This heavy rifle needs a sling

Right out of the box this rifle would not hold air. When I placed my order in 2018 I ordered .50 ammo and air bolts - whoops, this rifle takes .510 ammo anything smaller falls out of the mag and down the barrel. I regret the purchase of air rifle, very disappointed.

The floating barrel, plastic shroud, the gun fires pellet from a mag not the breech very unsafe. No accuracy after first shot.

Garbage! Dont waste your time. Ordered 2 years ago waited all this time and is pure junk. Fired once and blew o-ring in breech, mag supplied would not eject bc the tolerance is not right. Bought 5 mags, only two even work. Second shot out of mag never gets closer than 2" and not just me i sent to Veradium to test and fix the mag. They got same and 80 hours into trying to design mag that works still garbage. I guess its okay if you want a single shot, but its terrible quality and still full of bugs that apparently cannot be sorted out. I am very disappointed and am not alone. Almost all serious airgunners Ive talked with about it say the same thing, what a joke. Save your money and get an Airforce and not worry about a gun blowing up in your face thats not even accurate past 1st shot.

It has very good accuracy and a good trigger for hunting. While it is a little heavy the balance is very good for shooting offhand. The power is just as advertised. Heavy bullets hit so hard it is shocking.

I had problems with the action after just six shots ending with the bolt handle breaking off. I returned the rifle for a refund because I was afraid it might have a design problem.

Umarex is a good american company so I hope others have better luck.

Great looking gun. I received it about two weeks ago. Unfortunately I cant comment further because it has an air leak. It lost about 800psi in one week. Im sending it to Umarex today.

Test for air leaks before going to the range.

It arrived as promised, only 24 days late. But way better than other complainants. Its here, its here!!! Da plane, da plane!!! I'll update after I have a chance to shoot. Btw, came well boxed, two mags, owner's manual, gun, 6 bullets, and free T-shirt (XL, I'm a XXL guys in case you're wanting to fix this)

I ordered it in March and was supposed to receive it in April. Then I was supposed to receive it in August. Well, look what Hurricane Laura blew in! Damn I'm happy. I wanted it before hunting season so I could have it ready and got my wish. Maybe 2020 ain't so bad after all. But, I still need to shoot it. Waiting on booster pump from Maddog and ammo from Mr.HP as soon as I can order both. I'll update my review after I shoot a few times and become familiar with it. Good luck to the rest of you guys. extend forestock for better protection of air supply and add an additional screw for stability of forestock include sound suppressor available at donnyfl.com larger air supply more shot availability allow bird shot capability, buckshot too?

Great Looking , feels nice, of course the POWER!!!!! got a ..... notebook 5"x5" inches from umarex in the box, and a cool pen!

I would attach a barrel band to the N/A tank being a floating barrel with 1 set of threads attaching it to the gun (or offer something), maybe a manual in the box.... , for the money a second magazine wouldn't hurt that's about it

I won the 2018 wish it/win it contest first prize, i wished for this hammer , a thermal scope, an air venturi 4500 compressor, 2 boxes of ammo, and a trigger lock, i just received this after the long wait, and it was WORTH every second.it feels solid, it shoots accurate at 50 yds (i have no longer distance to shoot now), i've put about 20 rounds through it since receiving it Sunday august 2, and have not had any issues mentioned by other users online. I'm totally in love .

not much, paper manual in the box? the pen was nice , and the 6 350gr HP you give, but a paper manual to hold would be nice.

Great gun, LOUD. Not a back yard gun, i was skeptic of the power, but its all there very impressive and well built ! good job umarex!

The Hammer is a few inches shorter than its competitors. This makes hunting in the brush a little easier. The two round magazine and the super easy bolt action make followup shots a breeze. With 350 grain slugs, the Hammer easily gets 1 inch groups at 50 yards without really trying. The power is there to take on most NA large game. Unfortunately Umarex changed their tune about being able to use sabots and only recommends full lead slugs. Trigger has a nice break and the balance of the entire air rifle is nice, albeit heavy. Included booklet is nice, with easy to follow instructions and photos. Air fill from a newer compressor takes 10 min to 3000 psi, another 10 for 4500 psi.

The Hammer is not ready for full production yet. The gauge, O-ring and inner valve is prone to air leakage. The hand guard is way too close to the carbon fiber bottle, so when you add m-lok accessories, they do not fit at all or scratch the air bottle. Ridiculous that it doesn't come with any sling swivels or even studs to mount a sling. The Hammer is heavy and would be undesirable for carrying on a long hunt without a sling. I would of preferred sling studs and swivels over the free t shirt and barrel sock they give you in the box. The field safety screw appears unneeded and its position is going to hinder left handed shooters. Fill valve and gauge would benefit being on the same side. The Hammer should come with the option of a small muffler as it is VERY loud.

I've "owned" my Hammer since early February but have only had it in my possession for two weeks. There was a heavy air leak upon receipt. For the past 8 weeks, my Hammer has been back at Umarex repair for 6 of them. Umarex Customer Service is clueless about this item right now. When I phoned them for my issue, I was told everything from "to just dryfire it several times," to "remove the air bottle and examine it.." The later of course being the worse advice since you cant and are not supposed to do that. When I received my Hammer back, it was still leaking large amounts of air and had to be returned a second time. Very disappointing and troublesome boxing it all back up and driving yet again across town to a shipment store. I was eventually told by one of the designers that the Hammer appears to have issues with air leaking in 3 different places. An updated version to replace the current is very much needed. This would be a 5 star item without the quirks.

I haven't fired the gun yet! I do not have a scope or air compressor. It is really a nice rifle and fortunate to have one!

The manual needs to be bigger, for larger print to read. It's very difficult to read to help familiarize the rifle.

Be ready to spend a lot of money for accessories for you to fire this rifle!

I like almost everything about this rifle it feels great, looks great, and it has some serious power

The only thing that I am a little worried about breaking is the magazine release it seems like it could possibly be a issue if you are not careful

I am not sure if this is in the description or not but you will need slugs sized to .510 I ordered air venturi .50 slugs and they were too loose they slid right through the magazine so I decided not to use them
