    Things I liked:

Great accuracy, good shot count, adjustable and upgradeable.

    Things I would have changed:

Would rather have a standard rail on top instead of the 11mm.

    What others should know:

Trigger was atrocious out of the box but with a couple minutes of adjustments its crisp, clean and almost no over travel. 1 magazine to sight it in and hitting the same hole at 25 yds with JSB 25.39 exact kings. Hit a 3'x3' target 275 yds on the second try. You cannot go wrong with the .25 caliber gun

    Things I liked:

This is an amazing PCP airgun for its modest price point. After cleaning the barrel and adjusting the trigger, I get one half inch groups at 50 yards with JSB 15.89 pellets. It is quieter and lighter than my Diana 56TH spring gun but has the same velocity and accuracy. The 22 version now comes with the barrel band installed.

    Things I would have changed:

Out of the box the velocity is low, 781fps average with JSB 15.89 pellets. As a result it is a 50-75 yard gun. This is a trade off for the high regulated shot count. About 60 shots before it goes off the regulator. Not the most attractive gun.

    What others should know:

Clean the barrel before you use it, JB bore compound works well to remove the preservative oil. Cocking effort is high but as a result there is no hammer bounce and it does not waste air. Adjust the trigger, it is easy to do and you get a light and crisp pull as a result

    Things I liked:

Very powerful, very accurate, very quiet. Really fun and easy to shoot. I paired mine with a Pinty 4-16x44 scope. A real tack driver at 25 yards with tight groups at 100 yards. Most accurate (so far) with JSB exact match heavy MK II , JSB lead free, and H&N grizzly.

    Things I would have changed:

It could use some texture on the forward hand hold to make it easier to grip. And it could lose a couple of pounds...otherwise perfect!

    What others should know:

Check the screws (some of mine loosened ) . And invest in a compressor! It will make plinking more fun since you want be worried about the air gauge.

Back yard friendly although listed as an entry level its not its a very good rifle for small to medium hunting and a good plonked

    Things I liked:

Definitely would have to be the value of the product for the cost, especially since it went on sale for $249. Very accurate, awesome shot count, and there is also a lot of support and tuning and aftermarket parts from the Airgun community

    Things I would have changed:

I would have to start with the fact that if you screw the tank all the way in you can NOT put the fore end (tank shroud)back on. There are videos on YouTube on how to turn the tank so the fill port and the gauge align with the slots in the tank shroud so you can install it properly. This was my only complaint about the gun. It would be nice if you did not have to do this to a brand new piece

    What others should know:

The quality and the shot count are both amazing for the price. I have owned everything from Air arms to Daystate and everything in between. This thing is a shooter

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

Very good out of the box. High shot count. Good accuracy. Decent trigger. Great platform for customization

    Things I would have changed:

Weight. Cocking effort is too high for many users, but you can not break the bolt handle. Sling studs placement and size. Addition of a barrel band for .22 and .177 models. (I have one but usually don't use it. Reviewers statements about shifting POI are a bit overstated). I love side lever breeches and would have paid a higher price for one

    What others should know:

Over the past 18 months, I have probably spent close to $200 in custom parts and have a gun that is far more accurate than I am (sub MOA out to 50 yards), has an extraordinary shot count (130 shots on one fill at 23.5 FPE and 80 shots at 28 FPE), reliable enough to shoot about 20,000 pellets over an 18 month span without a single breakage, miss feed or mishap. If you don't care to tinker and want superb performance out of the box, I suggest looking elsewhere maybe Air Force or FX. On the other hand for many air gunners, a stock Gauntlet is a darn good gun as it is and has plenty of room for easy improvement. My Gauntlet has replaced my AT44W-S10 (regulated) .22 Marauder, Custom Discovery, Custom Maximus, Diana Stormrider, QB78D and a custom Crosman 2240.

This is my first pcp, and it is fantastic for the price, actually for any price. Well built, accurate, comfortable stock, solid, and very nice looking. I also got very fast shipping and it was well packaged from Pyramid Air.

    Things I would have changed:

I prefer wood stocks, but that would probably add about a hundred dollars.

    What others should know:

I have a Hill hand pump, and it takes about 150 pumps to go from 2000 to 3000 psi. This is not hard, and at my age, I appreciate the exercise.

    Things I liked:

Accuracy (This is a hole-on-hole shooter), Shooting Comfort, Cheekpiece Adjustability, Bottle Size, Refill Fitting, Regulated, Power, Modifiable, Shroud Support, Magazine. This is a 5 star airgun, regardless of its shortcoming. Overall, it’s a lot of airgun for the price. My testing using 25.39 gr. JSB Kings logged just below spec in pellet velocity (Max Hi: 888 fps, Average: 885.2 fps, Standard Deviation: 1.9). Using 33.39 gr. JSB King Heavy MK II (Max Hi: 812 fps, Average: 806.62 fps, Standard Deviation: 3.7). The figures are very respectable out of the box, especially the SDs. Some folks have done clean-up modification to meet and/or exceed spec but I am delighted with stock performance. The cocking lever takes some pressure to complete its task but at age 81, I had no trouble with it. The final ¼ inch of the cocking cycle took a little extra effort but it is actually not as horrible as some report.

    Things I would have changed:

Weight (9.3 pounds with a Hawke 4x12x50 scope mounted), Shot Count (low with heavy pellets), Loudness (not backyard friendly), Sling posts too long, Stiff Cocking Mechanism.

    What others should know:

I achieve 24 good shots (3 magazines) on a fill but velocity falloff shows on a chrony at about shot 23 or 24. The manual recommends refill between 2,000 and 3,000 psi but you will drop a little below 2K psi to get to the end of that 3rd magazine, although the Gauntlet would be a lot louder without the shroud internal baffles they dont quite do it for backyard shooting. I am modifying my Gauntlet with a DonnyFl Short Shroud, Air Stripper, and Sumo Moderator to make it more backyard friendly. However, it you don’t have close neighbors to deal with, the Gauntlet is terrific right out of the box. Congrats to Umarex for a fine shooting machine at a great price.

    Things I liked:

nice gun for the price. I got mine in .177, shoot well. at 50 yrs getting dime sized groups. as others have stated it is not picky about what pellets it likes, i had beemans, gamo, premier on hand when i received mine. the premier domed are the best. i had a bunch of pointed ones, beeman coated and gamo, they shot ok , quarter size groups with some flyers. i will stick with the premiers, domed, hollow point they shoot nice.

    Things I would have changed:

    the trigger.

    Things I liked:

Price point, regulated chamber, look and feel, accuracy

    Things I would have changed:

Needs a much stronger barrel. The barrel easily bends and if you bump it just the slightest your groups will be all over the place. Super flimsy and needs re-engineered.

    What others should know:

See my notes on the barrel. If you feel like treating it like a piece of glass, go for it. Otherwise, maybe they'll upgrade the barrel soon.

    Things I liked:

This my first regulated air rifle and now understand and appreciate the advantages. At first the trigger was like dragging a farm sled down a gravel road but it can be adjusted to an above average pull. I like the trigger after adjustment. The accuracy is not a disappointment. My main purpose in buying the Gauntlet was hunting but I'm finding myself target shooting more than usual.

    Things I would have changed:

The barrel needs a support .

    What others should know:

The barrel shroud needs to be tight. Don't lean the Gauntlet against the barrel. Don't pick up or carry it by the barrel. Try not to bump the barrel either. I learned this the hard way with unexplained target group shifts. Now I don't have the problem. Don't judge the trigger as it comes out of the box. Adjustment is easy.

I really have nothing bad too say about the 25 cal gauntlet that i bought - when I load up the gun it fires - Ive gotten all that I paid for and I’m very pleased with my purchase.

    Things I would have changed:

Theres nothing that I wood change for now because I dont have all that I need too really enjoy the rifle completely - with all the information on line informing me of everything that I need too learn will be learned.

    What others should know:

We all need too support each other and so far its whats happening.

    Things I liked:

This .25 cal rifle is accurate and very powerful and I really think this is the best all around deal for the money. The fact that it is regulated is just great. When I ran a quick chronograph, I was truly amazed as it really does live up to it's velocity claims. At 3:30 am when the coons come out to do damage to our property there will be a big surprise! Another thing worth mentioning is mine shoots H&N Barracuda .25 cal hole in hole.

    Things I would have changed:

It does have a kind of a loud report for backyard use but there are solutions to this that will definitely quite it down to easily being backyard friendly. It's a little bit on the heavy side but I'm kind of use to heavy air rifles as I learned to shoot on heavy guns so nothing new to me.

    What others should know:

This is the real deal with both accuracy and power and has truly exceeded my expectations. Well worth first place on the budget PCP reviews.

    Things I would have changed:

Clarity of the instruction manual. Specifically the air bottle location. The manual gives what I believed as specific location of the air fill tube location, but it doesn't say the gauge and the air fill tube can go in either window of the forearm as told to me by Umarex

    Things I liked:

    Power, shot capacity, accuracy, value.

    Things I would have changed:

Forearm is very light weight and does not have a solid feel. I am worried it would not support the weight of the gun when bench shooting or storing it on a gun rack. The .25 cal Umarex Gauntlet has a definite quality control problem. Based on my experience there is a good chance you will receive a gun that is defective in some way. If it wasn't for Pyramyd Air's return/replacement policy I would not consider this gun. This is my 4th replacement and it is perfect and was worth the wait.

    What others should know:

The guns I returned for replacement included the following problems (1) The first gun was very difficult to cock. I had to place the butt of the gun on my waist and jerk the bolt very hard to cock. Sometimes it took several tries. I felt I might break something from the high force required. (2) The second gun arrived with a severely out of aligned barrel. It was so far off it was the first thing I noticed when unboxing. (3) The third gun would not accept the magazine. It appeared the end of the barrel extended too far into the breech and there was not enough room for the magazine. You could force the magazine in however it would distort the plastic and prevent it from rotating. (4) The forth gun appears to be perfect so far. The power is much more than I expected (977 FPS avg for 10 shots based on the 10 for $10 test). I can hit what I am aiming at most of the time. The bolt action is not as smooth as I would like but absolutely acceptable.
