    Things I liked:

Bought this in the .22 variant; It is definitely sturdy and well made. It doesn't have a huge kick like some other guns. Seems to be pretty consistent for an air rifle. Plenty of power to exterminate vermin. Easy to sight in and stays sighted in well. I have shot two kinds of pellets through it so far the: RWS Superdome .22 Cal, 14.5 Grains, Domed pellets and they of the two were the most accurate over long yards, and the Crosman Premier .22 Cal, 14.3 Grains, Hollowpoint which are still pretty accurate but required a slight scope adjustment as they drop a bit sooner. I set up a target similar to the Do-All Outdoors .22 Spinner Target, and at roughly 87' I filled the white center of the center target with pellet after pellet and yet could still hit a target at less than 25ft without adjusting the sight. Granted the shot was a bit off, but It didn't affect hitting a bird or squirrel. The scope I got had a scope stop built in to the setup. The trigger adjustment screw works pretty well for me. Easy to cock and reload. Fairly light for a gun of its size.

    Things I would have changed:

The placement of the trigger adjustment screw forces you to angle a flathead screwdriver in and can cause you to strip the screw if not careful...better access would be nice. The pictures show a one piece scope mount but I received a two piece mount...not a deal breaker, the one I got is nice and works great. Mine came with a gamo scope that didn't have mil-dots....mil-dots would be nice but not a deal breaker either.

    What others should know:

Although its easy for me to break the barrel over, I let my 11yr old son do it one day and he held it up close to his body to use it as leverage while breaking the barrel, he had trouble on one breakover and decided to start over, when he did it came back and pinched his bicep leaving a good bruise. Just saying be careful how you hold it if you are young and keep clear of the pinch points. I found that shooting with both eyes open netted the best results, due to the movement of the crosshairs if you close one eye. Adjust the scope and get used to how it shoots before you go trying to eliminate vermin, and try different pellets to see which ones net best results. Wind will play a factor in your shots so try to replicate conditions that you used to adjust your sights before you take an important shot. I have seen my shot drop 3" and go left about 8" on an 87' target due to windy conditions. Look at each pellet before you put it in the barrel, note the look of the cup and the force with which you may need to place it in the hole as these can affect the shot but will usually do so the same way every time. Helps you to adjust on the fly. If the pellet takes a lot more pressure to enter the chamber, it may drop early, if its dented on the cup it may go left or right. Hope this review was helpful. I love my Big Cat and there is NO buyers remorse here!

    Things I liked:

Shoot extremely fast and accurate! The scope seems to be very good and clear also. The rifle is a very high quality gun and seems to be basically indestructible. It's also very well balanced.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger pull is pretty tough, about 10-11 pounds on mine. It may even be adjustable, but I haven' t yet checked to see. Other than that, I can find no faults.

    What others should know:

I was never really interested in airguns after I grew up and started shooting guns that went bang. However, these high-speed air rifles are awesome and much cheaper to shoot than the "go bang" guns. Gamo did an awesome job in developing the Big Cat 1200 and I'm sure it will last a long time. One thing I will offer as a word of caution though: Whatever pellets you use to sight the scope in, stick with those pellets because different pellets seem to shoot dramatically different changing the point of impact.

    Things I liked:

Gun is weather resistant and light weight, has a fairly smooth firing cycle. Definetely a good buy for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

I would have the gun offered with a higher quality scope. At the very least a 4X with AO, or the Gamo 3-9X. If this isn't a possible option, it would be nice to have a good set of open sighta.

    What others should know:

Only the novice airgunner is going to be satisfied with the standard Gamo 4X scope. The expense of upgrading to a better scope is something potential buyers should consider before they opt for the combo as offered.

    Things I liked:

Well, this is my third review. I call my Big Cat my closet gun. It is the one I grab first for the ground squirrels destroying the lady's garden. It has a CharlieDaTuna GRT-III Gold trigger. But, that is why I am back. CharlieDaTuna now has a trigger to replace all GAMO Plastic triggers. And, oh my, do GAMO plastic triggers need to be replaced. Gamo triggers are about the only negative on this excellent line of air guns.

    Things I would have changed:

That Plastic trigger. For $34.50, including shipping, CharlieDeTuna has a great trigger. CNC Machined gold anodised aluminum.

    What others should know:

Pyramyd Air has the best service, the best prices, and free shipping for orders above $100. Not only that, but excellent product information other's can not match. Listen to your old people, like me.

    Things I liked:

smooth cocking, the synthetic stock, the barrel shroud, the price! (oh yeah, and awesome shipping! thanks pyramidair!)

    Things I would have changed:

THE TRIGGER! the pull is very long and heavy and not much a two-stage, but thats what the GRT-III trigger replacement is for.

    What others should know:

First of all, this is my first air gun. First time i fired my Big Cat .22 my reaction was DANG THATS LOUD! I live in a residential neighborhood and I bought the Big Cat in .22 because i heard it was quieter. This might have been from the oils that were dieseling pretty bad for the first dozen shots or so. It's quieted down some. Now, when I bought this springer I knew I was going to have to learn hold sensitivity. I underestimated just how hold sensitive this air gun is! You really have to be VERY gentle and extremely consistent with your hold if you want to get ANY accuracy out of this air gun. I am still learning myself and even after 200 shots thru my Big Cat the best groups I can consistently hold are nickel sized at 10 yards with Crosman Hollowpoint Premiers. Now, I attest this accuracy half to my poor marskmanship and half to the poor stock trigger, my GRT-III trigger replacement is on the way thank God! I'd recommend this air gun to anybody who is willing to put alot of scope time in it, the price is insane!

    Things I liked:

After 2 weeks with my Big Cat 1200, I must say it didn't take long to find enjoyment with it. I have a good friend who is an expert hunter who helped me do the initial zeroing in on the scope. We found that there is a very fine tuning capability in that 1 click moves the sight 1/4" at 100 yd. At 30 ft. it takes a lot of clicks to move an inch! Other than that, it's a very solid air rifle and the very first gun I have owned.

    Things I would have changed:

My arm gets tired after less than an hour of shooting. I suspect that: A) My stamina is below average for this acitivity; and B) I maybe should be using a lighter gun. Neither of these comments is a negative for the BC 1200.

    What others should know:

Be sure to check local and regional regulations. I found that it's not regulated here in Florida when restricted to private property.

    Things I liked:

Great finish, smooth cocking effort, very accurate and consistent shots. This is real value for money air rifle, comes bundled with a scope. Scope is not too great but does the job. It has a stop pin slot which is good on springers. Very light weight and come to the shoulder easily.Shrouded barrell gives a good feel. All weather stock is also a good feature.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, except maybe the safety could be automatic engage on cocking.

    What others should know:

Allow the gun to settle in with approx 50 shots, tighten the bolts on the scope once u get the gun, do a fresh sighting in and enjoy. Great job being done by folks at Pyramyd air for getting us such lovely air guns.

    Things I liked:

I bought my gun about three years ago. I could not get this gun to come close to any kind of a pattern. I felt I made a mistake and definately did not like this gun. I've read the reviews and thought how do they get the shots they claim they get. About a year ago I had the nitro piston installed but still did not have good results so I replaced the trigger with a charliedatuna. Still the gun was eratic. At this point I was frustated and believed I wasn't ment to shot a break barrel gun. Months later I read the reviews searching for the right pellet. Eventually I tried the Crosman Hollow Point hunting pellet and the result were more than I expected. After a few shot and adjustments, I was hitting where I was shooting for the first time since I owned this gun. At 20 yard, I could cover ten holes with a dime. The gun is a good by for the money. Like others have said, you have to find the pellet that works for you. I can not give this product a good rating.

    Things I would have changed:

I change to the nitro-piston and replaced the trigger. I see a replacement is now made for the plastic trigger.

    What others should know:

Find the right scope and the right pellet for your gun. It's a matter of preferance but if were to buy again, I would get the 22 cal.

    Things I liked:

This is your basic "budget springer," so don't expect match grade accuarcy. I have the .177 caliber. I could get 1 inch groups at yards with my rifle's favortie pellet, the Beeman Kodiak. this rifle is capable of 14ft-lbs, not bad for a budget springer. I expect it to rise to 15ft-lbs or so with lighter pellets. Light cocking effort and light weight makes it good for youth and smaller adults.

    Things I would have changed:

Better trigger, but what can you expect from a $140 gun? You can just drop in a GRT-3 for $35 or so. Scope is not practical, but again, it is $140.

    What others should know:

This rifle is now being produced with a plastic trigger that CAN NOT be replaced with a GRT-3, so dont buy the trigger if your Gamo comes with a plastic.

VERY STRONG RIFLE FOR THE LOW PRICE. FEEL NICE WHEN SHOT OVER 30 YDS. REAL NICE RIFLE BETTER WHEN USE GAMO RAPTOR PELLETS

    Things I would have changed:

    What others should know:

THE SCOPE CAME WITH IS NOT A NICE ONE BUT WITH THE LEAPERS 5 GEN. 6 24 X 50 SCOPE IS AN AWESOME RIFLE FOR LONG DISTANCE SHOOT

    Things I liked:

Great power and accuracy for the price. It would be hard to beat the build quality and engineering for this price.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing really. Maybe have an option without the scope at a reduced price. I seem to have a few to many 4x scopes sitting around from bundled rifle purchases.

    What others should know:

I never mounted the included scope. I mounted a CenterPoint 3-9x40AO with BKL mounts instead. With this gun's power I had better luck with a heaver pellet. The JSB Diabolo Exact Heavy came in first with the Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum a close second.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Very light and easy to shoot. Also easy to cock, but with enough power to kill squirrels with one well-placed shot, especially when using the Gamo .177 rockets. Very accurate, I get very tight groups even when shooting freehand, which is amazing for the low price of this rifle. I bought it secondhand at a pawn shop, and eventually sent it to Gamo for a new spring and service. Then I upgraded the cheap original scope to a Leapers 3-9X50. Now it shoots like a charm!

    Things I would have changed:

The scope is worthless, so offer the rifle by itself at a lower price to let the buyer get a quality scope and mount for a great combo.

    What others should know:

Great rifle for the price, you can't go wrong with the Big Cat. One minor complaint is the trigger is a bit stiff, but you just can't beat the price.

Dead-on accuracy at 40 yards after a manual scope adjustement. Pellets shoot clean through small pests (squirrels) for quick kill.

This has to be the most accurate powerful and easy to shoot rifle on the market with a metal spring. The new plastic trigger is toughly made and requires no breakin I have both. versions It will chrony at the mid 900s after a breakin and shoots ragged holes for groups.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

This rifle is amazing considering the tiny spring which has little to no preload. It the spring that is can be removed without special tools as the spring is little to no danger to remome unless you got it pointed at your eye or some dumb crap like that.problem is you cant find a new one anywhere uless you send the gun to gamo I had one cat that i shot every day for forever about 15000 pellets yes 30 tins of 500 and heard a crunch when cocking so i took a look and sure enough 1 inch of the spring was broken off so I put the longer piece of spring back in and even though it dropped to 725 fps on the chrony it plinked like a champ for another 5 or 600 shots then broke again. Wish I could find a new spring for it being it was an 08 and had the metal trigger which was broke in well. very addictive rifle and has a good report louder than my falcon hunter in .25 but a lot easier to shoot

First shot... RWS hobby 7.0 gr 1025 fps per chrony, Raptor 1180 FPS ,Crosman ultra magnun 10.5 gr 780 FPS. I like the new trigger its plastic but crisp without the breakin. I have a 2008 with the metal trigger it took a long time I mean 2000 plus pellets to get it predictable but still shoots great after well over 30 tins of 500 thats over 15000 shots fired and still chronys at 880 fps consistantly. This is quite a rifle especially to be so light weight

    Things I would have changed:

Scope is cheap I put a centerpoint 3x9 on one and a Barska plinkster rifle scope on the other both hold zero with 3/4 inch groups this gun doesnt have enough recoil to bother the rimfire scope

    What others should know:

This is beyond the shadow of a doubt the best rifle for the money. Easy to cock shoots fast and true its a nice rifle, thats why I got another one in case gamo quits makin em. Even though its true the plastic trigger won't take the GRT upgrade it really doesnt need it cause it does not have the problems the other trigger had

Accuracy...accuracy.....did I say accurate? Thing can knock out tweetie from 40-50 yards. I've gotten a pesky squirrel that would not stay off the roof . I have a whole yard full of them , only one , had the audacity. He took off everytime I got out there with my old gun. I got him at about 35 yards I didn't think I'd even get him he dropped like a rock. I used the polymag. I now see why it gets 5 stars. I hit plastic bottles from 50 yards EVERY single time. I was good with a bad gun this gun I'm deadly. Also a solid target gun. Gun is light easy to cock and very well made for the coin.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger guard is kinda sharp. I smoothed it out ...now my trail finger doesn't chafe. But , I have FAT fingers. This is being seriously picky too. I love this gun.

    What others should know:

Yeah, got critters , like accurate .. light guns, well made, then BUY ONE.
