The specs show that the Pro-Sport has a 9.5" Lothar Walther barrel. We've had a number of customers email us that this is a mistake. It is not. The barrel really is only 9.5" long. The gun has a shroud over the barrel, and the shroud is longer than the barrel. It gives the illusion that the barrel is longer than 9.5 inches. It isn't! The barrel is the rifled portion.
The Air Arms Pro-Sport has earned a faithful following among field target shooters because it's remarkably accurate and easy to shoot.
However, you don't have to shoot field target to appreciate this gun. In fact, you might want to get the .22 for hunting rats, mice, rabbits and squirrels. It's super-quiet because it has a barrel shroud that helps deaden the sound.
The Monte Carlo stock and raised cheekpiece are just a couple of the gun's ergonomic features. Air Arms has increased the amount of area that is checkered on the grip and forearm. If you've ever had sweaty palms while hunting or during a match, you'll appreciate the extra gripping power!
The Pro-Sport has a 12-groove Lothar Walther barrel and comes to you in a tuned state. That means you won't have to spend hours or days fiddling with the gun to make it shoot perfectly.
The weight given in the specifications section at left says 9.04 lbs., but that's for the walnut stock. The beech stock is 9.48 lbs.
This rifle does not come with a scope or sights, so remember to pick up a scope when ordering!

10 of 66 Air Arms Pro Sport Reviews
extreme accuracy, this rifle is very easy to shoot consistently and not nearly as hold sensitive as i expected.great customer service. thanks so much for the help calvin!!!!
Things I Would Have Changedi purchased the walnut stock version and was not happy with the finish on the stock. by this i mean there was no finish on the stock, there was still wood dust from the sanding process at the factory.if you purchase the walnut stock version buy some boiled linseed oil or tru oil to do a hand rubbed finish.
What Others Should Knowmy rifle is extremely pellet picky,Ive tried all jsb pellets and air arms pellets as well as H&N F.T.T. 5.53mm head size with terrible results at 40yrds.the pellet that it shoots is the benjamin single die and crosman hollow points.if you purchase one of these rifles buy some single die pellets to try for accuracy and crosmans to break in the rifle.you may also want to try the crosman copper power pellet
So Far Gun is 5 stars But this Review is more for Rhonda the" Customer Advocate" who helped me with this order. SHE GETS 6 STARS!!! Thank You Rhonda. Pyramyd Air is a TOP NOTCH Company. Thank You PA
Perfect balance, don’t notice the weight because balance is that good. I am 6’ tall with long arms and big hands. The stock is a great fit, really appreciate the fullness of both the forearm and the pistol grip. Craftsmanship is outstanding. I’m picky, and I’m loving the attention to detail in both design and build. Attractive checkering. Shallow cut, nonetheless the crisply cut edges provide reasonable grip. Black Friday pricing incentives really helped make this purchase doable. Thankful for that assist. Prompt shipping, especially considering it was Black Friday weekend. Very well packed, double boxed.
Things I Would Have ChangedWalnut stock is fairly pedestrian in appearance. A nice piece of wood but straight grained, not figured as is often seen. I realize wood is variable and buying unseen is a bit of a lottery, but nonetheless disappointed. Can’t uncock. Known before purchase but still unfortunate feature is lacking. Really nit picking here. Opted for the 10 for $10 inspection. Okay for what it is, but as a result gun then also shipped fingerprinted and with slight scuff near dovetail. Wouldn’t do again for a high-end gun. Knocked a point off for this. Rifle itself is a 5 so far.
What Others Should KnowJust received my new Pro Sport today so these are just very initial comments and observations. Don’t even have a scope yet as it’s on back order. Besides, now in far northern Minnesota it’s full blown winter and d__m cold outside. Will update as I go long with using the Pro Sport to make this review more helpful.
The quality, the looks and above all the accuracy. The reviews are accurate in that this rifle will consistently give you dime size groups at 35+ yards. Would I like to lug it around for hours? I suppose that depends on the day. It took a few years to decide to buy one but now I regret waiting so long. In my opinion its that good.
Things I Would Have ChangedMaybe try some open sights? But then again I get why it doesnt have any.
What Others Should KnowAdds a whole new level of enjoyment gotten from shooting springers. It hits where its aimed.
Beautiful fit and finish (I got the walnut stock). Well-tuned from the factory. Relatively quiet. Well balanced. Open bottom at the loading port so if (when) you drop a pellet while loading the pellet falls right through. Outstanding accuracy.
Things I Would Have ChangedA tad on the heavy side. Small learning curve to load pellets without dropping them (especially if you have fat fingers).
What Others Should KnowI don't think you'd find a better built, more accurate springer on the market.
This is a beautiful rifle and to be honest, this was the primary reason for buying it. The quality of manufacture is excellent and the general fit and finish is just stunning. The blueing is the richest I've seen on any air rifle / powder burner. The checkering on the walnut stock is just perfect and feels great in the hand. The trigger is fully adjustable should you need to, but mine arrived perfect for my taste, very distinct second stage with a crisp break at a little over 1lb pull. I'm sure the gun will be accurate, but as yet I've only put 30 or so pellets down range so its too early to say. Its not the most powerful springer on the market, but I knew that when I bought it and I'm fine with that.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would have loved to have it arrive with some iron sights and as far as I can tell fitting after market ones would be difficult. For the money, it would have been nice to have it arrive in a hard case like FX do.
What Others Should KnowThe cocking mechanism is challenging and takes some getting used to. It takes some time to figure out the best way to hold the thing while cocking and loading and the sheer effort required to cock it was surprising. This I assume will get a little easier over time. Be aware that the action can feel like it has completed its cycle when in actual fact it hasn't. Your clue is the cocking arm will not fold back flush and you will not be able to release the safety. Simply pull down the arm and crank on it some more until you hear it engage and you are good to go.
It's beautiful.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe fit and finish on my rifle is not the same as my TX200 was. This rifle was a rush build and will either require I return to Pyramyd (likely with an ETA of replacement of forever due to stock) or fix the issues myself by buying a new stock and disassembling the rifle. The cocking action is very stiff when returning the cocking arm to the stock, nothing like the review videos I've seen. Hopefully this will loosen up over time, but between the fact that the cocking arm rubs the stock when returning the to the action and the stiffness. The screw taps are roughly done and not filed to remove shavings for the screws that hold the stock to the action, and I think the mounting arm where the stock attaches to the action is either slightly crooked or the stock was improperly made...either way I expect better for an $800 rifle. My barrel was very dirty, I'm wondering if mine was used and put back in a box for resale as new instead of refurb, as it took about 8 patches with Ballistol to clean.
What Others Should KnowAir Arms quality is slipping. Combine that with a recent price hike of $100 and you have a recipe for unhappy customers.
Looked good, felt like a regular rifle, excellent trigger. Only got one shot with it before it failed.
What Others Should KnowCocker filed to return to locked position after first shot. Sending it back for warranty work since there are no more in stock. More later.
Finish ad wood detail is nice.
Things I Would Have ChangedI receive two in row which would not go into battery after firing a dozen or so shots (wouldn't close completely). I did request to know what was wrong with them but never received a response. I have another underlever - a Hermann Weihrauch - so it''s not like I'm new to underlevers; I can't imagine this was any sort of user error.
