    Things I liked:

Beutiful well crafted gun. I was impressed with the detail and craftmanship in this $229 gun. Very easy to cock. My 11 year old son has no trouble cocking it; and I'm sure my 8 year old could too.

    Things I would have changed:

It's a little heavy. With the scope and sling it weighed a little over 8 pounds. Maybe it's 6.65 pounds stripped down.

    What others should know:

It a very nice gun and a great price for what you get besides the next level of gun is in the $400+ range. I

    Things I liked:

This rifle has an awesome fit and balance. Love the sling setup, and the scope is the cats meow. Sill working on breaking it in so the accuracy is getting better. But like the book says it takes a few shots to get it perfect.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing.!

    Things I liked:

Everything. Their given weight is incorrect, the rifle is few grams heavier.

    Things I would have changed:

For me the scope is very cheap. I'm using a higher end scope from Bushnell. But again, everything is perfect with this single shot rifle. Yes everything includes everything(looks-stock-control-power-accuracy-balance) for what you pay for.

    What others should know:

"You get what you pay for." Here you get more then what you pay for.

    Things I liked:

the rifle arrived today pyramydair has very fast shipping the gun came with a centerpiont that seems good but i replaced it with a leapers 3-9x50 ts scope the centerpoint will probably end up on my 10/22 . the gun is very accurate after 100rounds despite the horrible trigger but that will be replaced with the new grx trigger. the gun is very quiet and was almost not noticed when fired the velocity was close to the advertised 800 with lead at 763 average with cph after a few minutes i could hit 100+ yards targets.

    Things I would have changed:

the trigger it sucks after being spoiled by a tuned RWS trigger that is very light and crisp. the stock trigger will be replaced with a grx trigger that uses a ball bearing so it doesn't really matter, the stock could have a longer length of pull to nothing that would raise the price to much though.

    What others should know:

the gun has a high comb so it is somewhat difficult to look through a scope and the length of pull is short at about 13 -13.5 inches but the gun clearly wants to shoot so a custom stock may be in this guns future .22caliber crosman premiers work great and are inexpensive the sling seems cheap but o well the gun isn't hold sensitive it shoots very similar to a multi pump or pcp without the extra cash to get airtanks or compressors.

great rifle...very accurate and feels like quality. Optic is also much better than expected at this price.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger could be better but have yet to try to adjust it. May wear in but not a deal breaker by any means. great rifle and a fair price.

    Things I liked:

What can I say, this rifle is one of the best in its class. Accurate, quiet and good enough for small game and plinking. A little heavy on cocking the rifle (maybe because its new). Probably, it needs a couple of (hundred) shots for break in. The rifle is well balance. You might need a bipod if you are going to shoot all day. My arms got tired after a little over 20 shots from cocking the gun. Nitro Piston is the best way to go, that's why I am sending my Gamo Whisper VH Night hunting kit to Pyramydair to upgrade to Nitro Piston.

    Things I would have changed:

I upgraded the scope. Trigger needs to upgrade as well.

    What others should know:

The rifle came with free Crosman .22 cal pellets. 500 count.

    Things I liked:

I feel this has got to be one of best kept secrets in air rifles. Ambi stock works fine. Scope is a good match. One of the deciding factors was the scope rail. Optic mount is rock solid. I zeroed the scope, then mounted a red dot for the wife. Works great on it! Love the Nitro Piston. Easy to shoot. Loud, for the first shots, Gets quieter and quieter. Mine's a .22 and couldn't be happier. Rabbits don't like it though. ;)

    Things I would have changed:

After market trigger(GRTIII) made a good rifle, dang near a great rifle. Stock trigger was ok. I didn't give it enough time to smooth out on it own. Had only 100 pellets thru it when I ordered GRTIII. After market trigger(GRTIII) made a good rifle, dang near a great rifle.

    What others should know:

Mine shoots 14.3g crossman pellets round nose or hollowpoints equally well. Diablo 14.3's also shoot to same point of aim, just alittle smaller group. Accuracy is very good! GRTIII shrank my groups.

    Things I liked:

Here is my initial review of the Benjamin trail NP .22 rifle with hardwood stock. I went for the standard and not the XL as I wanted a quieter gun and figured accuracy would be better if I stayed sub-sonic. I am in Canada so could not buy from pyrimade air so I bought from lebaron. Out of the box the gun is beautiful. Finishing problems reported by others are mostly absent. Small scratch marks on stock near one of the front screws, otherwise finish is fantastic. Weight of the gun is 2932g, weight of 3-9x centerpoint scope (not illuminated version) is 562g, weight of sling is 57g = total 3551g or 7.8 lbs. I am 6’4” so length of stock feels a little short by 1-2” but not intolerable. The only pellets I have so far are the Crosman Premier HP at 14.3gr. Shots chronographed in my basement about 5’ from muzzle on a Beta Chrony. I did not scope the rifle for the first 100 shots as I new recoil would be more vigorous. 1st shot ever was LOUD – 1016 fps! Shots 2-12 highest velocity 772fps lowest 749fps average 763fps extreme deviation 22.9fps average deviation 4.44fps. Shots 50-60 highest velocity 769 fps lowest 749 fps average 758 fps extreme deviation 19.9 fps average deviation 5 fps. Shots 100-110 highest velocity 763 fps lowest 731 fps average 31 fps extreme deviation 31.4 fps average deviation 6.75 fps. Shots 250-260 highest velocity 745 fps lowest 735 fps average 735 fps extreme deviation 14.3 fps average deviation 3.775 fps.

    Things I would have changed:

By 100 rounds the noise was much more tolerable – I would still wear ear protection indoors but I would characterize the noise as more like a quiet nailgun. After 100 rounds I mounted the scope. At 10 yards gun was shooting 3” below aiming point at maximum setting for the scope. I ended up needing to have to shim the rear ring with about 2 mm of aluminum foil to get it to shoot on target. This is where I am very, very happy – this gun shoots better than I am able to. At 10 yards 10 round groups measuring 15/16 of a inch (outside to outside). 5 consecutive 3 round groups measuring 1/2", 2/3”, 1/2", 7/16”, 10/16”. I will often have 2 shots touching each other. And this is just with standard tined Crosman premier hp pellets! Also the trigger sucks, long scratchy first stage with unpleasant heavy 2nd stage. I then took the gun outside. There was intermittent 10-20 mph gusts of cross winds so accuracy probably suffered some. 10 yards – 5 shots under 1/2 inch with average at target velocity of 709fps. 20 yards – 5 shots under 2 inches with average of 2 at target velocity of 663fps. 30 yards – 5 shots under 2 inches with 1 at target velocity of 635fps. (not all shots were registered by the chrono at 20 and 30 yards and I ran out of time.) Pro – Beautiful gun. Comfortable weight. Quiet. Tack driver. Integrated weaver scope rail. Functional scope. Excellent price. Cons – having to shim the scope to get on target. Crappy trigger.

    What others should know:

P.S. I have subsequently replaced the stock trigger with a GRT III and the difference is night and day. Beautiful, crisp trigger.

There is nothing I don't like about the Trail NP. Very accurate out to 50 yds. Very quiet and no dieseling after the first 100 rds put thru it.

    Things I would have changed:

Upgrade to an aftermarket trigger like a GRT III

    Things I liked:

This is my second review for the NP. I really liked the trigger, once the GRTIII trigger was received and installed. Now, it feels like a single stage trigger, but very crisp and light (a little over 2 lb.ish). It seems like the adjustment on the GRTII just increases or decreases/eliminates the creep on the single stage. To my surprise, I found that I do like a LITTLE trigger creep, but not too much! HAha. GRT II blade felt a little sharp around the edges/bottom corners, so I filed and smoothed it, much better now. rifle is very easy to cock, quiet, lightweight, and accurate with a loose hold and the right pellets. I dont use the free sling yet, but it is nice, and I will use it if I get a chance! Nitro piston is smooth and gives the feel of a medium power spinger in a much more powerful, hard hitting rifle in .22.

    Things I would have changed:

This is a great package for the price point, especially. The adjustments on the scope-adjustments could use lock-downs, but a little carefulness will do (always a good idea to take care of your airguns). Someone who knows what they are doing, or willing to learn, canto do a few simple fine tunings to smooth out the trigger to a very acceptable and predictable point. A good lube and break-in might do the same. Overall, just great at a great price.

    What others should know:

Superdomes really shined, as did the benjamin domes. Then I came across a few spare h&n baracudas in a jar (aka beeman kodiak). these things weigh 22 some odd grains, i believe, but struck 2-inches higher than any other pellet. 1/2 inch cluster of 6 shots. wow. It seems to utilize the energy well and hit accurate. I have to buy some more of these. Think heavy, german, domes. Good buy. Great service. Shoot carefully and be kind to wildlife.

    Things I liked:

The scope was extremely easy to mount; the gun was sighted in within 5 minutes after mounting the scope. I am 14 years old and the gun is easily cocked, yet very powerful and quiet. The gun shoulders nicely with the thumb thru design stock and is extremely accurate. I bagged two squirrels the first day I carried the gun into the woods. The gun is very powerful. Each squirrel has been a thru and thru kill. The Benjamin Trail NP Nitro Piston Hardwood air rifle is an incredible gun for the price.

    Things I would have changed:

The stock finish could be better, but considering the price it's not too bad.

    Things I liked:

Very well made and excellent quality for the price - nice scope - nice stock with smooth finish with “Benjamin” etched on the bottom and crosshatching - sling included - fast delivery. Easy to cock and load and not too noisy at all - neighbor friendly.

    Things I would have changed:

Second stage of trigger too long - tried to adjust with 1.5 turns of screw counterclockwise but no change. Also quite a lot of finger force required to complete through second stage of trigger. Other than the trigger this Benjamin Trail NP Nitro Piston Hardwood air rifle is a well thought out and executed air rifle and well suited for the reason I purchased it: control starling at my bird feeders.

    What others should know:

Here is the thing with break-barrel rifles: The scope is not mounted on the barrel. It is mounded over the Nitro Piston - the barrel is just the end 18”. Sighting in is not consistent. Procedure: I had the rifle stock near its end held in a well cushioned bench-mounted vise. The very end of the stock was resting on a jack stand with padding so that the elevation could be adjusted precisely. The butt end of the rifle resting on the bench with firm downward pressure. First shot: I was sighting in just 25 feet away with the rifle held firmly with the target very steady in the crosshairs and fired. Holding the rifle ever so steadily in the vise with cross hairs aimed at the target I adjusted the scope crosshairs to exactly where the first shot landed. Cocked and loaded - second shot was way off by about an inch - third shot (no adjustment of cross hairs) still off from the second shot and on an on - shot some 75 pellets over three days. The instructions warn you that perhaps 100 shots will be needed to “break in” the Nitro Piston. I am using it solely for starling control at my bird feeder some 25 feet from my window. So far five eliminated. It is serving its purpose but at 60 feet I may not be able to hit a starling. Perhaps with more and more shots the accuracy will improve. Things I liked:

Solid feel, hefty rifle for an airgun. Precise cocking and lock action. Beautiful dark blue metal finish and nice hardwood stock (tip: teak oil the wood). This rifle is a solid quality buy. Very nice to look at and a nice package when put to the shoulder. Great sub 1" group accurary @ standing position with only 200 rounds thru the barrel.

    Things I would have changed:

Include a tube of cylinder lubricant with purchase.

    What others should know:

You'll probably enjoy everything about this rifle (I received a rifle with a very acceptable long smooth trigger pull).

This air rifles easy to cock, easy to shoot not to hold sensitive, Feild target trophys by H&N 768fps. Dead on at 25yds one mildot high at 50yds. Loctite all screws before even trying to sight in. Great buy would definetly buy another.

    What others should know:

The Gamo Rocket pellets work best in the rifle that I have. They rip though several layers of tin with no problem. When I first got the rifle I put some polish on and it really brought out the checkering. If you want a small gun that has power, this is the one to get!

I liked the overall quality, workmanship, scope, and beautiful stock. My neighbor has the 177 Gamo in the same price range and it doesn't compare to the Trail NP Nitro Piston. Best of all, no more pigeons using my roof as a public toilet.

    What others should know:

I haven't had a chance to put in a lot of use but I was hoping it would be slightly more quiet and cocking would be a bit easier. I'm under the impression it does get easier to cock and quieter with more use. However, if you want a lot of power you have to expect comparable cocking pressure, just plain physics.

It does pack a punch when you shoot it; i was surprised when I did not hold it tight in the shoulder; I cracker the bridge of my nose; couple of my buddies who made fun of my mosfortune ended up doing the same thing. .22 cal is the way to go. Very happy with its performance.
