    Things I liked:

After barrel break in about 1,000 shots. It's a great shooter at 20 yds one ragged hole the group opens up slightly at 33 yds. And I killed a squirrel at 40 yds.

    Things I would have changed:

I had to replace the base plate it became lose and the screws striped. And now the scope is bad. To Focus at 30 yds I have to set the AO on 75 yds and maxed out at 50 yds. Also poi shifts after adjusting power ring or AO. And had to replace it also. The trigger is stiff a few times I checked to see if it was off safety. But after you learn where it breaks it's shootsble.

    What others should know:

My rifle really likes crossman premier hollowpoint 14.3 gr. By far the best shooting pellet I've tried.

    Things I liked:

This is the second time I am writing something about this rifle. The more I shoot it, the more I like it. It is really a great gun. I can hit a 1" target dot consistently shooting offhand at 10-15 yards using the package scope. I am more satisfied and impressed with this rifle every time I shoot it.

    Things I would have changed:

    A better trigger.

    What others should know:

So far, fingers crossed, it's the cat's meow.

Lots of power! Apparently well made. The test of time will tell? I would like to add.. Pyramyd Airi is the best way to get your air gun and supplies.. Bar none!

    Things I would have changed:

Doesn't do well in cold wether, accuracy wise. Front site should be better protected.

    What others should know:

    A challenge to shoot accurately!

    Things I liked:

It took less then 10 rounds to site in the factory scope, Good power and accuracy and is very consistent with the jsb match diablo 18 grain pellets

    Things I would have changed:

the safety has some play to it, id definatly like a more sturdy feel for a safety. 1 more thing a place for a gun sling would be a nice option as the gun weighs over 10lb with the scope on, it would get a bit heavy if out in the field.

    What others should know:

look over the gun and tighten up all the screws you are able to get at I was able to get a half turn on all bolts, but overall a very sturdy and well made gun.

    Things I liked:

I purchased .22cal about a year ago. First thought was very front heavy. I cleaned barrel and shot about 30 rounds. The trigger is gritty and my guess at about 8 pounds. Disasembled rifle and polished surfaces of trigger mechanism.(luckily read a review that said trigger pins will easily fall out, I used electrical tape to secure them}} Used loctite on all screws in reassembly. Trigger smoothed out but still around 6 pound pull, maybe a hair more. Mounted scope (great article on PA by Mr. Gaylord on mounting scopes} Sighted in at 30 yds planning on shooting out to 50.{article on PA about sighting scopes} shoots well from 20 to 50, with about 1 inch holdover at 50 using H&N 18.21g Hunters. Scope has held up well through at least 8 tins of ammo. Sighted in using a grip like centerfire rifle, Octane didn't seem to like artillery hold. I am getting great accuracy off shoulder. Wasn't sure about thumbhole stock but i love it, shoulders well and comfortable.

    Things I would have changed:

    Trigger. Somewhat front heavy.

    What others should know:

Few months after receiving rifle, here are some chronied speeds. HN Hunters 18.21g-average of 732 fps. Crosman 14.3g H/P average 842 fps. Not quite what i expected , but plenty of power. Will chrony again soon and report findings.

    Things I liked:

Power, accuracy, decent scope, quiet. I like a pistol grip. Stock is a good length. Balance is good. Adjustable comb is nice, but a bit slippery. Slap some duck tape on it and you're all set.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger staging is not the smoothest, BUT-- I have only put 200-250 pellets through it, so never mind.

    What others should know:

I really like this combo. 4 starlings, >20 degree + angle, all headshots at 30 yards. That's is an awfully good rifle for $170.00.

    Things I liked:

Good looking, solid feel, scope is usable. Trigger seems crisp but heavier than I expected. Have'nt put a lot of rounds through it yet, still learning how to shoot a gun like this.

    Things I would have changed:

Since I purchased this for hunting small game such as squirrels and these guns are heavy, attachments for a sling would have been nice to have.

    Things I liked:

I have the .22 caliber rifle. This thing is a brute and is very accurate. Took several pellets to find the right ones but now it will eat the bulls eye out of a target with no problems.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope rings are cheap but once I changed to quality rings it was sweet. Not much else to complain about on this baby.

    What others should know:

if you want something that will shoot, shoot, and shoot some more...... look no further. My arm eventually gives out from cocking it but that is nothing to complain about. That just means I'm having the time of my life. It is a great little hunter too. Quick, clean kills. I can't say enough good about it. Go buy one for yourself.

    What others should know:

This could likely be the best air rifle you will ever own in this price range. It is for me, out of several. Have in both .177 & .22. Both are etremely accurate and powerful. Worth giving a try to judge for youself. PA is second to none in purchase process, packaging and shipping. Very pleased with this and many purchases from Pyramyd Air.

    Things I liked:

The Umarex Octane .22 caliber is awesome... I traded up from an Octane .177 in order to hunt bigger varmints... But did not lose any power, accuracy or features. The sight was quick to adjust and sight in... I have shoot over 200 pellets now and tried several different pellet styles(pointed, hollow point and domed)and brands (H&N, RWS, JBS and Crosmman). I prefer the 14 grain pellets for targets but the larger grain are great for hunting... Other more experience hunters and shooters and used my gun and plan to buy this rifle.

    Things I liked:

Look, this ain't an Air Arms. But, that said, the trigger is pretty good, it is possible to cock it, if you try hard and it shoots like a bandit. Very, very fast and really accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

Stock is very minimal, even skinny and the sights can't last long as they are some kind of BB gun plastic.

    What others should know:

Considerable recoil, like all the gas guns. I'd say it would kill an non air gun scope pretty quick. I took the scope off it to save for another purpose.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

I own both the .177 octane and the .22 octane. The .177 was fairly easy to sight in using sights. Within a few minutes of receiving the octane .177, I was able to sight in with about 10 shots. Will save the scope for later if I need it. I have tried lightweight pellets (crosman ssp 4 grain and daisy 7.2 grain) they both broke the sound barrier. The 4 grain was really loud and the 7.2 was just a little loud. I barely noticed the daisy pellet. The safety sits just in front of the trigger inside the trigger guard. Nice feature. One fluid motion backwards.

    Things I would have changed:

The weight of the octane in either .177 or .22 are heavy. 9.5 pounds is quite much for an air rifle. The octane does seem to be a little long as well. The cocking of the octane in either .177 or .22 is quite much, although that tends to be the power that you are cocking.

    What others should know:

If you have a hard time getting the .22 octane to hit paper, you might want to install the scope. Mine shot low with the sights. Then after the scope was on, I was able to dial it in better.

    it's heavy!

    What others should know:

Be careful where you point this thing!! Accurate? Heck yea it is. Mine is .22 cal it was dead on right out of the box with open sights. It has around 65-75 rounds now so I will mount the scope. It is getting quieter the more we shoot it. I think it is very quiet for such a big gun. Blew right through a squirrel at 25 yards, and at 40 yards it goes halfway through a 2x4. Left squirrel with a very surprised look on his face. I would recommend this rifle.

    Things I liked:

This is a very accurate out of the box rifle with a good trigger and even a good scope, something very rare on a 'rifle package'. I bought it in .22. It has good iron sights. It is also extremely quiet for a 1000fps + rifle and has good balance. Very good for squirrel hunting. As good as a .22LR with subsonics.

    Things I would have changed:

    Can't really thing of anything.

    What others should know:

No. It is a fine rifle, if you don't mind synthetic stocks. I actually prefer them if I am going out to the woods for a couple of days. No swelling or dings and dents to worry about.

    Things I liked:

After about 500 pellets it is right on target about a dime in size groupings. It hits hard has alot of power to it, I shot into a phone book of which is 1,000 pages at close range it went right through it..

    Things I would have changed:

    The trigger is abit heavy..

    What others should know:

I have had this pellet rifle for 3 weeks now, the other day I went to cock the rifle the screw behind the trigger guard dropped out and onto the floor and the rifle was coming out of the stock from where that screw was at. So I unscrewed the two screws at the front and lifted the stock off, the trigger mechanism was off to the side a few pins csme out of which there are 6, I put the pins in and noticed one pin I think it was to the right of the secondary sear would not come out it was bent, just wonder in time would that pin get more and more bent then the rifle will not operate, wonder if Umarex is aware of this.
