This gun is a tack driver right from the box.. I got this in .30 cal and using the UTG bug buster compact CQB 3x9x32 A) Mil-Dot ir scope (also from pyramid air) and the JSB Match Diablo Exact 44.75 gr pellets after sighting in my scope I was putting 10 out of ten in a single hole at 35 yards (using a Caldwell bench rest). Cocking is very SMOOTH. Using my Caldwell chrono I got 865 fps average between 5 rounds consistently. Ya, This thing hits very hard...

    Things I liked:

This review is about the .30 caliber Airacuda Max: Extremely accurate right out of the box and very consistent velocities. I found no need to "Tune" it. No leaks. Seems well made with smooth cocking lever. GREAT value!

    Things I would have changed:

Need a picatinny rail under forestock. Bottle option. EXTERNALLY adjustable regulator. Variable power/port adjuster,

    What others should know:

I have the .22, .25 and .30 versions, whle they are extremely accurate and consistent, my own experience with all 3 of them shows that if you put a moderator on them, they will clip the moderator. All 3 of mine did and destroyed the Ronin moderator and Buck-Rail, all one caliber up-sized. The .30 is VERY loud, I shoot every day in my back yard, accordingly, I cannot shoot the .30 caliber Airacuda Max in my back yard. Look at the Facebook Airacuda and JTS groups on Facebook to see more comments about the moderator issue. Pyramyd Air support is awesome, especially Adam and Ruth, but they have no information on solving this problem. JTS mostly ignored me and seldom gave me any answer that I sent to them via email. Pyramyd Air offered to take them all back for a full credit with prepaid shipping. It's distressful to send them back because aside from the moderator issue, they are awesome, but a moderator is necessary for me because I shoot 1 or 2 hours every day in my backyard.

    Things I liked:

Accuracy, velocity consistency, fit and finish, beautiful stock and all at an unbelievable price.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish I could use a moderator with it and that it had a picatinny rail under foregrip

    What others should know:

I love the Airacuda Max. I now have 3, one in each caliber. Does that tell you anything about how much I love the Airacuda Max ? BUT, as of now, you cannot use a moderator with it even though the description says it has a thread for a moderator. There is no pic rail for a bipod etc under foregrip. There good groups for JTS Airguns and Airacuda on Facebook. Exceptional accurate (all 3 caliber versions) out of the box (after cleaning barrel and filling with air). I didn't need to "tune" or change factory setting. Trigger is about 1.5 pounds. I have never had a leak. I recommend Pyramyd Air's 10 for 10 service. Usually, airguns have a "favorite" pellet and that can vary between same make and model/caliber. Start with recommendations from Pyramyd Air and the forums. I recommend that you only by premium pellets, like H&N, JTS and JSB.

    Things I liked:

For what could be considered an "entry level" PCP, this rifle is an outstanding value! This rifle, paired with the .22 cal. JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr. pellets, is an absolute tack driver. So much so, that I see no need in "experimenting" with other ammo. I love the side lever, which is smooth as butter. The adjustable cheek riser is a nice touch... something I'd not expect to see on a so-called "entry level" rifle. Well done, JTS, well done!

    Things I would have changed:

I'm not sure how big the air reservoir is, but a higher shot count per fill would be great. After filling to a maximum pressure of 3,200 PSI via my Air Venturi RovAir compressor (I'll be posting a review on that as well), I'm getting 35-40 shots per fill before the reservoir gauge gets down to 1,800 PSI. BTW, that is set at the factory. The option of an *adjustable* regulator would be the icing on the cake for me!

    What others should know:

There's a phenolic doughnut-looking part between the action and the stock, the hex head screw that holds the stock on goes through it. It evidently is used to raise the action up out of the stock about 3.5-4mm, although I'm not sure why that's needed. Be careful you don't lose it when disassembling!

    Things I liked:

Beautiful stock, super smooth bolt action, mags are very well made and easy to load. Couldn't find any plastic on this rifle. Love that it has the attached foster fitting.

    Things I would have changed:

It would be awsome if JTS could incorporate some kind of shot counter into the magazines. I'm just not used to counting my shots.

    What others should know:

Love everything about this rifle, however, when I pumped it up the very first time, the pressure gauge on the regulator maxed out, and when I emptied the tank the reg. guage is still reading 1000 psi. I'm sure this is just a fluke, so don't let this sway your decision to get one. Still an amazing rifle for the money. No regrets!

    Things I liked:

The rifle is nicely built. Great mags, nice finish all metal parts. Handles great and once you clean and then lead in the barrel accurate. Good shooter but does love air. I turned my hammer spring in about 1/4 turn from factory. Getting consistent shots at about 860. .25 cal 25.39 Fx pellets. Easy to reseal and work on.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe I would add a pic rail mount underneath the handgrip, stock. But it’s not a deal breaker.

    What others should know:

The rifle doesn’t like moderators. They will clip and shots go wherever they feel. Kinda bad considering it’s made for a moderator. But at 420.00, that’s not a deal breaker either.

Extremely accurate out of the box. It's a good idea to clean the barrel first. Very smooth action.

    Things I would have changed:

If something breaks and it's not covered by warranty you're screwed. You can NOT buy parts from either Pyramyd Air or JTS.

    What others should know:

You can NOT buy the parts from either Pyramyd Air or JTS. My trigger group in myI 25 caliber Max needed a small spring that holds the safety on or off. I could not get it from Pyramyd air nor GTS. I could not even buy an entire trigger group from either. It looks like I'll have to buy another one (entire Airacuda Max) just for parts.

    Things I liked:

I like that the gun is all metal construction throughout and the Woodstock is nice the magazines are very very nice the side lever is very very nice also.

    Things I would have changed:

Unfortunately the jts max I got if I added a moderator it clipped and it had horrible accuracy it wasn't terribly loud but it was loud enough that I kind of wanted to moderator and I was a little bummed that if I added one I had horrible accuracy but besides that the gun did everything they said it would do .......I guess if I had to nitpick I would want a Picatinny mount added to the stock for a bipod.

    What others should know:

One of the few guns that actually shot its own pellets really good.

    Things I liked:

Overall the fit and finish was outstanding for a pcp in this price range. The accuracy was better than what I was expecting. Shooting the .25 JSBs and the new JTS in 25.39 grains were both one hole grupes, one after another.

    Things I would have changed:

For the money, it would be very difficult to make any notable improvements.

    Things I liked:

Recently purchased the Airacuda Max 2 cal. from Pyramyd Air. After several weeks of shooting, my experience is like most others - this rifle is an amazing value. Great quality and performance. Single hole groups at 25 yards with several different types of pellets and 1/2 inch groups at 70 yards. Doesn't shoot slugs (JSB Knockouts or NDSA 24.8 gr) with nearly the same accuracy. More on the NSA slugs (.217 dia) below.

    Things I would have changed:

One of the 2 magazines furnished by JTS works flawlessly. The second mag was difficult to insert into beech opening initially and very difficult to remove. Seems to be some inconsistency in the sizing of the mags.

    What others should know:

This comment relates solely to Pyramyd Air Support. I forwarded 2 separate emails to Pyramyd Air Support describing the magazine issue mentioned above and the fact that the NSA slugs received (labeled as 24.8, .217 dia) would not load into the barrel of this rifle. All other pellets/slugs with same diameter have loaded without issue. Repeated attempts at loading resulted in the slugs jamming in the barrel, requiring use of a cleaning rod inserted from the muzzle to dislodge the slugs. Removed slugs had deep rifling marks at the ogive. After several weeks, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY RESPONSE FROM PYRAMYD AIR SUPPORT on these issues. Fortunately JTS support's response on the magazine issue has been great.

    Things I liked:

This review is for the 25 caliber Airacuda Max. I mention that because after buying a 22 caliber version I was so pleased that I bought 25 caliber version. So I did a review on the 22 caliber one but I'll just include what's relevant here for the 25 caliber version. Extremely accurate, comfortable to shoot, excellent build quality and fit and finish, superb trigger an unbelievable price (low to moderate). I like the fact that Pryamyd Air does a 10 for 10 check on the gun before they ship it and they furnished the chronograph record. I suggested anyone get this in expensive service to ensure that the gun they received has been checked out thoroughly and they won't receive a dud.

    Things I would have changed:

Debility to attach a bottle would be nice because the 25 caliber version gives you 30 shots on fill. I'd like more. It's quite possible that somebody already has a bottle conversion for it. I'd also like to see a built in Picatinny rail or other bipod attachment device under the forestock. I synthetic stock option would be nice. Less likely to warp and no issues with high humidity and rain.

    What others should know:

I bought an Airacuda Max in 25 caliber a few days ago at @PyramydAir end it arrived this morning. The first thing I did was to fill the gun to 3200 psi. The regulator was set at 2100 psi. And then mounted my scope, a @Monstrum 6-24x50 FFP IR AO, and then shot two cleaning pellets through it, felt pellets, the first one moistened with Ballistol. The second one was dry. Later thoroughly cleaned the barrel barre. lTook me about 10 shots to zero it at 100 feet. The pellet I chose was a JSB Exact Jumbo Exact King in 25.39 grain. I couldn't even believe my own eyes. The cocking lever was as smooth as silk with very little effort required. The trigger came with about a quarter inch of first stage a little over 1.5 pounds.. I made no changes to the hammer or anything else. Did very well with JSB Hades as well. Some pellets (Hades and JSB 25.39) needed an extra little push with a [en or similar do you properly seated in the magazine. A lot of people have been using boiled linseed oil for the

I am so happy! I bought an Airacuda Max in 22 caliber a few days ago at @PyramydAir end it arrived this morning. The first thing I did was to fill the gun to 3200 psi. The regulator was set at 1800 psi. And then mounted my scope, a @Monstrum 6-24x50 FFP IR AO, and then shot two cleaning pellets through it, felt pellets, the first one moistened with Ballistol. The second one was dry. Took me about 10 shots to zero it at 100 feet. The pellet I chose was a JSB Exact Diablo Jumbo 15.89 grain. I'll let the gun and pellets speak for itself, the image is five shot group at 100 feet. I couldn't even believe my own eyes. I've been tried the JTS Dead Center pellets (which came free with the gun). It didn't quite group as well as the JSB. So I'm sticking with the JSB. Decide cocking lever was as smooth as silk with very little effort required. The trigger came with about a quarter inch of first stage a little over a pound. I made no changes to the hammer or anything else.

    Things I would have changed:

    Shot count

    What others should know:

After putting a few mags through it I can tell you it’s accurate at 30 yards. I think my regulator is still “breaking in” because going out to 50 it was getting about an 1” groups. I know it can do better. So far I was only getting about 25 shots before getting to the reg pressure. I think the gun came from the factory shooting way to hot. I will be doing some tuning and shooting it through the Chronograph to find out but I should be getting much better groups at 50 yards. If I compared this gun to something like my Benjamin Kratos I would tell you the build quality is better. The stock is much nicer. Fit and finish is better and overall if I had to purchase one of these a second time it would be the JTS over the Kratos. Not to mention I’ve had issues with 2 different Kratos rifles now and I’m getting a little discouraged on that brand. Hope this helps. Mine seems to like FX 18 grain pellets so far. More testing coming soon.

I couldn't get the magazines into the rifle, the magazines won't fit in the slot. The rifle can't hold a zero, I tried three different pellets and they are all the same. The rifle is very loud, even with my Donnyfl sumo. I own an Origin, Avenger, Gauntlet, Daystate Red Wolf, and when my DAR22 arrives that too; my other air guns are way better than the Airacuda Max.
