead of a screw slot it should have a rounded knurled knob so you could use your fingers instead of having to carry around a tiny little screwdriver which I never have because I've dropped it somewhere in the backyard!

If you want a precision sight to punch paper or dispatch an occasional intruder in your blueberry patch, this one will work just fine!

Appears to be solid and well made. Mounted with no problems to my Hammerli AR20. Sighting in at 10 meters was no problem.

As others have pointed out, an instruction manual would be lovely. Also, how about using METRIC allen heads instead of BSA (English). I know it's a Texas company, but really.......

Seems to be a decent value for the money. Hopefully the threading for use of Iris diopters will not prove to be non-standard.

Brian what's your beef with American's using whatever type of screw heads and threads for their screw's that we wish too? Next you will say that we should also speak a non English European/Asian language for your convenience. This is a free country Brian we do not need to conform to what you view as correct. Mommies boy's like you are an irritant. -Peter

Great service from PyramydAir. I got the sight in 3 days. Also, I had some questions about the operation of this sight and they gathered the data promtly from the manufacture and got it to me fast. About the sight: Heavy, solid, good materials, wide range of verticle adjustment, and holds the adjustment well.

The manufacture should include a owners manual. Also, make it with a metal peep vs a plastic one. Also, the 1/8 MOA adjustment is just too much clicking for 10m distance. A standard 1/4 MOA would be more usable for 10m target shooting, and would require less turning.

I hope to be the first person in over 2 years to attempt a review of this product. This is a solid built sight, and with very tight adjustments knobs. Nevertheless, it's easy to adjust large verticle adjustment screw on the left side of the sight. Also, easy to disassemble. I lubed mine up with lithium grease to smooth out the wheel adjustments. The peep hole is made of plastic. If you like target shooting this holds the zero in good. I re-mount it every time I shoot and have no need to adjust the sight. However, if you change pellets from 7.0gr light to heavy 8.2gr, and need to move the zero more than one inch, it will require a lot of turning and even to re-position the sight on it's mount with the verticle height adjustment screw. Nevertheless, I'm hapy with it. This rear sight along with the Airforce Front sight are a great match. These sights give me a clear target picture when I shoot bullseye.

Adjustments are decent, and you can tune it to zero for your favorite pellet, and fine tune on the fly. It's metal and solid. Great Pyramydair service, got it in 3 days. This aperture sight has a wide range of height adjustment from mild to extreme. And, it fits my Daisy Avanti 853CM and is very adjustable. I can get my eye close to the sights for a good picture sight without tilting my head forward and sideways.

Even though it is a no-brainer to mount and adjust, a manual would be nice. Rear aperture is plastic, and the peep hole was drilled off-center, which will negativly affect accuracy if turned.

I would compair this sight to the quality and precision of the Daisy Avanti aperture sight that came with my Avanti 853CM. However, the AirForce has the ability to adjust the knobs to zero, and has a better height adjustment that most pictures do not show. The wide range basic height adjustment is on the left side, and can be set up very high to fit high front globe sights without using riser mounts. Along with the AirForce front globe sight, this allows me to raise up the sights and keep my head erect without tilting head forward or sideways. Thus, much more comfort in shooting offhand. The only problem is the plastic aperture that was drilled offcenter. I replaced it with my Avanti metal aperature by wraping some plumber's tape around the aperture's screw in, and now it fits well enough until I get a diopter that will fit it. If you want more adjustability in your sights, this rear sight with the AF front global sight will give you the adjustability for shooting comfort, which often results in better accuracy.

• Solid build. • Tight tolerances. • Finer adjustment than the Gamo sight and its copies. • High quality construction. • Large radius adjustment knobs. • Positive detents on the adjustment knobs. • Ability to "rezero" the adjustment knobs. • Wide range of elevation adjustability to fit many different types of airguns. • Internal springs to take up any lash or slop. • Heavy duty rail mount. • Made in the USA!

• A second screw knob on the rail clamp would make this sight more secure when mounted on a spring piston airgun. • The windage adjustment knob dragged slightly on the body of the sight and created a grinding sound when the knob was turned. Loosening and then tightening the set screws that hold he knob in placem, while pulling the knob away from the sight body, solved this problem. • The aperture is made from plastic. You have to be careful when screwing it down securely as the aperture could crack if you over tighten it. An aperture made of metal would be less prone to damage but probably more expensive. (The metal aperture from the Chinese copy of the Gamo sight WILL screw into this AirForce sight.) • No sunshade is provided for the aperture. (This is not a problem if you shoot indoors. Otherwise, you can use the aperture and sunshade of the Chinese made sight.) • Much more difficult to take apart to clean or lubricate than the Gamo sight. You need a snap ring plier for disassembly. I don't know if I would change this design feature as it keeps the sight bullet proof and idiot proof. The manufacturer does not recommend disassembling the sight. But as a tinkerer, I always like to take things apart and supertune them. This sight, however, works so well right out of the box that I haven't opened it up yet. It was used in a major competition with great results.

This is a heavy duty sight that has high adjustability and repeatability. Overall, a significant improvement over the Gamo sight and its Chinese copy. While it is more expensive than other alternatives out there, you definitely get what you pay for. This sight is as accurate as the sights on German made Olympic air rifles from 30 ago years ago. While they don't compare to the ajdustability of a current $800 Olympic quality rifle sight , this is truly a precision piece of work. AirForce got it right on this design and I commend them for it.

Very nice !!! Well built and easy to install. POI adjustment very exact -no gear slop to worry about. It installed easily to the Daisy 853c.

nothing

I installed the sights on my Daisy 853c in three minutes. Was hitting the bullseye within 10 minutes. I no longer dread the thought of adjusting the sights. With the old Daisy rear sight, because of the gear slop, I always had trouble adjusting my POI. The new AirForce diopter rear sight it is very easy and precise. I can adust to suit the lighting, pellet or temperature with out worry. I can always revert back to my previous setting if needed. Having this confidence in your sight is well worth the price.
