3 of 3 Dan Wesson 8" Airsoft Reviews
An amazing weight to it good build really sturdy and soo realistic
Things I Would Have Changedthe plastic grip id make it a better quality
What Others Should KnowThis can easily break skin and is super accurate
and an easy way to load the gun without taking out the shells is using the front of the rotor
Great pistol, accurate with plenty of power. Looks and feels t just like the original. I would choose this gun over the steel BB version ( I have both). Both power and accuracy are better than the BB version plus I think the safety factor is a little higher with this model. Try it you won't be sorry.
Things I Would Have ChangedInclude 12 shell instead of just 6
What Others Should KnowHeavier BB's are more accurate with this pistol I use 0.3 gm and they work great. I would get an extra 25 shells if you are going to shoot outdoors, it's easier than trying to reload the shells without a surface to work on.

Well, this is just a monster of an airsoft pistol! The velocity is extreme and accuracy is extraordinary. Despite the fact that I don't think there is a hop up mechanism in this gun, it shoots quite accurately with a fairly flat trajectory, just due to sheer velocity. With my particular gun, I'm seeing 475 + fps with .36's! (on a warm day during the first 20 or so shots of a CO2) I've put a low profile panoramic dot sight on mine and have found that this actually functions quite nicely as a sniper "rifle" in skirmishing. It has a very predictable ballistic trajectory similar to a pellet as opposed to the curious perfectly-straight-then-sudden-drop trajectory of typical airsoft projectiles imparted with back spin. So, I can carry something with the range of a powerful spring rifle in a holster! CO2 usage is extremely efficient. I can't give a count per powerlet because I have not yet been patient enough to keep track. I would guess it's much more than 80. It's quite solid & rugged.
Things I Would Have ChangedThere is a very minor issue that can occur where the cylinder can get pushed back too far on its axle which makes it impossible to close it. You need only push it bak forward to remedy the situation, but it is a little annoying. Also, I find that with mine, the cylinder doesn't swing out quite far enough for the speed loader to operate as smoothly as it should. What I'd really like (but will not likely see) is a control to attenuate the power of this thing for skirmishing. It's just too powerful at close range. (though full power is excellent for extreme long range) The product states 2.7 joules, which is nearly double the power of a standard GBB. Though, I suspect it may well be more powerful than that! Keeping in mind the variance between individual examples of the gun & environmental factors, my chronograph is showing my gun shooting .36's at around 475 fps. From that, I'm calculating a punishing 3.77 joules!! That's just not at all cool at close range in skirmishing IMHO.
What Others Should KnowWhile the mock cartridge/speed loader thing is neat, It is unnecessary and completely too fiddly to do in a skirmish situation. Luckily there's a way around that. Simply point the muzzle up, and using either a speed loader or an airsoft bottle with one of those little nozzles, spin the cylinder under the loader/nozzle allowing a bb to fall into the FRONT of each of the fake bullets from the FRONT of the cylinder until they are all full. Usually the spring loaded mechanism that forms the seal between the mock bullet and the barrel will push the bb's past the retaining ridge in the mock bullet, but you should push them home with the tip of your finger as you rotate the cylinder just to be sure. Thus, you are loading the gun quickly and efficiently without ever removing the fake cartridges. It takes about 10 seconds with practice. Skirmishers: some fields will not permit you to use a pistol this powerful on the filed, but if they do, be cool, don't deploy this at close range!
