Very accurate with only 3 pumps/ H&N Excite Wadcutters/ 10 yards/ 1/2 inch groups shooting rested

I added steel breach/ Vortex Crossfire Dot/ oiled Walnut pump.& pistol grips / all top end stuff /total invested $370 / the quality of the base 1377 makes the cost worth it to create a 10 meter match gun.

The barrel and rifling are very high quality. Clean only using nylon bore brush and Balistol...no gun oil or solvents ever...will ruin seals.

Added the Crossman stock and an old Crossman 1.5 power scope to have a great carbine sized pellet gun.

Good power at 8 pumps. Shooting at 45 ft. Group at 1&1/2 inches. Pest hit rate 40%.

I have several pellet rifles and a co2 pistol but this 1377 is fun to shoot .Im hitting tomato cans at 35ft and the pellets 7.9gr are going through. Great fun and accurate.I hit target at 100ft with steady rest.

What's not to like about the Crosman 1377? Simple, durable, accurate and very affordable. Select the velocity level by the number of pumps you put in it. This Crosman product has been around for over 70 years (Started with the Crosman 130 in the 1950's.) and has a reputation for performance. Also, it's Made in America, 55 miles from my home, in Bloomfield, NY! The 1377 is a great value in American Air Guns!

Sights; I painted mine bright green for better visibility. Needs a nice, square rear notch as a minimum. Also, the front sight is truly canted, but it is a fabricated muzzle cap. A bit of quality control would be nice; it should be perpendicular! The trigger is somewhat heavy, but quite usable. I would also appreciate a metal grip frame; I may get a steel breach option on the next one.

Buy lots of .177 pellets. It's that much fun (and cheap) to shoot.

I have 2 Crosman 1377s they are rugged, simple and accurate. They have power for paper and power for cans. All for around sixty bucks. The only modification I made was a white stripe on the front site otherwise just out of the box. I am in my eighties and can still get all the power I want. The best bargain in air gunning. Get one or more.

Astonishingly accurate right out of the box using crosman competition wadcutters and crosman hollow points. With the original sights I can hit a soda can reliably at 45 yards. Comfortable to hold and shoot. Pumping effort is reasonable.

I would like it to be offered with the steel breech and aluminum sight already installed. The trigger was rough enough to give me a blister on my finger. Even a small amount of cleanup on the casting would be a great improvement. The slope on the front sight reflects the sky and makes aiming difficult. It could easily be made vertical for about 1/8 inch to eliminate the glare. (without increasing production cost)

When you look down the bore, the rifling appears to be regular rectangular like most guns have. However, it is actually small triangular ridges protruding inwards, and only a few 1/1000 of an inch. This is probably why it is so astonishingly accurate. Great care will need to be taken when cleaning to avoid damaging the rifling. It is probably best to avoid hard alloy pellets.

It is a lot like the old Crosman rifle I shot as a child, it was 22cal & this is 177, but unlike the rifle, it is hard to cock, accurate, just harder to use than the rifle, for me, maybe not for most, it is well made & may be easier to use once I break it in.

An easier pump would be nice, it should be as easy as the rifle.

I do like the brand & quality, just miss real wood stocks.

Built in East Bloomfield, NY; about 60 mi. from my home. Nice styling and balance. Simple, durable design. Relatively inexpensive and good quality. Very good value. Consider I also own 2 Beeman P1's; the 1377 is quickly becoming as much of a favorite as those.

Sights! Front was crooked out of the packaging, but I got the gun sighted in with little trouble. Front is also hard to see, I will need to paint it orange.

If you can't afford a P1, get a 1377.

Nothing is really wrong with the stock 77 or its big sister the 22. They are wholly customizable, however. I had one a very long time ago that was given to me by a friend. It was beat, scuffed up, dirty and disreputable. For the cost of a tin of pellets. you could go out and shoot the thing all day long with good accuracy. Like Crosman's pump rifle, it was the item that introduced many of us in the US to shooting sports. You can make these represent who you are. My current build has the extended stock, the steel breech, and will have an extended barrel. We've fitted it with a lenticular sight that works well and looks badass. We're thinking of a dip in Toadflage.

These are quite accurate. You'll have to pony up three or four times as much cash for anything that will touch them.

The inability to actually adjust the sights for accuracy is why this item was returned.

Do not buy this air gun

Consistent power. Once the sight was adjusted correctly, it is pretty much right around the bull-eye.

From the box, the shots were up and right even with the most right that the rear sight can move. Have to unscrew more so that the rear sight almost comes out loose. Adjusted more to the right, then screwed it down enough so the rear sight stays in place. From that shots are more accurate. Need better degree of more left-right adjustment. It will be nice to come with scope.

Hard to beat the price for the basic pistol. Very repeatable POI relative to its price. Variable power. Lighter and more compact than the Daisy7*7 single-stroke pistols. Grip is ambidextrous and small enough for smallish women or pre-teen hands. (Might be too small if you've got Basketball Hands, though.) Launches many brands, models and weights of pellets well; very little difference in group size or POI between Daisy, RWS, H+N and JSB pellets in the 7 grain class. I got the metal breech upgrade; it really improves the look and feel of the pistol; haven't put an optic on it yet, but it's comforting to know that I can when I'm ready. (but see below for a couple of caveats)

The pricing on the metal breech installation was not at all clear. The POI is about 1.5" high at 7 meters, even with the LPA/Metal-Injection-Moulded rear sight at its lowest setting. Probably need to call Pyramid about that. The white dots on the MIM rear sight reduce contrast. Darken them to improve the sight picture. The rear attachment screw hole between the receiver and the hand-grip will give you a callus (or a blister, if you let it). A little work with a jeweler's file goes a long way. Also, the bolt handle keeps backing out of the bolt; even torquing it to 5-6 ft-lbs didn't keep it installed. (I didn't try tighter, 'cause there's not a lot of meat in the threaded portion of the parts. I expect that it will eventually damage the threads. Removable Loctite might fix that?) Crosman could add a tiny magnet or some friction at the rear of the bolt to hold the bolt in position while you're loading; the bolt runs forward under gravity assist with any muzzle-down angle.

Doesn't group quite as well as my FIL's Daisy 717, but that might be down to finding the right pellet.

Loading a pellet (especially a nose-heavy one) with the metal breech takes some dexterity and practice. I find it easiest to drop the pellet into the rear of the loading tray with the muzzle pointed slightly up, hold it in position while rotating the pistol almost vertical-muzzle-down before releasing the pellet to drop into the breech.

Loudish. Probably OK for basement/garage shooting, but it might make your neighbors a little nervous/ curious if you shoot in the backyard.

The sear return spring in mine is very heavy, which affects the feel of the trigger. Tinkerers will find this an easy thing to play with, but be careful; Changing that spring tension might make a negligent or impact discharge more likely.

Lubing the trigger and sear occasionally is an easy, cheap improvement in the shot cycle.

The pump sounds rough for the first couple strokes each shot, but it seems ok.

Great little pistol. I had one as a kid.

Everything made of plastic, change to metal. Implement actual quality control!

50 years ago, Crosman made an amazing pellet gun, a gun that could handle the abuses of a young boy dragging it through the woods of Virginia! But now, Crosman guns are defective junk made with plastic parts. Components that feel as if they will break when you touch them. Then there are the parts that don't line-up properly, and ones that are warped because of a flawed manufacturing process...Apparently, Crosman would rather rest on their laurels than implement actual quality control (see photos)...
I would suggest researching other brands before purchasing a Crosman.

An inexpensive and fun gun tp shoot. I have an older model, and it's seen better days, but it is still very accurate and easy to use. I have harvested countless squirrels and rabbits with this gun, and I can use a lower power and shoot targets in my house - no problem. Ergos are good for me, and I have XL hands.

Plastic rear sight MUST be trashed. This is the only part of the gun that has failed, and it is NOT easy to replace this part!

What i like is how convenient the power applications are, you got many options from 1 pump to 10. Pistol is accurate and to me it's not so loud when shooting it indoors.

Nothing needs no change.

If you like taking your time, dont mind some pumping and loading one pellet at a time. Then this crosman is your best bet.
