    Things I liked:

Good power and accuracy. 22 caliber is nice since I have other 22 caliber pellet guns. Close to 50 rounds with one CO2 cartridge.

    Things I would have changed:

    Add mounting rail for accessories.

    Things I liked:

The crosman 2240 is a very well know gun.The 22cal. is probably one of the most modified air guns around, and many aftermarket mods are available. It's just that good! Accurate, well built,it's been around long enough to have all the bugs taken out.A very dependable ,fun gun to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

This is a classic air gun,has a loud snap at first...very accurate. The modifications to this gun are endless!Buy it!!... and enjoy many years of shooting enjoyment!!!

    Things I liked:

This is a great air pistol for the money. It is accurate and hard hitting as is. I bought mine to mod though, and I made a short barrel plinker out of it.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe make the breech out of aluminum and add scope grooves so a red dot or other sight could be easily attached.

    What others should know:

Every airgunner should at least try one of these.

    Things I liked:

Outstanding Bolt-Action .22cal Pistol. Very accurate right out of the box. I got this 8 months ago and still haven't had to install the longer-STEAL breech I bought from a 3rd party.

    Things I would have changed:

I would LOVE to have BROWN GRIPS. I think it would look even better with them. However I STILL can't seem to locate them from any Vender.

    What others should know:

This Airgun is NOT a toy. The VOL MAY be more then 460.

    Things I liked:

Everything; extreme power, immaculate accuracy even with stock sights, it is a .22, great value, and is perfectly balanced! Definitely Crosman's "one hit wonder" in my books!

    Things I would have changed:

The 2240 is perfect just the way it is!

    What others should know:

Buy this gun, and you won't regret it! The 2240 does use a lot of C02, but it is worth it to get those powerful shots. Don't make the mistake I did; do not put a pellet in the chamber before the C02 powerlet is in because when you try to pierce it, it will leak out completely and you will get frostbitten trying to take the powerlet out of the gun.

Power for the price. Good looking. Good feel.

    Things I would have changed:

I've had trouble keeping site where I set it.

    What others should know:

I've had two of this model over the years and am about to buy a third because the one I have began leaking CO2 last week. I can't get some replacement part sent to me and it's not worth shipping it, paying labor and part + S&H. I like the gun, though, so will order another.

    Things I liked:

Powerful and accurate. Fits well in my smallish hands and has a nice heft to it.

    Things I would have changed:

Sights, plastic barrel band and breech, packing/shipping. I'd really like the option to ship via the USPS....it would save everyone a few bucks, its considerably faster, and they don't beat the snot out of packages like UPS and Fedex.

    What others should know:

These come packaged in a clampak molded to fit the outline of the gun. Mine was packed bolt handle down in the bottom of the box, (nothing underneath) with the usual 4 tins of pellets and a few other goodies on top. By the time the gorillas at Fedex got done throwing it around the bolt handle had worn through the bottom of the box and the front sight had fallen off. The gun itself has performed flawlessly and outshoots my big dollar P3. Huge value for the dollar and highly recommended, even if you don't plan to tinker with it.

    Things I would have changed:

Needs better sights.Woop dee do.Get a steel breach from Crosmans web sight and a red dot Like the 30mm UTG ora scope.

Awesome feel, lots of power, pretty accurate for plinking.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

after 40 or so CO2 tanks, it's started taking about 4 dry-fires to pierce the cartridge, and makes an extremely small hole. When I remove the cartridge, I can hear escaping gas for several minutes. However, this doesn't seem to affect performance at all.

Very accurate for a .22. It was the only gun that was handicapped. I'm missing an arm, after long research it all pointed here a the Crossman 600, but I was told it was not made anymore. Shucks! Crossman I hope you read this. The bolt was easy to handle.

    Things I would have changed:

    Increase the velocity some.

    Things I would have changed:

You do need a screwdriver to pierce the CO2 canister.

This is the most accurate pistol I own out of three! Thanks Pyramyd. Stock up on CO2 cause its hard to put down once you stert shooting!

Easy to load, fun to shoot....Easy to Modify! One of the best platforms to work with. Shoots accurately right out of the box, and with 50 to 60 shots per Co2 cartridge it's tons of fun!

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe put a little foregrip on it. That's about it...oh, maybe a repeating steel breech...

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

You can't beat this pistol for the money...great shooter. I now own 3 of these...one with stock sights, one with a pistol scope, one with a Red Dot sight and all with wood grips from rbgrips.

    Things I would have changed:

The only problem with this pistol is the rear sight which leaves a lot to be desired. Adding a Red Dot sight or Pistol scope makes all the difference in the world especially for older eyes.

    What others should know:

One pistol seems to prefer Beeman Kodiak WC pellets at 21.10 Gr and another prefers Crosman Premiers at 14.3 Gr...still need to evaluate the 3rd. With the stock iron sights I was able to get a 1.10" group bench shooting and with the scope about 0.75" at 33 ft. Velocity values for the two I have tested went from 407 FPS(Kodiak pellets)to 466 FPS (Premier pellets) with an energy value of approx. 7 FP. This is a good shooter for both 33 and 50 foot targets and packs a real wallop hitting cans at 50 and 75 feet. The reason I have 3 of these is I am afraid they will go the way of the Benjamin EB series (EB17,20 & 22) and the Mark I...now they only have the EB22 available and all were good shooters. The bottom line is that this is a great shooter for the money and you do not want to miss out on it.

    Things I liked:

Can't say a lot more than the other positive reviews. This is the most bang for the buck you can ask for. Out of the package, the sights were dead on at 25 ft. This gun is accurate. Sure there's a lot of plastic, but that's fine, considering this is the most upgradeable platform besides the 10-22. I am looking forward to shedding the plastic and building a hot rod from this very capable and well made base.

    Things I would have changed:

Crosman should tighten up the final QA a bit. The front sight was canted to one side...my 1322 came like this as well. I straightened it out easy enough. I can't complain about all the plastic because that would just increase the price. And it still performs fine right out of the box.

    What others should know:

You simply cannot beat this one for the price. And as usual, Pyramyd is 5 stars!

    Things I liked:

Best pistol for the money and packs a wallop.

    Things I would have changed:

It needs a better rear sight and it would be perfect.

    What others should know:

I modified the rear peep sight by very slightly increasing the size of the hole. I am able to get .75" groups at 33 feet and about 40 good shots per CO2 cartridge. Chrony tests for 7 shots gave a low of 383.83, a high of 462.38, and an average of 407.28 FPS. Using the average velocity, the energy value was 7.77 FP. I have 2 of these pistols, and I added a BSA Pistol scope, scope rings, and inter-mounts to the second pistol...able to get .75" groups at 50 feet and hit a large coffee can at 100 feet with a bit of "Kentucky" elevevation. After trying a variety of different pellets (RSW, Beeman, Crosman, etc) of different weights, I found that this pistol likes Beeman Kodiak RN Pellets, 21.1 Gr. the best...best groups and best energy. Crony values above are based on these pellets.

    Things I liked:

    I like this pistol.

    Things I would have changed:

I would put adjustable sights on this like the ones on the 357's. It's a pain to adjust these sights but once you them there they are fine. I musch easier and less frustrating to use the screwdriver for easy sight adjustment on the 357's. I would also make one of these in 177 cal.

    What others should know:

I get about 70 shots out of one co-2 cartridge before the velocity starts falling off. I guess they do sort of make this in 177, it's 2300t but it costs 3 times as much as these 2240's. I have a 2300t and it's also very accurate.

    Things I liked:

This pistol is an excellent shooter and packs alot of energy with the right pellet.

    Things I would have changed:

The only weak area is the rear sight. Crosman needs to replace this sight with one that is easier to adjust and easier to use. A better quality sight would be an excellent accessory.

    What others should know:

I could not use the elevation blade on the rear sight so I took it off. Even so, I was able to shoot about 1 in. groups at 33 feet. I tested several different pellets for grouping and velocity, and the Beeman Kodiaks at 21.10 grams won hands down, with an avg. velocity of 478 FPS and the energy calculation for this weight pellet was 10.7 FP...it packs a wallop. I have ordered an inter-mount, 2x BSA pistol scope, and scope rings for this pistol which I know will improve the grouping an range significantly (which I will report on with a followup review). Well worth the money and you can get some very nice wood grips for it from a variety of dealers.

This gun can be modified to your liking. It is easy to handle and has good power. The price is right.

    Things I would have changed:

Less plastic and better rear sight. Would be nice to have info on modifications. I would like to add stock and longer barrel. Any info out there?

    What others should know:

Good starter pistol. Buy it for the price and modification possibilities.

    Things I liked:

This is a lot of gun for the money - well made and very accurate. I use mine at 10 yards in my basement and this gun can hit the bullseye almost every time (nobody is perfect!). Mine shoots regular old Crosman hollow points just fine.

    Things I would have changed:

Not much...maybe make the grips fit a little bit better as they do tend to have a bit of movement in them.

    What others should know:

In addition to a paper puncher, this would make a great close range gun for those pesky yard vermin like rats an starlings. Also, the aftermarket for these guns is unbelievable...you can literally customize this gun to your hearts content. Oh yeah, one more thing, if you intend to mount a scope on your 2240 make sure you pick up the intermounts (part#CR-459MTC) as there is no other way of mounting a scope on this gun. They are cheap and well worth it.
