    Things I liked:

I liked the 177 cal Big Cat I bought so much I just added the 22 cal to the colection. It took me 6 shots to bring the scope in=3 groups of two shots each. The gun is not loud and is blowing through my half inch plywood backstops even with hollow point crossman pellets! (I haven't used any pba's I don't think they are good for the springs) I found this one to be pretty clean from the factory also didn;t take long to ready it for shooting. I also find gamo's to be the easiest springers to cock making plinking much more enjoyable. Oh yeah at my house three days after order with free ship!!

    Things I would have changed:

The scope. The stock gamo scopes are ok but I find them a bit blurry (I do wear glasses though to be fair) I'll upgrade to a leepers like I have on my other spring guns.

    What others should know:

Best value for your dollar out there! Not toys be carefull and enjoy.

    Things I liked:

It is a very cool gadget to have around. it can be very accurate with the right pellet. it has a good scope on it.

    Things I would have changed:

How picky it is with the type of pellets that it shoots.

    What others should know:

The best pellet by far for this air gun is the crossman premier hollow point pellet.

    Things I liked:

This is the best air rifle i have ever had, i can shoot 100 yards with this thing! great for hunting, i've lost count of how many co@ns i've shot, i got three of them in a half hour, great with hollow point crosman pellets, umm, don't worry about buying a bipod for it because this gun works better without it, the only thing i would buy with it would be the sling and a cleaning kit

    Things I would have changed:

nothing, it's a great pellet gun and it's pulled it's weight on the ranch

    What others should know:

it sounds like a 22lr rifle going off with pba pellets, don't stick with the pba's thou because there way to expensive, watch for the kick back with the scope or you'll end up with a bloody circle around your eye :D

    Things I liked:

its a great gun, black synthetic all weather stock, in .177 it has enough hunting power to take out squirrels at 30 yards. i well recommend it

    Things I would have changed:

the trigger!! its very creepy and takes a LOOOONG break in period to get better.

    What others should know:

for the price, its a great buy! with a grt III trigger upgrade it is an unbeatable value

    Things I liked:

Looks, power, easy cocking, clear scope covers, just an all-around good gun for the price!

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing thus far

    What others should know:

This is a good gun foe anyone that doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a powerful gun. I had this gun now for three month and had no probles with it. The video with this post is to show the the difference in accurcy between the Gamo Big Cat and The Gamo Socom Extreme. As with my review of the Socom, this was shot at 42 yards away. You can see a big difference between the two guns. I believe this would be a very good gun for anybody wanting to break into the more powerful "adult air guns." I tok out a lot of Starlings with this gun at long distance. I'm very happey with this gun over all. In the video, there are a few stray shots, this could have been a fault of mine and it was aso pretty breezy outside.

    Things I liked:

Very, VERY accurate air rifle for the money. I am shooting repeatable 1/2" groups from a sloppy sandbag bench rest at 35' with Predator .22 cal. 16 grain polymer tip hunting pellets. Cocks easily, pellets land on target. After a 300 shot break in with a few brush and cleaning pellet bore cleanings, I couldn't be any happier. My gun has a steel trigger with a long, slow pull, much like my double action Smith & Wesson Sigma 9mm pistol. Not bad, yet not ready for combat. I love my Sigma, and I love my Gamo. Practice, practice, practice. I bought this rifle to rid my property of squirrels, skunks, opposums, and birds, so the trigger pull is a minor issue. Compared to the M14 I trained on, this rifle is very light, user-friendly, and a joy to use. Yes, it is not fair to compare this consumer grade machine to a life or death NATO weapon, yet I'm certain that my fellow Viet Nam era vets will agree to that. They would sure as hell enjoy the Gamo Big Cat as much as I do.

    Things I would have changed:

The standard scope Gamo installs on this rifle is fuzzy, has limited AO aperture, limited range adjustment, and in general is not up to the capability of this rifle. Buy the rifle, remove the scope, and install this: https://www.pyramydair.com/product/centerpoint-adventure-class-3-9x40ao-rifle-scope-illuminated-mil-dot?a=1656

    What others should know:

I looked at alot of different airguns. Money was not a factor of this purchase. After receiving the email of the 5 star rated guns and knowing about the 30 day return policy I decided to get 2 Big Cat 1200. I used the discount offered on the email subscription and waited. As soon as I received the guns I ordered a trigger from CharleDaTuna. I am using this air gun to stay in practice during the winter, as soon as the range is snow free I will be back shooting informal Bench Rest. The trigger makes a great improvemnt. I have less then $175 invested in this air rifle, it works for me, I am happy with the accuracy. It is still new and is consitanly shooting 2 inch groups at 25-30 yards,

The power, vey powerful, and the duaribelty. This gun has been threw alot in the field, Worked good on small game, really makes a good loud thump when u hit the squirrels.

    Things I would have changed:

Scope, but for the rice its not bad.

    What others should know:

buy if ur going to hunt rabbits and squrriels, but make sure u pick the right pellets, maybe some hollow point that are kindly heavy so u can get in 15 and 16 foot pounds of energy.

This gun is accurate! I have had pre-charged guns that didn't shoot this well. I don't know if I just got lucky but the accuracy is AMAZING!

    Things I would have changed:

For the price , I couldn't ask for anything to be changed.

    What others should know:

    Things I liked:

very accurate very little recoil and scope is great i hit a steel barrel 300 feet away and it still kept a pretty flat trajectory it is a lot lighter than a beeman i had its not too long either i'm kind of small so that is good for anyone like me

    Things I would have changed:

offer more rifle stocks and add a steel barrel the plastic one kind of seems a little flimsy and maybe add a muzzle break cause it is a little loud with pba raptor pellets

    What others should know:

if you want a good air rifle like the whisper without the fancy extras this is definitely the one

    Things I liked:

This is my second review follow up. As mentioned before, I like everything about the GAMO Big Cat 1200. The shrouded barrel not being metal coated, means I do not have to rub it down with my Silicon treated rag before putting it away to avoid rust. like I do on my other air guns. Mine has a metal trigger, so Charlie da Tuna gold GRT-III trigger ($32 ) is on its way to be installed. The current Big Cats have a plastic trigger, so the GRT-III can not be fitted. Tom's Blog on this fine bargain said , however, that after 400 rounds, the triger had become very smooth ! In checking with GAMO USA, they state the cocking effort is 30 lbs, not 38 lbs as stated by Pyramyd Air. I agree with GAMO..it is not 38 lbs. cocking effort. Much less. The GAMO 4 x 32 scope is fine! Scopes are like any optical item, say cameras, binoculars, you have to avoid banging them up.

    Things I would have changed:

I would like the manual to be better. It is dumbed down for people not into air guns. Change back to the metal trigger.

    What others should know:

GAMO USA has this at $169.95. They also have it in .22 Caliber ! And, at $169.95. I do not know why Pyramyd Air ( which is my favorite source..) does not offer this in .22 caliber. Anyway, if you are mulling over the purchase of this GAMO Big Cat 1200 , believe all of us here, when you decide to buy it, you will thank all of us !

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

Awesome value for the money i dont see the need to get a more expensive one then this when this will do just as good or better than the rest.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing i would like to change is the big scratch that came on top of mine deep long scratch in front of the top scope mount bummed me out also the trigger and i bought a Leapers Golden Image 3-9x32AO Rifle Scope, Mil-Dot Reticle, 1" Tube and an acu shot one piece scope mount now it looks mean as hell lol

    What others should know:

The scope that came with it is not bad as everyone says its actually very decent i just wanted to be able to zoom in a little more and have a cooler looking gun next im replacing the trigger with a GRT-III Trigger from charliedatuna.com then i will have like a 500 dollar pellet gun IMO thats how good it will be.

    Things I liked:

very light, very easy to cock, very accurate, Ive taken down many squirrels with it. doesnt have very much recoil, has plenty of power. scope is decent for what you pay. pretty inexpensive. not too loud compared to other guns ive had.

    Things I would have changed:

    the trigger isnt great.

    What others should know:

I would buy a 1 peice scope mount just because my scope started to slide back a little bit. I also recommend crosman premeir hollowpoints, they work the best in this gun. it definately isnt silent so i wouldnt use it near paranoid neighbors. great gun overall.

    Things I liked:

ACCURACY! Power. Bout it for killing time in the back yard. Me my dad and 13 yr old daughter all shot very well with it out to 90 ft. Hit 1 1/2 in steel chicken target with ease. Me and dad colored top 1/4 in of pop sicle sticks and were hitting them consistantly. Nickles and dimes no problem. We even shot the plastic thumbtacks out to 50 ft to prove it was a true tack driver.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing love it.

    What others should know:

Very good value for the money. Out shot nephews with their cross man that cost more. Mine hates daisy pellets. The PBA ammo is not very accurate either, great penetration though and they do bounce. Get the gamo sample pack and a couple others to figure it out. Have 1/2 in ply wood for back stop and put targets on a phone book.

    Things I liked:

Its size and weight make it great for firearm practice. This gun is not for anyone who hasn't taken a gun safety course, or can't be supervised by someone who has. Its very loud but rightfully so. It will shoot through a 3/8 piece of birch plywood with out any effort leaving quite the exit hole.

    Things I would have changed:

If this gun had an adjustable trigger, it would be perfect.

    What others should know:

I bought a wide assortment of pellets to find which ones shot the best. After the 5th try, I came across a type of pellet that shot a 5 shot group of less that 1/4" shooting off of a rest @ 25 yds. I quit looking @ that point. I will not say which pellet gave me the best group because every gun likes something different.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing ...its solid

    What others should know:

it does make a springy sound on recoil but can be looked over ...the nitro piston would seem to be a reasonable fix but is it wort just eliminating the sound a spring gun makes ?....more money

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing great gun

    What others should know:

very powerful will shoot through about 5 inches of wood
