Questions?Description
The futuristic AirForce Texan has long been hailed as one of the most powerful and efficient PCPs on the market since its launch in 2015.
With a near-flawless design straight out of the gate, the Texan received a fully-moderated makeover in 2017 with the release of the TexanSS, which offered shooters the same power and style they loved while turning the shot volume way down. The Texan Carbine followed and provides the same power and performance as its bigger brother, but a little easier to handle. Built as a highly-maneuverable PCP ideal for navigating heavy undergrowth or easy movement inside your hunting blind, The Texan Carbine is at home on any hunt.
Now the Texan's latest evolution lightens up its weight and increases its power, thanks to a carbon-fiber series of Texans in .457 and .50 caliber that sport a 475cc carbon-fiber air bottle and an updated TX2 valve. With its 250 BAR (approx. 3600 psi) fill pressure, the Texan Carbine is now capable of sending rounds downrange at energies over 600 foot-pounds, compared to the 400-fpe of which the original Texan Carbine is capable.
The Texan Carbine features adjustable power for shooting between 2-10 shots per fill, an adjustable buttpad for a secure hold, and a 2-stage trigger that adjusts down to a 2.06 lb trigger pull. Atop this streamlined system rests the 11mm Dovetail rail for mounting your own choice of optics.
If you’re looking for one of the most iconic American made compact big bore PCPs available, choose the AirForce Texan Carbine carbon-fiber edition and see what your shooting sessions have been missing.

9 of 9 AirForce Texan Carbine CF Reviews
The design of the rifle is flawless, very agile while in tight quarters, extremely powerful, craftsmanship is top of the line, feels and shoots like the price we pay for Airforce rifles, if you're thinking about it? Go ahead and "pull the trigger"...
Things I Would Have ChangedI would spend some time on a more substantial shoulder stock design, possibly something that would camouflage the air bottle??? For the price a shoulder stock with some character would be appreciated...
What Others Should KnowBe prepared for a shove from this lil fella, it's powerful! Also expect questions from fellow range shooters when they see it...
Sounds like a real gun.Not backyard friendly.Kicks like a mule.Love it
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowNot for inexperienced airgunners
I have a Texan LSS 457 with a Maddog stock and the carbine feels about half as big. The carbine is loud. I shoot Neilson 240 and 350 grain slugs.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wish Air force would come out with a magazine.
What Others Should KnowThe carbine is very handy.
Everything! I bought the Airforce Texan Carbine .45 one year ago from Pyramid Air. I absolutely love it. The carbon fiber bottle makes the rifle lighter and better-looking. Shooting this rifle is an experience every airgunner and powder burner must have! When I shoot the Texan it feels like a 20 Guage shotgun --without the burnt powder, smoke and fowling! I shoot Neilson. .457 boattail 350 grain bullet and the damage to any target is devastating. The 145 grain slugs blow through 2x4s like they are made of cardboard
Things I Would Have ChangedI would love if they made a 4 or 5 round clip for the Condor or Texan.
What Others Should KnowI own an Airforce Condor and Texan. The quality is A+. ! I've never had any problems with either gun(and this is after 18 months of shooting). Airforce takes pride in their craftsmanship of American-made air rifles and it shows! I unfortunately bought a Hatsan .30 caliber last winter. I followed the instructions to load the rifle. When I pulled the trigger, the entire gun barrel assembly flew of the front of the gun. I returned it the next day. I'll never buy a Hatsan or Umarex again. They're junk!
This thing is a Cannon!!! Its blasts out 246 grain lead at amazing speed with crazy knockdown power. To test the power, I set-up a box full of 5 heavy books and put it on a table. The slug pierced the fist 3 heavy books and knocked the box and tumbled the table over! WHAT POWER! My friend shot the same target in a different spot with a 357 magnum with nearly identical results. Except he had to take apart his .357 powder burner and clean his gun after--not so with air power! NO wonder this beautiful beast is always sold out. Also, I love the smaller barrel length of the CF Carbine. If I lose a bit of foot pounds, I'm not really that concerned. I bought it specifically for the compact 39 inch length. Adding a shroud will give it more length too. But the thing I like is that you can remove moderator when you want.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing except I would pay more for a bolt-acton repeater with a circular clip--- like the new FX .30 caliber (if- and-when Airforce comes out with one.) Other than that, I am 100% satisfied.
What Others Should KnowI added a DonnieFL Emperor. Expensive, but a beautifully-crafted moderator/shroud-- You get what you pay for. The Emperor takes the edge off the report but the slug hits the target so hard, it's hard to muffle that noise. Also Tony at Talon Tunes has a supressor for the Texan. I'm curious to see how it works on the my Texas Carbine CF. I'm saving up now.
good power ,good and light, things a cannon and sounds good almost like shooting a firearm deffinately good experence shooting got alotta power have the older ss model in 457 and the new tank with the new valve is wayyyyy better
Things I Would Have Changedlike all texans the grip feels cheesy to be this expensive of gun deffinately a repeater version of this gun would change the game for the texan, thats the good the bad , my gun came to my house dirty af wasnt pleased by that
What Others Should Knowcant mess up buying this little gun just need to make sure these thing are clean
Man I love everything about this rifle I Ive just included a suppressor and scope. Cant wait for venison season to get here. This piece now will blast that ass and keep silent enough for a second shot on another freezer filler. Best of luck to all out there using the Texan. Thanks again Pyramid Air for great service and kindness sales support. Yall have an awesome staff and awesome products
Things I Would Have ChangedI d change the price, it is high but it is also worth the bang for the buck
What Others Should KnowPreorder plenty of ammunition. Dont be without the lead.
Very impressive power. It shoots rounds down range like a rocket. This is my first big bore airgun and I am amazed at the accuracy and the power the Texan Carbine has. We built our own targets and we are blowing right thru 2 - 2by4 studs at 75 yards with 295 grain hollow points. I would highly recommend this airgun. It is a little loud but that adds to the experience of shooting it.
Things I Would Have ChangedI have nothing to compare the airgun to. Only thing I would like to see is get rid of the 11mm dove tail and replace it with picatinny rail. Other than that no complaints.
What Others Should KnowDo your research so you know how to tune the airgun if you are new to the sport. And get a chronograph.
