The Hatsan Velox PCP Pistol is an airgun with semi-auto operation designed for reliability and performance in a lightweight and compact format. With lead pellet velocities of up to 620 FPS in .22 and 580 FPS in .25, and power up to 12.6 FPE in .22 and 15 FPE in .25, this air pistol provides accurate shots for plinking and target practice.
One of the most noticeable improvements on this airgun is the improved trigger system that results in a remarkably smooth and consistent pull with an incredibly crisp and pleasing break every time. In addition, this is a semi-auto air pistol, meaning the time it takes to empty the magazine is limited only by the speed with which the shooter can pull the trigger.
The accuracy of the Hatsan Velox is enabled in part by the precision rifled and choked German steel barrel that is shrouded to reduce the noise of each shot and increase the steadiness of the barrel for consistent performance. It also includes a 1/2 UNF threaded muzzle that allows shooters to attach an external moderator to further lower the sound produced by a shot.
This air pistol provides a red fiber optic front sight and a removable and adjustable green fiber optic rear sight, as well as a combination 11mm Dovetail and Weaver optics rail. It also has a grip with texturing to offer a comfortable and slip-free hold, in addition to storage for the extra magazine in the bottom.

I like how it's shorter than most PCP pistols at 12". the sights are excellent and easy to use, very accurate for a semi auto. plenty of power, I got the 22 caliber one in black. it functions flawless. I get two full magazines per air tube. I've ran crossman premier hollow point 14 grain pellets and jsb 18 grain round nose.. I have not tried the jsb jumbo monster redesigned 25 grain pellets yet, I don't know what they would do because they turn my hatsan blitz into a bolt action.. I assume it's because it uses the air to cycle the gun
Things I would have changed:first off I wish the pressure gauge was either on the other side, or somewhere else so it didn't stick out.. only because it makes it bulky for a holster. if it would have been on the other side it would be about even with the bolt and magazine tray. I'm not too fond of changing air tubes, for a couple reasons, under pressure it's fairly tight, but my biggest problem is knowing how much air pressure is in it and worrying about it flying off when unscrewed.. but it's not a issue as it works properly. would always be nice if it was a little bit lighter.. but honestly it's the best you can get in a PCP pistol without spending over $1000 on a huben gk1, or evinix viper. another thing is that I really wish pyramid air had a holster for it, but it is new and I am fortunate to have the gun.
What others should know:when it gets low on air it will fire a little bit funny, the shot #20 sounds like a double fire but only one pellet, so it's listed as 19 shots and it does #20 ok .. pyramid air is a really good place to buy from and I talked with Matthew and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. seems like most of the time I get Matthew and I really like how he answers your questions and once he didn't know the answer and got back to me the next day.. you can't really get better customer service than pyramid air. I have 2 PCP pistols, this hatsan velox and a umarex notos in pistol form.. I much prefer the size of the velox.

What others should know:Under low power it will shoot multiple bursts with a single trigger pull. Two clips one FULL tank and there are no issues. Shoot off a 1.6L tank over 100 rounds and NEVER A ISSUE! WIth a moderator off a Sind bag a consistent 2” group at 25yds through a 1/2” plywood! Lots of fun!

Can you shoot slugs out of the velox
I don't know, I normally shoot crossman premier hollow point 14 grain and jsb 18 grain round nose. but I went ahead and tried jsb jumbo monster redesigned 25 grain pellets and they shot well and it cycles properly. they were low since I was shooting 50 yards. I realized that I miscounted how many pellets per fill.. two full magazines of 12 rounds. and they all shoot well until the last pellet, it's slightly less powerful and sounds different.
How's the trigger feel on this .22 Velox? Smooth and crisp or can you feel it dragging the magazine around?
smooth and crisp, I was surprised how good it is since my hatsan blitz is a very heavy trigger pull.. myself I am very happy with the gun and I would recommend it. also I would recommend getting 2 extra magazines so you have matching air capacity and magazines..
just curious, I have a Omega trail charger compressor and I got to wondering how many pumps it takes to fill the velox with a hand pump. it fills very quickly with my compressor but I was thinking about getting a hand pump for backup or if I want to take it somewhere thank you

What others should know:I have a 22cal. I have shot approximately 250 rounds through it. Good point is that it is quite accurate . Bad points are: First shot or two blows the bolt back too far so that it locks in the aft position. It doesn't get close to its maximum shots per charge. By the time you get to the 14th round it gives up the ghost and will fire 2 rounds at the same time. Overall a good entry level gun but with a pressure regulator and some tweaking it could be a very good gun.
