First, I have to thank PyramydAIR for the warranty service. My first 240XL leaked air so fast it was unusable and Pyramyd made it right. The New Pistol shipped fast and is great and with so many upgrades, the 240XL is a phenomenal buy.

The only upgrade I would suggest is the thread protector is plastic, I would have made it out of metal.

With a red dot sight, it will stack pellets in a ragged hole at 10 yards from a rest. Very accurate!

Overal nice pistol. Accurate, appears well made, fun to shoot and the price is right.

Rail on top of pistol is supposed to be 11mm. It is not, caliper mesurers it at less than 11mm, about 10.6, 10.5 mm, (measured on two different calipers). Consequently trying to mount an 11mm scope will not fit. Also cocking takes some pull. Perfer Diana Chaser.

Suggest you consider Crosman 2240 instead of 2240XL. 2240 comes with iron sites and is less expensive.

A solid well built pistol especially at this price point. Accurate enough out of the box to make one ragged hole at 10 meters about 1.5 inches across. Very good platform for modifications.

I changed out the sear spring and polished trigger components even before I shot the air pistol. Trigger was creepy and about 4 lbs, with a lighter spring is breaks crisply at 2 lbs.

Don't modify this pistol. If you do, neither Pyramyd or Crosman will honor the warranty. Read the fine print. I put in a lighter sear spring before shooting it. When first shot, this airgun leaked out CO2 cartridges within a few seconds. Since I voided the warranty, I had to disassemble the gun and fix it myself, but it still leaks enough when inserting the CO2 that you get only 26-30 shots. New air valves from Crosman, I was told would take as long as 30 days or more to receive. That being said, I purchased a 2nd Crosman but this time not from Pyramyd. I will shoot it until it proves to function correctly before any modifications. My conversations with Pyramyd were positive and friendly but not helpful in regards to exchanging this defective air pistol to get a correctly functioning air pistol.

Good design and has the features I wanted for less $ than building from a stock 2240. It's been very accurate even with the temporary cheap $6 red dot I'm testing with. Specs are unchanged and all custom parts have fit that I've tried. Crosman parts are still available to order by phone in the USA.

It's made in China now, bring manufacturing back to the USA. I wasn't aware of the change until I received this pistol, and I strongly considered returning it. I build/modify a lot of Crosman pistols, and I will buy used USA made items from now on.

It's a good all-arounder with decent build quality. If you want a USA Crosman hit the used market before prices jump.

I'm totally appalled by the power & accuracy of the Crosman 2240XL, w/a Red Dot it becomes a privilege to shoot w/exceptional accuracy! The ideal pellet pistol for pest control & small game.

Weight feel, also a scope makes one hole groups at 25 -30 feet powerfully after 25 shots . Still put 14.3 gr pellet thru the top of my grill hood out cooking steak dog bumped arm shot my grill luv it now up grade longer barrel wood stock grips sights for targets good ones red dot 0290 junk but I like my pistol . Shipping was slow I'll pay for better shipping . Slow delivery and left beside road . Not put Safely over my fence driver ups lazy

What you read is what you get with the 2240XL .22 IM GETTING easy 40 shots and second day still powerful another 35 before I used 2 nd CO2 canister I own one and luv it 66 yrs old seen a few bb pellet guns in my day I rate 5/5 luv it you will too NOT A TOY BY ANY MEANS IT SHOOTS

I am a 70 year old male that lives in town with an acre property a large garden and a pond out back. I had a crosman 1400 60 years ago but wanted a pistol. The 2240xl even though it is a little more $ than the 2240, the threaded barrel and the steel breach is definitely worth it. I added a homemade supressor with a 3 x 9-32 scope and absolutely love it. Very accurate at 50 yards.

With the scope it is sometimes a little difficult to get the pellet in the breech facing the right way. However probably more of a me problem

The brown plastic grips, the plastic side plate, the plastic safety. These are easily upgraded & the decision must have been made to keep the cost down so can’t really complain.

Tons of upgrades & custom parts are available to modify, upgrade, & personalize yours!

I like everything about the crosman 2240xl. The price is very reasonable this is my third purchase of this co2 pistol. Everything thing I needed was on the pistol no need to get a 2240 and purchase more parts. I also purchased the Buck Rail poor man's folding stock. Put a scope and a five shot grav magazine. I am totally pleased with this pistol. I will be purchasing more for friends and family. Thank you very much

I purchased this along with the Crosman shoulder stock. Will be using this primarily indoors during the winter. The only downside is shooting it outside in 50 degree weather I am only getting 35 good
shots per capsule. I guess this is expected.

This pistol has the Crosman steel breech as well as a muzzle adapter for less than converting your OEM 2240 yourself.

It'd be awesome if it had a front sight installed, because I really like the LPA mim rear sight on my Crosman pistols.

The 2240 is the only co2 gun that I shoot regularly, because it's extremely accurate and hits very hard compared to other co2 pistols. I would not hesitate to take a squirrel with it at closer ranges out to 15 or maybe 20 yards with no upgrades. It's really nice to shoot after a very simple trigger tune.

Metal breech, trigger, fits my hand, good balance, 50 strong shots per fill, threaded barrel, options galore, fair price.

Enlarge the cocking ball, maybe make it a bit longer and more ergonomic.

It’s a true classic. 22 caliber, hits hard, very accurate even for an old guy like me. The trigger is firm but smooth, about 4 pounds. I also have an upgraded 2240 with a much lighter pull. Both are excellent. Save your money for a red dot, learn to love the factory set. I use a variety of pellets. All weights work well, maybe I give the edge to the heavier ones. I drilled a squirrel at 30 feet. It dropped like a stone. I’d suggest buying this XL from Pyramyd. Good company, good support when you need it.

I like pretty much everything, especially the threaded barrel. With the right suppressor, this pistol is quiet. It's accurate using a red dot and the price is great.

It's a quality gun,the threaded barrel and steel breech were the reason I bought it .I own standard model they are both very accurate.

The charge handle slot is a litte sharp were handle comes out of frame .

All good, perfect for target shooting.

I would buy another one if it ships with a moderator.

It hits really hard, and it's super accurate. It gets close to 50 really good shots, and it isn't pellet picky. It has a really low extreme spread with good pellets. Mine likes a really heavy pellet, like a 21 g H@N Target Trophy. This gun is impressive.

Add the LPA rear sight and an adjustable, threaded, front sight on the muzzle adapter.

It's loud, so get a silencer from Buck Rail. Use a sturdy back stop. Get lots of ammo and co2. This gun is awesome. I've never been a fan of co2, but this gun has changed my opinion. If you're on the fence about it, buy it. You can't lose.

The 2240XL should come as a kit. A stock would help stability. A suppressor because it’s a little loud, because of its power. Also a red dot or a scope because there no way to aim it on the XL model. I put a red dot on it and it is more than enough to make it super accurate.

I have a few different Crosmans and I love them all. Well built, very accurate and very affordable.

Extremely accurate for a non competitive pistol. Very solid feel, almost like a Ruger 22 pistol.

The manufacturer should provide open sights on the pistol.

You will have to purchase some sighting device. I found a red dot works great.

This pistol is so much fun. If you want add a scope/red dot/laser to your pistol you want the XL version of the 2240 with it's steel breech and 11mm dovetail mount. I've had lots of fun customizing it and there are soooo many options for this pistol. It's been around since 1956 and has been continually improved. It's crazy accurate with my red dot scope and laser on it. Pyramid air is where to buy it too. It came fast and at a really good price. I couldn't be happier.

This doesn't come with an iron rear notch sight or front sight. If you want to go iron sights, there are plenty of options to add them to this great pistol. If you think you will never want to put on a Red Dot or other scope sight, then just buy the standard 2240 non XL here on Pyramyd Air. It has a decent iron sight from the box and is cheaper. You would think because of the price this is a toy, I assure you it has some heft to it and does not feel like some of the cheap air pistols out there.
