I use this to keep critters away from my bantam chickens, and I ran out of critters lol. I recieved this, took it to my little backyard range, and hit dead on at 25 yards. The scope is good for giving to your kids to use as a telescope or something.
Things I would have changed:Garbage scope is not worthy of being on such a nice rifle.
What others should know:See above and work the cost of a GOOD scope into purchase price.

Feel and balance of the rifle was nice.
Things I would have changed:This was my second try at a Hatsan. Bought a Hatsan Edge for my lady last year. Gun arrived with a wobble barrel so I exchanged it for another brand. Tried Hatsan again thinking maybe I just needed to buy a better quality Hatsan so I tried the 95. The gas piston on the first rifle was defective out of the box. Pyramyd sent me a new one that worked well out of the box at first. After about 100 shots I noticed the barrel started to have vertical play affecting accuracy. Hatsan obviously has an issue with quality control. I sent the second 95 back to Pyramyd and am currently waiting on my refund. I'll just save my money for something of higher quality and will be avoiding Hatsan in the future.
What others should know:Quality control suffers greatly. If your Hatsan appears solid out of the box shoot the crap out of it and make sure it stays together.

I bought the 25 caliber version and shot it for the first time today. I found it fairly light, easy to cock, and quiet. As received the gun almost shot to point of aim being slightly high and right. A few quick adjustments and I was on target. The barrel was quite dirty with whatever the factory puts in there for protection from the elements but it cleaned up quickly. I couldn't resist putting some shots over the chrony and was impressed with it's consistent power plant. Numbers were very close to factory claims of 650fps. Taking 10 shots with H&N 19.9gr pellets it averaged 643fps with a low of 627 and high of 652. JSB Match Diabolo 25.3gr averaged 593fps with a low of 590 and high of 596. Predator Polymags 26gr averaged 618fps with a low of 615 and high of 621. I did not test for accuracy since it's brand new and it was windy here today but I did shoot some cans and small gong. The gong was set 35 yards away and I had no problem hitting it every time. Me likes this gun.
Things I would have changed:I found it difficult to determine when the trigger was going to let off. I adjusted it per the manual instructions but it didn't make much difference. The first stage pull seems to lead right into the second stage and it's hard to tell one from the other. The pull isn't heavy, just hard to know when it's going to trip. The trigger also has quite a bit side to side movement. This doesn't seem to affect anything though. The scope is okay for what it is but the mounts only have one screw to hold it down. I didn't bother using the supplied mounts and put better ones that I had in my parts/accessories stash.
What others should know:Overall, this is a nice shooting rifle with a few quirks but for a sub $200.00 25 caliber rifle I have no complaints. It's smooth cocking and easy to shoot. If you're looking for a user friendly, hard hitting, 25 caliber rifle without spending a bunch of money this one is hard to beat.

Stock. Nice Feel. Build quality
Things I would have changed:Horrible.. horrible cocking stroke. Rough, tough, and it needs work. Also.. Accuracy
What others should know:I have owned over 10 break barrels in the past 1.5 years and I gotta say. The Hatsan 95 is definitely one of the best, BUT I am going to be THAT GUY that gives you a realistic review on it. The accuracy isn't not as good as I expected. I am getting just as good results, with my 120 dollar gamo break barrel from walmart. The gun looks, and feels great. The quality is great. Personally the rough, hard cocking stroke is crap. Maybe it's my gun, but it's not smooth, what so ever. And the trigger.. everyone says it's so great and I just don't see it.. My Gamo Whisper Fusion has a trigger that is just as nice, if not, nicer because of how smooth it is. Then again... It's only a 189 dollar gun. All in all, it's a nice gun, just needs work. I am hoping mine changes after a few hundred more shots. So far.. It has about 400 through it, and the cocking stroke has gotten worse, not better. Trigger has gotten worse, not better. Maybe I got a lemon?

THIS IS A REVIEW ON THE QE VERSION .25 cal: it is great in all respects same as a standard mod 95 but ...... they made the barrel shorter by about 8 inches to make space for the silencer, now i for one am not a fan of short barrels because it gives much less velocity in any air rifle and there does not seem to be a massive difference in noise reduction i personally would go for the standard version especially in .25 cal.
Things I would have changed:get rid of the QE its not helpful with velocity or noise reduction
What others should know:in my opinion the .22 caliber standard version is still top on the list when it comes to best bang for buck!!
Also .25 does not seem as accurate as the .177 or .22

Nice heavy serious feeling gun.
Things I would have changed:As noted by others- scope is a waste, open sights could use a cover.
What others should know:After about 100 shots Vortex failed completely.
Paid $50 to ship it back.
I think they sent me another gun rather than repair, but in any case that one failed after 2 shots.
Will look nice all the way to the dump I guess.

First impressions of the rifle upon opening, wow. This rifle is really well built. Many reviews mentioned this, and now I know why. The stock is of excellent quality, the fit and finish are great - really solid rifle on first inspection. Trigger, very good and it is tunable, this one I adjusted a little but only because I like to mess with things. Iron sites - not bad at all. Not as nice as my old RWS 34, but very functional and you could do a lot worse. I bought mine in .22 caliber and love the way it hits the target - hard... Not the zippy way a good .177 does, but a solid thunk. Love the vortex gas pistons ability to remain cocked for an extended period of time, my main reason for the purchase.
Things I would have changed:Add a rear sling stud mount. This rifle will benefit from adding a sling if you are going to be walking in the woods for an extended period of time. Just like a deer rifle - same weight.
What others should know:People complain that this is a heavy rifle. It is heavy, but not too heavy - plus the weight holds it steady while shooting. No real recoil and the sound dampening system works well. If you are looking at adding an air rifle to your collection or just getting the first one, this is one you will be proud of. Save your money and get this rifle, don't waste your time with the cheaper Gamo or Crossman's.

This is my first breakbarrel as I typically shoot PCP rifles from a rest, but I wanted something I could handhold for plinking and target practice. I settled on the 95 vortex in .22 because I have lots of .22 ammo and the vortex system is highly regarded. Many people's primary complaint about this gun is the stock, but I guess it's just luck of the draw because my stock has some beautiful grain patterns on the butt and the finish is consistent and even. I would have preferred a bit lighter finish, but it is a beautiful gun and it works as well as it looks! Within 30 shots or so the gun settled down and started shooting consistently, yielding impressive results for day 1 shooting. The gun is not hard to cock, and the weight although heavy is manageable and makes holding the gun steady much easier. Very happy with my purchase, and look forward to trying out other Hatsan offerings including the 135 vortex!
Things I would have changed:The included scope is absolute trash. Ditch the scope and lower the price of the gun to make up for it.
What others should know:Beautiful stock, great accuracy, heavy but manageable for offhand shooting. Read elsewhere that the action screws are known to come loose, so don't be afraid to lock things down with Loctite.

Everything. This is a real gun. Quality, Beauty, Power, accuracy, PRECISION, adjustable trigger. As quiet as I have ever heard a break barrel.
Things I would have changed:I'm no expert, but I could not get the scope even CLOSE to zero
What others should know:The iron sights are crazy good. They are so accurate. The gun is a tack driver. Resting on a pillow, it just goes through the same target hole every single time. Every time. I use .22 16 and 22 grain dome pellets and could not tell a difference in accuracy. The 22 grain pellets definitely pack more of a punch in my metal plate testing. The adjustable trigger is awesome, I set it for basically a hair trigger because that's my preference. You can adjust it to however you like. The barrel is a heavy cock, but that's good to keep the kids from messing with it. I don't have a bad thing to say about it besides the scope sucks...
If you're looking for QUIET power, a .22 hatsan qe is the gun for you. It's phenomenal.

- I really like the new shrouded barrel. Very easy & smooth to cock; no gritty feel. - The walnut stock on my QE.22 was better-looking than the one on my previous Hatsan .22...it no longer has the model designation stamped on the stock, which I thought detracted from the look of that rifle, anyhow. - Even with just the fixed sights the QE.22 is very accurate! It loves heavier pellets. - I LOVE that trigger! One of the best of all the pellet rifles I own.
Things I would have changed:- I preferred the larger fiber optic sights in my previous Vortex95.22. - I would prefer a thicker recoil pad; less walnut stock might reduce the overall weight. I wish it would ship with an optics rail (like the Ruger Yukon) not those high rings. I'd just as soon the Vortex didn't ship with a cheapo scope at all. My bundled Optima scope was DOA out of the box. Unadjustable. Unusable. Pyramyd could (or rather would) not replace JUST the scope, and insisted I had to exchange the rifle also, to replace the scope. I felt lucky to have gotten a "good" rifle the first time around, and had no desire to roll those dice again, so I'll pitch the scope in the trash, and maybe get a working scope later...maybe from another online vendor? (I also would change/improve PA's customer service, as I had trouble getting timely replies to my emailed inquiries, and more trouble getting staff to actually READ my attempts to replace the wonky scope.) - Sling provision? - Shoulder stock a bit long?
What others should know:This QE.22 is one sweet rifle. The very first Vortex95 I bought from PA was defective (pins fell out!) and had to be exchanged. My second Vortex95 was very enjoyable, but its screws would loosen and FALL OUT if I didn't retighten them after just a few rounds! I lost one screw all together but the nice folks at Hatsan replaced it for free. I was worried that retightening so many screws, so often, might eventually strip some out. Evenso, it was such a good rifle a friend bought it off me anyhow. He loves it too...despite the loosening screws.
But I missed my Vortex, and replaced it with the Vortex QE.22. MUCH IMPROVED. Screws stay tighter longer. Is it THAT MUCH quieter? Maybe a bit.

First let me say Thank you to the sales guys at pyramid ... You nailed just what i was looking for in an air rifle .... The Hatsan is quality thru and thru... The look feel and finish are top notch and the rifle was and is exactley as described by the salesman at PA....
Things I would have changed:Nothing ..... Well worth the money spent .... The 20 for 20 service sent me a rifle that outta the box is a chipmunk destroyer !!!! I have no issues with the optics supplied with this rifle... Its not meant to replace my deer rifle its meant to shoot critters in the yard and tin cans and this set up will do that all day long...
What others should know:If your looking for a well made accurate air rifle that wont break the bank Buy this rifle... My first but definatley not my last as i plan to purchase the .22 cal very soon ...

This review is for the second Hatsan 95 Vortex 22 Cal, The first one looked like they used bubble rap to rap the rifle before the finished was dried. This second one has the same look except not as bad! I did pay for the 10 for 10 and PA did inspect the shooting but obviously, they didn't inspect the finish on the gun. I would be sending this one back also but I did put a small scratch on it and I don't think PA would accept it back?
Things I would have changed:QC at Hatsan, better inspection overall for the 10 for 10 by PA, Option to buy a better scope.
What others should know:Sloppy finish, Spotty and thin in spots. If I had to do it over again I would buy synthetic stocks. The cocking pressure is a good workout but not too excessive.

Things I would have changed:Nothing
