    Things I liked:

feels like a real rifle, powerful, accurate, reliable, great for squirrel hunting

    Things I would have changed:

make it just a little bit longer barrel and longer overall length

    What others should know:

it's as loud as a .22 rifle so it is pretty loud for an airgun but it's great for small game hunting

    Things I liked:

The feel, easy cocking, speed. Just an all around good rifle!

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

Scope isn't mounted as stated and was shot in for 100 yards? I mounted the scope, set a target at 100 ft. Was shooting high/left. Adjusting I lost hitting the target altogether. Used a laser level mounted to bottom of barrel with rubber bands to site it in at a wall in the house 75 feet away.. Next day, 2ed try, I was hitting target still high/left. Slowly dialed the scope in. Last 5 shots at 100 ft. I thought I was missing the target again. When I walked up to the target, all 5 last shots were in the bulls eye! This is the fist gun I had and shot in almost 30 years! I think I got the bug back! As a kid thats all we ever did was shoot, shoot, shoot! (anything) The fastest pellet gun I ever owned before was about 700 fps. Shooting those Gamo Raptor pellets and hearing the "crack" was a real surprise! That 1200 fps is good, but not if you want to to be "quiet" at what your doing. Don't need a neighbor report me for shooting a 22 rim fire rifle!

    Things I liked:

Very accurate and great value for the money. Will shoot Crosman Premier HP's, Crosman Destroyers, Gamo Rockets, and JSB Polymags in a 2" group at 50 yards. This rifle comes with a great scope and has a nice stock. This rifle can exceed 1250 fps. with PBA ,and to be honest, sounds like a .22 rifle. It's really cool to hear it shoot in person! However, Youtube doesn't do it justice because the computer can't relay the sound correctly.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing!!!

    What others should know:

Very consistent from shot to shot.

    Things I liked:

this gun is rugged, can take dings and scrapes, shot patterns are incredible.

    Things I would have changed:

i plan on upgrading the scope, only because after using it outside the scope for me has become a little cloudy and it leaves a little desired to get the max potential of this air rifle.

    What others should know:

the first 200 shots will be everywhere. After that, they will tighten up significantly. Also, this gun is HOLD sensitive. For me and my rifle the artillery hold is a must, otherwise i would not hit anything. Just hot the rifle light so that when you fire the gun can move any way it wants too. This gun is a sure hunter-able gun. Head shots on squirrels all day long, Happy Hunting!

    Things I would have changed:

nothing, great shooter. Did not like raptor ammo, half did not seat properly in chamber.

    Things I liked:

I like the power, and the feel of the gun. Accuracy is good. Easy to cock and load. Measured out 50 yrds. Am hitting soda cans 9 out of 10 times. For the value you cant go wrong.

    Things I would have changed:

Scope is OK. I put a BSA scope on the second day and improved allot of the accuracy. But OEM scope is not bad. Deeper recever rails would be the only thing I change.

    What others should know:

If you put a diffrent scope use the old mounts. The mounts on the BSA just did not work out so well. They would not mount tight in recever rails.

    Things I liked:

Here is the deal with this gun...I was a bit disappointed in the accuracy the first 100 rounds. Then the gun "settled in", and I also learned a few things. The flat-head target loads were by far the most accurate rounds! Actually, the RWS rounds I had, proved to be the best of the lot. The Gamo "Match" were the best Gamo's in this gun. However, After a long comparison....I will not buy Gamo ammo. The pointed ammo (master and magnums) sent way too many unpredictable "flyers".

    Things I would have changed:

For the money....it is good. I have read a bunch of knocks on the scope. For me, the scope is fine.

    What others should know:

some comments on this website are right on! The best info is: find an ammo that gives you your best grouping...and stick with it. The super-duper pointy ammo is no good...if you can't hit your target/game.

    Things I liked:

Extremely light weight, but Really powerful!!! I can actually hear the pellets wizzing off into the distance after every shot when shooting at cans 50 yards away. I have taken 3 crows with it at about 75 yards. Mine came with the BSA 3x9x40 scope. Haven't had any problems with it. Zoomed in, makes those longer shots easy!!

    Things I would have changed:

Offer it in camo...I had to paint mine.

    What others should know:

Don't be discuraged by the low price...this thing shoots just as good if not better than more expensive rifles out there. Read all the reviews obviously.

    Things I liked:

looks like a slick gun. pretty light, cocking effort can't be near 38 pounds. barrel shroud is plastic which means no worry about rust on that part of the gun. plus the fluted barrel looks cool

    Things I would have changed:

put some sort of rubbery material on the grip and forearm, the synthetic stock could slip out of your hands in wet conditions. thats about it, the scope is not as bad as everyone says, and the trigger will definitely get the job done for now. maybe for as long as i own it

    What others should know:

the remington genesis is the only other high powered airgun i've owned besides this, and while the genesis feels like a more solid gun, this easily performs just as well if not better. right out of the box after cleaning some of that black stuff out of the barrel it was shooting tight groups while sighting the scope. this gun is a bit touchy about how you hold it, but hold it the same each time and it will never let you down. i've had mine for about 4 days now and its already becoming attached to my shoulder. people who complain about the scope must have missed the instructions on how to focus the eyepiece cause mine is pretty much crystal clear. this gun is a steal for the money, and since it likes the gamo red fires so much it might be a designated hunter, leaving plinking for the other horse in the stable.

    Things I liked:

Great gun for the money... I am using the stock scope that the gun came with and consistantly hitting pop / beer bottles at 33 yards measured out !! No cheating on the distance either... That's with PBA Ammo.... Not into killing, so I can't comment on that subject.....

    Things I would have changed:

My only complaint is the scope creep... Purchased a gamo stop and am not real happy with it.. Cannot figure out the right tool to adjust... I would purchase another brand of stop or another scope..

    What others should know:

I purchased a cheap Plano case and keep my allen and star wrenches with plenty of the PBA ammo on board.... Protects the gun .... You cannot beat the price for this gun !!!

    Things I liked:

Packs a punch. Good pellet gun for the money

    Things I would have changed:

Put a decent scope on it

    What others should know:

I bought this pellet gun to eliminate gophers and jack rabbits that were eating my lawn, flowers and trees. It certainly packs a punch compared to cheaper air rifles I have owned in the past. I can't seem to get her dialed in accurately though with the scope provided. I get it shooting fairly good groups at 30 yards on paper, then go to shoot a pest such as a jack rabbit a few days later and miss. When I go back to paper I see it is off quite a bit. I have taken the scope off numerous times, used loctite on the screws, etc. but to no avail. I am going to buy a decent scope and my guess is it will be deadly accurate then.

    Things I liked:

This rifle has real power. Weight and balance leaves nothing to be desired.

    Things I would have changed:

    Add rings for sling mounting.

    What others should know:

Right out of the box before shooting, I used a bore laser to check the scope "cross hair" to see if they were close at 20 yds. A few clicks up and a couple clicks left and the cross hair was aligned with the laser dot. I had this scope "dead on" at 20 yards after shooting only 5 shots. I've seen where some people have trouble with this scope. I had absolutely no problem at all with the Gamo scope that came with the Big Cat 1200. I highly recommend this rifle!

    Things I liked:

This gun is accurate and hits hard. The scope is a joke but with the leapers scope I bought for it I made several 80+ yard kills. This rifle is good bang for the buck and I would suggest it to anyone new to air rifles who wants a good pest killer.

    Things I would have changed:

They should get rid of the scope and put on open sights instead for those who don't care for scopes and because the scope that it comes with stinks.

    Things I liked:

Accurate, Powerful, Included Scope is decent, clear, and usable. Overall good buy.

    Things I would have changed:

An 3x9 scope would be nice. Decent pellets in the box instead of the PBA crap would be nice as well.

    What others should know:

Make sure you have a T-25 Torx Driver to make sure the forend screws are nice and tight. This is not included in the box. The PBA Raptor pellets included are garbage. If this is the sample that GAMO gives out to encourage us to buy PBA ammo they aren't selling it very well. The stuff was visibly flawed with mold marks and some even had ears on the side making them more suitable as a glider than a projectile.

    Things I liked:

This is a follow up review on the review I just posted. I like everything about the rifle as stated. I love wood, but i am so worried about a single mark on the wood, that it is really not much fun. This Polymere rifle stock is a perfect fit for me, and being a south paw, it makes it all the better. This is the best, all around .177 Break Barrel for the money. if you want manufacturer support., parts availability, stock for left or right handed. Power to take out pest, and super accuracy, a good scope, low cost, the Big Cat 1200 is your best choice., The Scope? It is fine, no problems. Holds zero, easily to sight in, duplex cross hairs.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing..The Instruction manual needs to be more detailed.

    What others should know:

If you think you are missing the rear scope mount stop pin. Remove the scope and look to make sure it is not there. I didn't do that, so I ordered one from GAMO, $2.98 including padded first class mail. When I went to install the new Stop Pin...mine was there!..DUH... As mentioned, I bought the Big Cat used from an estate at a gun store. So I did know the history. Anyway, it is all OK. the stop pin is set up, and the mount is not going anywhere. Note: The stock fasteners, the trigger guard fasteners are Torx Head. No Hex wrench. The scope mount is Torx screws, tjhe rings are hex`wrench. On MY Big Cat 1200. So, email, call Pyramyd Air, get on the list. $140 ! How can that be?

    Things I liked:

The 38 pounds cocking effort seems incorrect. It seems much lower, more like 25 pounds.. The polymere stock is perfect, because I am left handed. And, no auto safety to mess with. If you want to have it on "SAFE"...you set it. Good for inexperienced shooters to learn that they have to make decisions in life. Superb balance, right in the middle of the forearm. Notice the Target Crown in the Barrel. This is very important. I bought my used at my local gun shop. He got is from an estate sale. The scope was missing the stop pin in the mount/receiver point. I called GAMO ( Google for their phone number) the stop pin is in the mail for less than $2.98. Anywhere else, and they do not carry such liitle things, figure on a huge UPS truck coming up your mountain We live in on a mountain. The GAMO Big Cat 1200 is accurate. Dropped in some cheapo Crosman .177 pointy things..all in one hole, bench rest, at 30 feet tuning up the scope. Do not pass this rifle up. It is a hammer. GAMO has super customer support. I think this is very important. NO screwing around for the little things or questions. Yes, I love wood too, but this stock will not make you worry about any dings or marks.

    Things I would have changed:

A much more detailed manual. That is it ! Learned about the scope mount stop pin reading these reviews.

    What others should know:

This Big Cat 1200 kicks. It is loud. You feel as though you have done something, and you have. Be it paper or pest, it will do more than its job if you do yours. Just sit down, and email PyramydAir and buy it...you will thank all of us..

    Things I liked:

Incredi-power, and with the right pellet. That's Beeman Kodiak Extra Heavy -- buy them when you buy this gun, with them it is dead-on accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

It's a finicky eater; feed it the wrong pellet and it will let you know! I wonder if that could be a barrel crowning issue, but I'm getting excellent accuracy now so I'm not going to experiment with jigs and polishes. Whatever the cause, pellets like Crosman Premier that have been quite accurate in other guns I own, were disappointing in the Big Cat.

    What others should know:

I tried nine pellet types (four brands, Crosman, RWS, Gamo, Beeman) with varying success, before I tried those Kodiaks. Beeman's pellets are visibly more cleanly made than the Crosman and Gamos I tried, and each of the three Beeman types I tried gave good results, but the Kodiaks were astonishing. I use a trap with an inch of plumber's putty behind the targer, but now I'll have to change that, because they're so accurate in this gun that at 40 feet (without a rest) the pellets are following each other into the same hole, and drilling into the wood backboard. On impulse I stuck a penny into that clay, and after six shots poor Abe was dead -- split in half by repeated hits.
