    Things I liked:

Size, weight, balance, sight radius and sight picture, accuracy, and ease of operation. This is virtually a match grade trigger. All that for 30 bux!

    Things I would have changed:

OMG the valve stem seal has blown in less than 400 cycles. Not the piston seal the valve stem seal! what a friggin hassle to replace.

    What others should know:

if you like working on your gun ........ get this P17!

    Things I liked:

This gun is a treasure for $30. It comes with a decent trigger that can easily be improved. The sights, while plastic, function quite well. The mechanism is simple and quite reliable, and the gun feels well in my hand. It has proven very reliable and I have put a ton of pellets through mine. For $30, you can not afford to not have a P-17.

    Things I would have changed:

I have recently inspected and tuned six P-17s and all have had light rust in the bores. Ballistol takes care of it quickly and easily. The crowns at both muzzle and breech require lapping/polishing to remove rough edges. Again easily accomplished at home, and an improvement to accuracy. Check Youtube for improvements.

    What others should know:

Mine prefers 10-11 gr domed pellets........ remove the rough edges on the 11mm rail and on the grips and you will have a simple, user friendly pistol that you will love for a long time.

    Things I liked:

Easy to hold. Very accurate for a pistol. Durable piece for the price. I own three of these babies, one for fun, one for back-up, an another still in package to display on my wall.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not a thing.

    What others should know:

Dont pinch your hands on downstroke.

I was amazed at the quality and power of the Beeman P17 for the $29 that I paid for it!

    Things I would have changed:

grips are slippery, this is minor though. and make available in .22 cal

    What others should know:

Cocking effort is high, the price to pay for higher power

    Things I liked:

This has to be one of the all-time best-bang-for-the-buck airguns available. It is very accurate and has a wonderful trigger. With a little work, the trigger can be made even better, not that it really needs much.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish it had basic target sights rather than the darn fiber optic sights that seem to be finding their way onto everything these days. And maybe some kind of smooth spot and/or something to protect the rear sight from your cocking hand? These are just minor niggles.

    What others should know:

I just purchased a second P17 so I can have one with a scope or red dot sight mounted and one with open sights. I don't think you can find a more fun airgun for thirty bucks.

    Things I liked:

Comfortable fit to the hand, good balance and substantial sturdy feel, not flimsy or toy-like in any way. Sights are probably set at the factory for accuracy at 10 meters, but should they need adjustment of windage or elevation the job is easy and straightforward. I like the automatic safety. My Chronograph teells me that the muzzle velocity is very consistant from shot to shot although the average has rising steadily over the first 50+ shots. This must be due to some "break-in effect" and I expect it will level out at some point. Last 10 shot flight averaged 429fps with a spread of 5 and a STDEV of only 1.6. I am the original Cheapskate Airgunner and the Beeman P17 aka Model 2004 is the least expensive but probably best quality gun in my collection.

    Things I would have changed:

Redesign the exterior shell to remove any non-functional contours from the design, such as the false slide release just above the actual safety slider. The Beeman P17 looks like a generic pistol because it is a pistol. Form follows function. There is no need to pretend that it is a semi-auto pistol. The fiber optic front sight is a bit too large for a target pistol and completely obscures the center of a typical pistol target at 10 meteres or greater. This is the only reason I knocked a point off for accuracy. Set your aim so that the proposed point of impact sits right on top of the fiber optic "dot" and it willl be easier to shoot a tight group.

    What others should know:

Learning to load the pellets correctly requires a little bit of practice. Just remember that the pellet wants to drop, heavy end first into the breech. Just lay the pellet with its "waist" straddling the lip of the breech and a gentle nudge with the finger will let the pellet drop right tinto place. Closing the action requires 28lbs of force according to the manual. I believe it. The last inch or so requires some steady strength. I wear a glove on my left hand so the the anti-glare groves on the top don't grind into my palm, and shift my right hand so that the butt of the grip is in my palm. This makes it easier to apply pressure from both arms to the task. Unless you are already muscled up this will give you a bit of exercise. I am shooting the cheapest pellets I can find, Crosman Competition Wadcutters in the 1250 count "milk carton", with perfectly satisfactory results.

    Things I liked:

I like the handle, the feel, the sights, the weight... everything about this little beast is amazing. This is by far the best gun for its price. It handles cheap pellets well (I've shot away 3 500ct boxes of cheap Daisy Flathead pellets and the accuracy is phenomenal), and is durable enough to be given to a kid to learn to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change nothing... you cannot beat this deal for the money

    What others should know:

This gun is OK for a plinker, but not recommended for hunting. I have used it to drop rabbit, but it took a very, very carefully aimed shot.

This item has no right to be as light and accurate as it is for the price! GREAT trigger! Good sights!

    Things I would have changed:

Sure it's a little tough to load due to the breach location but unless you have hands of stone or Parkinson's its no biggy

    Things I liked:

After a Thorough cleaning of the barrel, this pistol proved to be very accurate right out of the package. I also like the feel of the pistol in hand and should prove its worth for low cost training exercises.

    Things I would have changed:

I definitely would insist that the manufacturer ship their product with a clean barrel not one loaded with dirt and debris. I dont think this is the responsibility of pyramid air .

    What others should know:

I found out the hard way that you must make sure when opening the action, that you must open it all the way with some force before inserting a pellet, or else there will be no compression of air inside the cylinder when closing the action. I also found the JSB Exact RS Diablo , 7.33 grain pellets provided the best accuracy at 10 yards.

    Things I liked:

This is the BEST buy in the whole Pyramid Air site! After shooting with Fiber-optic sights, I've determined these are the neatest things since sliced bread. The adjustable rear sight has the same click directions and dimensions as a popular Micro adjustable sight used on my National Match Target .22's and .45 1911's. Grips are VERY comfortable. The trigger is better than some "Target triggers" I've used in the past. The fit and finish on my P17 is NICE! China might have Monday mornings and Friday afternoons, too ... Mine is a mid-week product, no doubt.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. ..a wood grip option available, maybe... It would be 3 or 4 times the price of the gun, lol.

    What others should know:

My P17 likes JSB Match DIABOLO EXACT 8.44 gr. It does NOT like any Crosman pellets I tried. My lighting was going away during my last group with the JSB's; I think I can get it, reliably, to around 1/2 inch group at 24 feet with more barrel 'break-in' time. It has a beautiful rifled barrel! 5 stars isn't enough.

    Things I liked:

GREAT PISTOL! Very accurate out of the box! I am 77 ,eyes not the best but still able to keep 2" groups at 25 -30 feet. I put a Simmons 2X pistol scope on it, but due to cold weather, I have not shot it from a good rest There is a little learning curve on loading and closing the action, but that is improving with use.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe if possible a loading "guide" but not a big deal.

    What others should know:

It really catches shits and fingers if you aren't careful

    Things I liked:

This is quite a nice pistol for less than $40.00. Seems to be well made, and easy to use. I didn't give this a five star because it's extremely difficult for a person with fairly large fingers to get pellets into the breech. It's buried in the break barrel and I never have been able to get a wad cutter in it. Pointed pellets are easier. The cocking effort is quite high. But for the price, everyone should have one.

    Things I would have changed:

A better way to place pellets in the barrel.

    What others should know:

For the money it's an outstanding gun. Actually, its a good gun all around.

    Things I liked:

This is a fun to shoot, one pump pneumatic pistol. Extremely inexpensive. It is also rather accurate and the fact that there is no spring recoil helps improve accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

Don't really believe there is anything to complain about.

    What others should know:

The gun is difficult for me to load, because of my fat tipped fingers. I did solve this problem with the help of some bent needle nose pliers. I did not feel the gun was difficult to pump and you only need one pump. A little practice and I believe most kids could pump it also.

    Things I liked:

More fun than you should be able to have for the price. I don't consider myself a good shooter, and I am just getting back into air-gunning after 25 or 30 years. The other gun I have is a 1982 Crosman 38T that I recently re-sealed. The P17 is quieter and more fun to shoot, and is capable of greater accuracy than I am. I knew going in that there would be some tinkering that would be needed, but that is half the reason I bought it. What better way to learn about triggers and such than by tinkering with a well documented, inexpensive airgun?

    Things I would have changed:

Not sure what could really be done in this price range. It is pretty amazing!

    What others should know:

Others have stated that it is difficult to pump. I did not find it all that difficult.

    Things I liked:

The trigger is smooth and light and the pistol is accurate! The price is unbelievable at $29. The fiber optic sights both front and rear are a welcome delight because I am 74 yrs old and sighting the pistol is easier...you can't go wrong at this price!

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

Pumping is somewhat difficult, so a young person might find it too hard.

I purchased this model approximately one year ago and enjoyed it so much I bought a second one. Solid construction, highly accurate with a respectable fps. Looks even more menacing with the laser scope!

    Things I would have changed:

    Simulated wooden grips at minimum.

    What others should know:

Can be outfitted with a laser scope, awesome!
