Very accurate at the 30ft range that I shoot mostly. Trigger is excellent and breaks cleanly @ under 3lb. Mine likes many different pellets in the 11.9 gr range right up to the 18.1 JSBs. It chambers some a bit tight but the accuracy is worth it. I wouldn't try to kill anything but paper or perhaps a mouse or rat or squirrel at close range. I love the flexibility of mounting sights on the barrel band. I have even mounted a 2X pistol scope there using a single wide ring or Williams target sights...either Peep or Patridge style. Installing a second barrel band does not look difficult, and would add even more flexibility 4 scout scopes etc. Many of the parts are inter-changeable with my other Dianas.. Very quiet for urban use.

As others have said...the CO2 system seems to be an afterthought, and takes some time to get used to. (The theme to the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song came to mind. LOL) A bit of wasted CO2 and some destroyed o-rings, and I can now make it work most of the time...without too many destroyed o-rings or wasted gas. I need to be very careful to get the cap tight without buggering up the o-ring. (there are probably better quality and more durable o-rings out there somewhere...like maybe @ Captain O-ring, which could last longer than the one that came with the gun ripped,or free spares Pyramyd air sent when I complained. Since the connection between the CO2 cap and chamber does not seem to be beveled, a brass or similar soft washer might make a better seal. I need to spend some time digging in hardware stores. A machinist could likely make a better CO2 chamber cap with a foster fitting 4 those of us equipped for bulk CO2 fill. No more wasted o-rings. Must "dry fire" lots to de-gas b4 re-fill.

For $100, it is hard to loose...especially with Pyramyd's excellent customer service and a great warrantee.
I like the plastic stock. It is small and light but still similar to a "sporter" stock.
More tinkering with o-rings etc.,than some would like but again...$100. Potentially lots of shots per fill and flexibility to use 1, 2 or 3 full CO2 cartridges is good...once u figure it out.
Better instructions might help some of us avoid early problems.
Mine came with the CO2 cap disassembled and parts scattered in the box. It almost looked like it had been sold b4 and returned, or not very carefully packed or assembled in China.

I will say I was a bit skeptical of diana new value line but after owning the chaser and now the trailscout I am a believer in the direction. I own a variety of guns and pellet guns both high power and non pal which to the rest of the world means under 500fps.I didn't really see the point in them until the pandemic started and I was stuck at home or in my backyard. In Canada we are not allowed moderators and so with these lighter power guns Iam able to get some safe accurate trigger time and do I mean accurate. Iam getting a one hole groups around 1/4 inch at 26 yards and around 1/2 inch at 40 with jsb 18gr.

To date the only complaint I have is the oring on the co2 cap when you are through your co2 and unscrewing it blows up to twice three times it's original size. Oh yeah and the fact you have to shoot out what ever co2 that's left to depressurize the gun there's no bleeder so I guess it is like qb78.

The shot count is amazing I get 120 shots with a extreme spread of 56 fps and 150 ,170 plinking shots so the valve in mine is excellent. I will definitely be getting more of diana and snow peak airguns in the future.

The Co2 end cap is junk. This system was flawed from the start. No de-gasser so you stuck unscrewing the cap and the sealing o-ring blows out. Same if you are not holding your mouth right when putting fresh Co2

Pyramydar is graet they took it back no issues. Stay a way from this gun. If you do not you will regret it.

Really like the way the rifle felt and handled when I removed it from the box. It's comfortable to shoot and the magazine is easy to load and insert.

The cap on the co2 cylinder needs to be better engineered. Mine was difficult to tighten and fell apart after 2 co2 changes. My main complain was accuracy however.

I really wanted to like the rifle but it's accuracy was sub par compared to my Beeman QB78 (tack Driver) and now 1085.
My shooting is usually under 50 feet and I use the weapon for eliminating chipmunks at those distances. I could never get a decent group no matter how well I cleaned the barrel or type/weight of pellets I used. Even the H&N Terminators that a group well under an inch from my QB were well over double that with the Diana. I just couldn't depend on it's accuracy in the field. Hopefully it was only mine that fell short as it is a nice handling weapon.

Pyramyd accepted the rifle back and I purchased a Beeman 1085 from them which shoots much better and close to the QB single shot I have. Excellent supplier to deal with.

Great lil CO2 plinker for an all day play, three CO2 cartridges and ya shoot for hours load three more and your off to the races again.

My o-ring completely blew up as in expanded to like three times it's size I don't know why . They give ya replacement o-ring so kinda think they know it's gonna fail?? Yet keep it on the gun.. anyway is jus my opinion.. but the o-ring did expand and I thought someone had left an o-ring in the tube

Well, dealing with Pyramid Air is always a positive. Light weight, accurate with polymags (short and reg), Magazine depth, good stock design. Shot potential???????

Co2 containment system. The cap is a serious design flaw....Todays engineers believe that if you can load the dimensions into a CAD program that it is going to be a sound design. Who at Diana thought that an interior thread system with an exterior seal would be a sufficiently redundant design for that kind of pressure? There is not enough expansion space around the cap edges for the o-ring to seat. Additionally there are no overlapping containment edges to keep the seal in place. Sleek and new is useless if it fails to even seal like a decades old and reliable Chinese QB78. I have several Beemans that are 10+ years old and have not needed any kind of seal replacement yet. I also have both cheap and expensive PCPs (no Dianas) that have simply worked for years with a few seals now and then but, never in the charged tank compartments. Go back to the drawing board Diana! Also, revisit the loud hammer ping on such a small rifle and its so-called moderator- It is as loud as my 25 cal PCPs

If you want to be woken up at 2 in the morning with a loud pop and subsequent hissing for 30 seconds the day after you received it, this maybe for you.. If you like your wife being angry with you and sleeping on the couch this maybe for you.. If you like wasting pelligun oil, Co2 cartridges, extra magazines, and time waiting for the order just to be disappointed with inexplicably flawed cap designs, this may be for you.. Otherwise, pass on it until they redesign it. Until then, I will be sticking with Hatsan, Benjamin, Walther, and yes even cheap Beeman pesters. Returning less than 12hrs. after receiving.

I have the polymer stock model in .22, on a great refurbished deal from Pyramyd. Accuracy: a magazine of .22 unleaded pellets makes one ragged hole at 10m, under an inch group at 20m, and fly open from there on out as unleaded pellets will do. That is very good for me, and your lead pellets will do better. Quiet: the hammer is louder than the shot. Compact: the gun feels small, but dense for its size. I have the Dragonfly and Chaser and this fits in between those two, at Mama bear size in grip and pull length. I'm really liking these Snowpeak air guns by Diana, Seneca and Air Venturi.

It could use a de-gas mechanism so I don't have to shoot it dry a dozen times at the end of a gas load to depressurize and unscrew the gas cylinder port. DON'T locktite the barrel grub screws as they are tiny and easy to strip out the Allen head. I had the same problem on the Dragonfly and Chaser.

Expect to give the gun a once-over when you get it: clean the barrel well and check the barrel ends for burrs and other nicks; mine needed a little smoothing for accuracy and to keep pellets from hanging up when loading. Check around the barrel gas ports and the CO2 cylinder screw port for burrs that could cut O-rings. The moderator will unscrew after a dip in boiling water and some effort. Then it will be easier to clean the barrel. Tweak the front sight to point up vertical while you're at it.
One can load one or two CO2 cylinders and the rest empties to get 30 or 60 shots. That can be a good thing as the gun is a PITA to degas.
A lot of the parts on the Trailscout, Dragonfly and Chaser can interchange (maybe the Stormrider too), but note the shorter barrels won't fit over the longer gas tubes.

The quality is incredible, well made and accurate. Few issues I had with mine though, the barrel is not lined up with the gas tube maybe it was bent in transport, none the less I still was able to sight in the scope. A normal circumstances I would have returned this but I waited a very long time for it to ship. Another issue is when the gas starts running low it is no longer accurate at all, expected. However I'm finding it nearly impossible to open the gas tube, and then when I do get it open seal swells up and explode out and tear themselves to bits.

A great co2 rifle, maybe one of the best. Feels great in the hands, sleek and lightweight. Great for neighborhood use, extremely quiet with a screw on suppressor. Great fun and easy for anyone to pick up and shoot. I wanted a great plinking and pesting rifle that can be shot all day, and this certainly delivered.

Came with a defective O-ring, RIP my co2 cartridges. Also no ambi bolt option like on the Stormrider? It can be worked around but still an annoyance.

Fyi you need to load all 3 co2 cartridges.

Beautiful looking rifle. Diana's claim that you can get 90+ shots out of one CO2 load is not an exaggeration! I have also found that the Daisey rear peep sight works really well, even with the front sight unchanged. I plan on adding the front globe sight with a little work in my shop. I want to get another one with the wood stock, but the synthetic is very nice! (I had to crank the rear sight down a lot to use the existing front sight, but there is plenty of adjustment with the Daisey rear.) Works well as a single shot and repeater, depending upon use. I plan on using it to train for biathlon year 'round, so like the magazine as well.

Very accurate plinker. Moderate on gas usage, fairly quiet too. Fun to shoot! Load up two ammo clips, and you have 20 shots (.177) as fast as you can cycle the bolt. Put a fairly inexpensive scope on it, impressed with the 50 feet accuracy. Trigger was very easy to adjust also.

Not a change, but make sure you screw the plug in all the way before using the puncture lever, or three cartridges are wasted.

Design a sealing cap that completely covers the end of the CO2 chamber preventing the O ring from rupturing and releasing all of the gas.

The chamber for the co2 does not seal. They need to come up with a cap that covers the end to prevents the O ring from leaking all of the compressed co2 out.

Gun is light weight and slender making it easy to tote around. The mag loads easy and work well. The moderator does a pretty good job of keeping the noise down. The sights are nothing fancy and work okay even with someone like me who has less than perfect eyes. I loaded 1 CO2 bulb for starters and got about 50 shots before the power dropped off.

I would add stippling or other rough surface to the magazine so it's not so slippery. I would also like to see another barrel support near the front end of the stock so not so much barrel is hanging out there unsupported.

I bought the 22 caliber and put some shots over the chrony. Temperature was about 35F. Here's the chrony results. RWS Hobby 11.9 averaged 505fps, H&N Sport 13.7gr 490fps, H&N Field T-T 14.6gr 485fps, and Crosman Premier HP 440fps.
