I've had the .22 model of this a/g for a while, and its great, I've alway's been into springers, and this is my first venture into pcp, What a difference, Coming from a host of top of the line springer's, (Cometa Fusion Premier.22, as one example)This blows it away. I'm getting close to 1000fps with H&N FTT 5.54mm(16-gr,.),and with 9gr Prometheus Hunters,I get close to 1140fps, and thats with deadly accuracy, Accurate enough to knock off a 25pd Racoon 75ft up a Pine Tree, and it was dead before it hit the ground with a head shot!. If you hunt with your a/g's, then this is your gun, after you get used to the shooting cycle, You'll be squeezing them off like Chuck Conners, But seriously, This gun is awesome!, Very easy to get your line of sight, and you keep it, even going through the pumping cycle, It's a polymer stock, but it's rock hard, not like the plastic Crosman Uses (Crosman M4177, as an example). Choosing the right ammo for this shooter may be a challenge, I've found that alot of my favourite pellets don't cycle well, It's a shame, I really like hunting with Skenco Metal-Tipped Ultra Mag's, but they're just too long, As with most of the point's in my arsenal, I However, I did find it shot excellent with H&N SilverPonts(17.10gr,.) In domes, the only pellet that was a little too long was H&N Baracuda's, Hunters, H&N Field Targets, Silouette's, FTT, FTT Power, Gamo Pro Hunters/Hunters, AirArms FX SmoothTwist pellets all performed well and left everything in the black @ 20M
Things I would have changed:The weight!,,It's a heavy gun, and w/ that kind of heft, It should come with factory swivels, a shot-gun sling will be hard to place on this gun due to it's configuration.Any swivel attachment should be done professionally. Also, Magazine placement should be more internal, Too much of it is sticking out, and makes scope placement problematic.
What others should know:Finding Optic's for this Beast may become a problem, If you plan on using a standard scope, You're going to need high mounts, and an Objective of Less of than 40mm, a Red-Dot may do the trick, but the rail's are a tad too thick for any Q/D type of mount. I put a JGBG M8 3.5X40 I/R, Integrated Laser on mine, and it fit's just right, and performs Extremely well with this gun, and doesn't add alot of weight.Get yourself extra magazines, I found that 6, will get you through all of your gun's power shots per fill-up, I also sprung for an extra air cylinder, tossed in my rucksuck, provides me with me more than enough air for a day in the field. Once you get used to this gun, It should become the pinnacle of your collection, It's very well built,a fantastic trigger, This gun should provide you with years of good shooting/Hunting. Chher's, and Happy Huntin', Andy.

The feel of the gun, the way it throughs up. Power and accuracy.
Things I would have changed:The magazine, the design and better metal quality of the cycling mechanizm. Also, tolerances vary from one rifle to the next. I've given up on the PA and hope to never own another.
What others should know:The pump action is too abupt, too forceful! I've spent countless hours freeing a jammed magazine from the breech due to a pellet. It cycles better with lenghly round nose pellets. I've returned the 3rd gun Pyramids sent me and hope to never own another. Buy the side lever action AT44 rifle . With a little finese, jams can be avoided.

It has good accuracy and easy to adjust with open sights. Decent power and shot count.
Things I would have changed:The bluing on mine is terrible, with scratches and patches of pare metal shining through.
What others should know:The AT-44 is the Mosin Nagant of air rifles. It is crude, heavy, unrefined, terrible bluing, gritty trigger and action. All that being said, it works as it should without grace.

.25 caliber long. A desktop stapler makes more noise than this gun. Accurate and kills on first shot. 9 shot bolt action. Like all safeties once you use it a few times it becomes automatic. Price vs return is 100% I use a red dot scope so can't speak to open sights. Thinking of switching to prism scope because red dot has become a coma.
Things I would have changed:It's is HEAVY. I think they should give you the gun for free because I see the ads ons going like this. I own hand pump $85 refurbished Hatsan. Works adequate as long as I keep the gun topped up 30 to 40 strokes. Investment #2 compressor $300+ investment #3 SCBA tank and fittings $300. I'll have a $1000 into a $250 gun and then I'll need to buy another $500 gun and $200 prism scope to make the $1000 compressor tank combo pay. It's like eating a $25 meal to wreck a $100 buzz

open sights mainly, but so far am impressed with this rifle, very quiet.
Things I would have changed:forearm is slick not to my comfort put on a rubber peel and stick mat.
What others should know:Out of the box no adjustment pow dead on at 35 yards. the fill probe is male threads make sure you have proper fittings to use. rifle is a bit heavy but not bad. I have no complaints. The only noise i hear is the "ting" on squeezing trigger. I am using JSB 16 gr cylindrical pellets in 177 cal. well worth the price.

Right out of the box the sights are accurate. My rifle needed 5 clicks right and 10 up and laser on 30 to 50 yards open sights. I put on a generic Gamo scope that was from my Hunter Xtr .25 and used WestHunter Optics Precision Picatinny Scope Rings, 1 Inch 30 mm Adjustable Height and have them 2 bars up adjusted (adjustable height ) so it doesn't touch the open sights. So far, gamo hunter pount and magnum country. Apollo 21g slugs and the usual crosman are laser accurate. I have NOT done any tunes. I need a new hammer sear part 2260 hatsan cuz 1 branch broke but it cocks smoother now lol. I had to deburr the entry port on THREE hatsan air cylinders since they've taken chunks from my O rings. However, the rifle is superb. Plenty of rats, pests and 3 coyotes taken down with Apollo 21gr slugs. I have taken the rifle apart and lubed all o rings etc and have aftermarket parts coming like moderator and depinger
Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:Buy multiple air cylinders, o rings, 100% silicone grease and oil and check the ports and smooth out as needed

The blasted accuracy! Hole E Moses this thing is a tack driver at 30 yards. And so far is not pellet picky, but I have only tried the el'cheap'o Crosman Premier 14.3 gr HP, The RWS Hobby 11.9 gr wadcutters, Gamo TS-22 21.75 gr, JTS Dead Center 18.1 gr ( best so far, 10 shots in less than 1/2" at 30 yards! ) Gamo Red Fire. ALL of these were edge to edge of a US $0.25 quarter or less, the JTS Dead Center 18.1 gr can be covered by a DIME. So, accuracy aside, I LIKE the weight as it goes a long way to helping the rifle stability, I cant see worth a flip with my aging eyes and bifocals, but that being said the open sights are REALLY good IMO. I very soon installed a CVLIFE 4-16 X 44 AO scope I had and its been bliss ever since.
Things I would have changed:Well, here is where the "cheap" or "budget" part comes in. So my 1st rifle they sent broke on its 13th shot. (10 from them on PA's "10 for 10", and on the 3rd shot from me) I was very upset to say the least. I SWEATED buying this gun. I spent like 40 hours surfing forums, reading articles, every you tube vid I could find, on specifically the AT44-10 Long. Seemed like a really great gun! Only to have my 1st one break on the first outing. I sent in for the RGA and juuuuuuust about went for a full refund. BUT, I get it, things just break. So I figured this being my 1st Hatsan I would give them another try. Almost 2 weeks later, the current one came in. As stated extremely accurate, but the rotating mag refuses to stop at the correct spot. I have to manually "bump it" to get it to line up with the camber. :-/ Im just dealing with it, but disappointed. WHYYYYYY is a Male Foster QD to 1/8" BSPP Female Threads adaptor not included!
What others should know:If you are using a pump with the quick disconnect fittings, you must have one of these. I was not told this, was not aware of this in all my research, and none of the you tube vids I watched said anything about it. Granted, this is my first PCP, maybe they just assumed everyone knew? None this less, to fill the gun using QU fitting this adaptor is a must have: https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-venturi-4500-male-quick-disconnect-to-female-threads?a=8494 Lastly, this sucker shoots hard! 1,000+ fps easily with the light end pellets. And yes, you can turn the power down. There are vids on how to do that.

I love alot about this rifle. I'm in shape and 30, so the weight isn't an issue. I 90% target, can and frozen can target shoot, and occasionally pest control, with the Olympia 25gr slugs. Very accurate after adjusting the open sights, and also it LOVES gamo hunter domed pellets. Mine was perfect out of the box. Needed little to no adjusting. I haven't done any modifications yet. Might stick a Huma, a new Baffle, Depinger and maybe a new hammer spring. But unsure yet this rifle shoots great.
Things I would have changed:Maybe a larger air cylinder but that'll probably up the price.
What others should know:Get the Air Venturi adapter quick disconnect if you're hand pumping. I use the GX pump and needed that. Takes me from 100 bar, about 5 sets of 25 pumps to full. Might need to work on my form

Things I would have changed:I could never get the fill probe to work, I changed the seals, got multiple probes, tried hand pumps and compressors and had 2 air tanks. It's been useless on my rack for years now. Don't know if it's user error or what

Quiet, powerful, accurate, nice trigger compared to my 3 springers
Things I would have changed:It is heavy
What others should know:After mounting the scope the rifle was easy to sight in. Using off the shelf Crosman premier hollow point pellets it will shoot under 1 moa at 40yds. I would bet improvement could be made using higher quality pellets. It quickly dispatched California grey squirrels with no problems.

Sound levels are exceptionally low. Accuracy is high with some pellets, seems outstanding with a few (mine prefers H&N Barracuda Hunters and Extremes). Capacity seems suitable for hunting. Really wangs pellets down range, mine is putting out 35 FPE with most pellets on a full tank. Down to about 28 FPE at the lower end of a tank. Excellent trigger. Comes with open sights!! They are plastic, but I couldn't give a squirt, I'm just happy to have them on a hunting-capable gun.
Things I would have changed:It's heavy and the weight is forward due to the tank size and shape. Better with a wooden stock, but I'd prefer the center of weight be nearer the middle. Comes with sling mounts, so it's not too much of an issue. The magazines don't rotate most of the time, but it's a simple matter to click it over to the next pellet by hand if it fails. I feel that this is where the money was saved, so I'm not complaining. Tank pressure gauge is on the business end, grab a cheap dentist mirror to avoid that issue. I personally found the synthetic stock uncomfortable, but it has an adjustable butt pad and a forward rail. Forward rail got under my hand, so I removed it. Replacing the stock took all of 5 minutes, just a few bolts and some thread locker.
What others should know:The paint or finish on the magazine alignment pin scraped off, causing it to feel rough. You can avoid this by riding it home and keeping it off the rails. I lubricated the rail, but it still scraped. It can take some practice to hold the mag and rifle with one hand while the other rides the mag trap home, but once the awkward placement is learned, it's very simple. After about 30-40 shots, the FPS drops a small amount per shot and you'll want a refill to maintain accuracy. Be sure to re-tighten the air tank after refill, the stiff hose on a hand pump can twist it out a bit. Hatsan seems like a great company to get parts from, they shipped me a wooden stock on request in no time. Very happy with the rifle, it seems to me to be a more powerful, slightly less expensive alternative to a Marauder.

I was kind of worried about this one. I had purchased a break barrel Hatsan and wound up literally throwing it away. But this PCP was a pleasant surprise. Right out of the box, it shoots 42 plus fpe with no adjustment. And very accurate. Small game beware! I'll definitely buy Hatsan PCP's again.
Things I would have changed:It really is heavy. Since I have arthritis, it wears on me if I try and shoot off hand. But with shooting sticks, no problem at all. I like it.
What others should know:you can use this one for plinking, targets or small game right out of the box. I did put a scope on it since my eyes don't like iron sights... :)

Heavy and robust. Well built.
Things I would have changed:Balance. This is a nose heavy rifle due to the reservoir. When carrying it by its sling, the muzzle tends to rotate about the shoulder. It has to be stabilized by holding onto the stock, which can be cumbersome when out in the field. However, by reversing the sling attachment points, it becomes quite stable with the muzzle down.
What others should know:After setting the sights, open or scope, the barrel needs a good cleaning. There appears to be more gunk than what 20 rounds or so should be leaving. Cleaning though requires removing the shroud to gain access to the muzzle. Doing so impacts the open sights, e.g. the front sight, alignment. Cleaning really helps to optimize the accuracy/groups. It seems to like heavy, e.g. 18 grain, rounds, too. I'll prove that out when I receive my order of JSB pellets.

As a long-time (decades) airgunner, I see the AT44 as one of the original cumulative designs of power and accuracy. Despite its "old school" rifle image, this rifle holds its own on all levels with the newer designs in the areas that count. I have never been disappointed in its accuracy and power (especially with some of the newly designed and available pellets and slugs)! Although the magazines are of lower shot-count, they are simple, metal and (from my experience) they cause far less pellet deformation while using them. I believe that's why you see some of the upper end names going back to a similar design. On a larger scale, if you want a comparison of this rifles place in the airgun world (in my eyes)= I consider it to fall into the Chevy 350, Ford 5.0, or Toyota R22 categories of the "Airgun world". Truly, a simple, (all be it old school) well designed workhorse that consistently delivers whether pimped-out or bone stock.
Things I would have changed:1)Weight.... Weight had always plagued Hatsan's original designs. This is not a Christiansen Ridgeline FFT "light hunter. You will be saddled with a 10lb+ rifle when scoped. 2)Shot count. The AT44 was designed before the common use of carbon fiber bottles and lighter more affordable polymers. However, there are tradeoffs, such as cheaper spare cylinders and mags. All and all, it has secured its own nice niche for collectors and hunters. It's all about use. This is an accurate flatland pesting, or bench resting beast- that does not travel the high back-country with ease. Keep in mind, you'll probably be receiving an older stock AT44 and you'll have to clean out the barrel of grease and light rust like the Dickens (35 patches light polish and Balistol) but it's well worth it. In fact, I gladly re-blued some of the scuffs and scratches while cleaning it (another negative Hatsan is known for).
What others should know:As an avid collector, I believe that the AT44 offers great value on its own merit as an unusually accurate and powerful Hatsan model but, will soon be considered as an integral part of the glorious "airgun revolution" we've seen in the past 20 years. Yes, it has its obvious drawback's like- "ship anchor" weight, lower shot count, smaller mags etc. however, I can outshoot my own RC factor and my friends FX DRS with these old-school broomsticks! Yes, with the newly designed pellets and slugs from AEA, JTS, Griffin, and more, these old rifles have found a new life and level of accuracy! I suppose, since that (and getting outside) is what it's always been about for me, they're worth every discounted penny. You could spend a LOT more for this type of accuracy and consistency from a regulated PCP or eventually install a Huma etc. (if you feel the need) yourself later for far less. Honestly, that should be the gateway for new airgunners anyway- start with a great base and modify to learn!
