Dynamic Air Rifles DAR Gen3 Reviews

Styling, many features above it's price point. All of the information I could find on this rifle showed it to super accurate, which is what I'm always after, with only a few incidents of air leaking.

While the reviews on these guns is outstanding, it seems they have quality control issues. When I purchase from Pyramid, I always get the 10 for 10, AND the "24 hour leak test" when it applies. I don't believe Pyramind did their job on my order! When the gun arrived, the tank was completely empty.... which I've never seen on any gun that's had the leak test. So I did my own. Filled to 3000psi and 3 hours later it was at 1500, 4 hours after that, the tank was completely empty. If my math is correct, that was 7 hours... had Pryamid properly conducted the "24 HOUR" test that I paid for, they would have either repaired the gun, or sent a gun that passed the test.... they just didn't do the job they were paid for.

After shopping around, it was clear that EVERYWHERE the DAR was....it was "On Sale" at a significant price drop, that is everywhere except the DAR site, which was at full price. That scenario tells me that there must be a reason why all the retailers were trying to get rid of this gun..... but Why? Its only an educated guess on my part, but the air leaking on these guns must a widespread issue, versus just me......

Build quality!!

The bolt fits very sloppy and sticks sometimes on closing. Now for the real problem! After about 6 months and about 1000 rounds it developed an air leak at the back of the gauge adapter!! They send a seal kit with them new so I attempted to reseal it to no avail. I decided to send it to DAR's official service center. According to them it had been modified and refused to repair the air leak!! (Hasn't been touched since purchased from Pyramydair, and I know they didn't modify it, as the box still had seal tape on it!) I got it back with most of the screws loose and a cut hammer spring in a bag! I realize at this pricepoint it won't be perfect, but... Having built numerous Benjamin, Crosman and Umarex Gauntlets, I do know a little about airguns and this is not acceptable! I and am sad to say I will not purchase another!!

The right outperforms the listed specs. I bought one in .22 and it's shooting 14.3 grain CPHS pellets in the 985 fps range, 15.89 pellets up to 962 fps, and 18.13 pellets topped out at 915 fps. Accuracy is very good. Not amazing, but very good. Maybe I just haven't found the perfect pellet for it yet. IDK.

I wish it had a visible gauge for the regulator and I also wish the regulator was externally adjustable.

Pair this rifle up with a $35-$40 buck rail moderator and you've got a winning combo that won't break the bank

After I received this DAR in .25 caliber. I have a small leak? I tightened the Foster and got about 3/4 of a turn on it. I thought that would do it but it didn't ,so I took the stock off (1 bolt) to check the pressure gauge it was tight. Then I noticed a snapped off 6mm bolt. There are going into the block on either side of the trigger. Reached out to Pyramyd? No help ALL these suppliers customer service is very poor! They'll sell you an item but it seems to be a mantallity of ALL SALES FINANCIAL? These are NEW products! I was told to deal with the Manufacturer.. I took a picture of the snapped off bolt and not holding air? My Email to DAR late November early December. DAR return my request for my concerns 6/7 Weeks later. They replied what is the problems? Return a Email with leaking issues and the photo of the screw? It is now 02/09/2024 and not a word nor response!!! This is Brand new regardless of the Price it should be replaced. Very Disappointed with the Shop and DAR'manufacture.

Made well , easily tunable including the trigger.Great shot count.

QC, mine shaves lead and loads hard using the magazine. I already had a SST for my Gen 2 DAR , tried it and the rifle is now my most consistent and accurate air rifle, albeit a single shot. I can use the mags in my Gen 2 so all is well. My Gen 3 just will not work properly with included mags or my Gen 2’s mags .

Red corn single shot tray will work in Gen 2 and 3 rifles.

The rifle was very accurate with multiple weights and style pellets.

Need a better way to contact customer support. My rifle developed a leak at the fill port and I can not get in contact with customer support to get the rifle repaired.

Terrible customer support. Would not buy unless you can work on your own gun and find parts.

First impressions

Pyramid should drop this line of airguns until the manufacturer figures out the issues

The importer; Aim Sports, Inc.), offers excellent customer service but they seem unable to correct the issues with these guns. Over the past three months both my .22 and my .25 have had to ship back to California at least once for repair. Both airguns developed leaks and performed erratically when chronographed. Aim Sports has sent me new replacements and they also proved to be defective. Aim Sports, Inc is doing all they can to provide good service but the reality is they cant compensate for an inherently inferior product.

THESE GUNS HAVE SIGNIFICANT ISSUES. If you have one you think is terrific, as I did when I first received mine, I suspect you shoot at close range such that you have yet to realize what JUNK their regulators are.

PYRAMID .. YOU STOP SELLING THESE AIRGUNS. They are not up to your normal standards.

Shoot good and quiet can get multiple shots as does not scare away. Light weight and looks nice.

Doesnt hold air more than day. Changed o rings and still same.

Scratchs were o ring seats and in air regulator. They could take more care to ensure good seating area for o rings.

Shoots well . I already have a gen 2 in .22 ca, so just makes sense to go gen in .25 cal..

It is a good value for the money.

great gun easy loading mags great trigger ' good looking stock (wood) not plastic ' very accuartin 22 cal. bought a scope for it and it really helped

The balance of DAR is fantastic. The side lever cocking nice. The magazine has worked flawlessly. The accuracy is stellar.

A little bit better quality control .

The DAR gen3. Has the potential to be a good air rifle but it does have flaws. The flaws ( leaking and reg ) will cause frustration and confusion until you figure it out but the rewards will pay off.
Do Not buy this Airgun from anywhere that does not accept returns or exchanges. I had to exchange two Airgun before I received a better one and even the better one required some tinkering. If you get a good one the first time up then hand pumping will work but if you don’t then you will need a tank or compressor to help you., there will be a lot of degassing and refilling.

This is an outstanding, accurate lever action air rifle and ranks at the top of the list along with the JTS, Avenger series and Walther .25 Reign. The lever action DAR, with its quick connect Foster fitting and its all metal magazine, along with the above mentioned rifles, have made the bulky bolt action rifles with jammable cartridges obsolete!

Very little needs to be added. A light weight model with synthetic stock would be desirable . Also desirable would be a longer railing to add both scope and a laser.

Avoid bolt action rifles with external fill probes and magazines with plastic covers that are easy to jam.
There is now a number of excellent lever action , fully regulated rifles with quick connect Foster fitting on the market at reasonable prices.

Not pellet finicky. Very accurate out of the box. Trigger is easily adjustable.

Mine arrived with minor marring on the gas tube. It also shoots so far right that it took a shim on the rail to realign my scope. I removed the barrel and checked it for a bend and it was straight. The receiver is bored at an angle and it can't be fixed. I chose not to send it back because I played that game with Pyramyd several years ago and they kept sending me garbage. A .016" shim on the left side brought my rifle back with a bit of moa windage to spare. Great rifle, otherwise.
