    Things I liked:

The scope was easy to install and get it zeroed in. After about 50 rounds I am shooting under 2 inch groups at 20 yards and even tighter at 10-15 yards. I like the pistol grip which makes the gun very easy to shoulder and shoot. I find the gun very easy to cock and load.

    Things I would have changed:

I haven't played with the trigger adjustment yet but out of the box it has two stages and a very long pull.

    What others should know:

The first three shots out of the gun sounded like a .22 LR round but then it quieted right down after that. The squirrels and birds don't even seem to notice the noise now when I shoot.

    Things I liked:

Great rifle. Love the 40mm AO scope. Very similar grip style to my ar. Standard scope rail is nice

    Things I would have changed:

Use a captured pin to hold cocking linkages together. The pin comes out after 15/20 shots and needs to be pressed back in. I did not notice this was happening until around my 100th shot. Pin had come out to the right and was gouging the stock. Now I have a gouge on the stock.

    What others should know:

It took me about 240 shots before dieseling stopped. Watch that linkage pin.

    Things I liked:

Incredible power for a .177 caliber rifle. This rifle nearly cleaved a 13 lined ground squirrel in half using the Crosman Premier HP pellet at about 12 yards. I knew the Crosman Premier HP had some pretty amazing ballistic test results in clay/ballistic gel, but nonetheless I was impressed seeing the real world results. Accurate. I have consistent 1/2" groups at 15 yards. Considering I am completely new to springers/gas piston rifles; it may not seem impressive, but I feel like the groups will only get tighter. Keep in mind I only have about 100 rounds through the gun at the time of this review. Still practicing the all important artillery hold.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope is downright disappointing. Shame on you Crosman, charge me the extra 25-50 bucks and bundle this beast with a decent scope... The plastic edges on this gun should be sanded smooth. I feel that the fore grip underside cuts/scrapes as the weight of the gun presses it down onto my wrist. There is no reason why these sharp plastic edges should not be sanded/machined down to something more comfortable.

    What others should know:

I bought this gun for exactly $201. It did not come with the sling, which would be nice to have, but not necessary. Be prepared to invest in a proper scope. The only other air rifle I have shot in the past besides this is the Powermaster 66 and the Crosman 2100. The Benjamin Trail NP2 seems like a an incredibly huge leap forward. If your experience is anything like mine, be prepared for something on a whole new level. Everything from how you cock the gun to how you hold it, and how you fire it is completely different.

    Things I liked:

Noise Dampener, trigger, straight shooter out-of-the-box, AO scope, best bonus.

    Things I would have changed:

Sling pin receiver hole to a slightly larger diameter to freely accept other slings. Had to drill it out in order to mount the Benjamin sling. I would go for a thicker grip.

    What others should know:

Kicks like a center fire .25cal. if you can keep it pinned you will be accurate. 14gr arrow diablo pellet used to center the scope and a predictable clockwise rotation down and to the left or quadrant #4 for 16gr predator polytip thereafter. It took less than ten shots to sight the scope. Very easy, like someone had sighted it before.

    Things I liked:

Everything! This is not my old Benjamin Airgun. Easy to cock, stock is durable for easy care in the woods or on the bench, upgraded scope is a nice touch. Accuracy was a bit poor when it first arrived but just continued to get better as I put pellets through it. At about 200 shots it settled down, became very predictable and the accuracy was better than any airgun I have ever shot. At 30m I can shoot 5/8 inch groups with standard Crosman pellets repeatedly. It is just the ticket for my pest problem!! The two stage trigger comes set well but I have tuned it a bit and it too is even better. Really am having fun with this argun!! Shoots baseline pellets with extreme accuracy. I did move up to a 10.5gr pellet which is quieter but it is already pretty quiet from the factory. Sounds like a big staple gun going off up close and almost silent a few yards away.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe just a slightly better suppressor for quietness - leave everything else alone!

    What others should know:

I was directed by Dan at PA toward this gun. He took the time to explain what it was and what it would do. He also could have sold me a much more expensive gun but was more interested in making my purchase a positive one for me. It is powerful, accurate, and an incredible buy for the money!!

    Things I liked:

The Benjamin Trail NP2 .22 caliber Air Rifle with 3-9x40 AO scope (the "Combo") is a handsome, well made, accurate and fun to shoot air rifle. It has a quiet report, yet the deep sound (not a high pitched crack) and the minor kick give just the right experience shooting this powerful air rifle, without creating a scandal with the neighbors. I am an amateur, and I can easily get 1" groups at 15 yards, and smaller groups with some concentration using my Case-Gard portable shooting rest on a small folding table. We had a serious crow problem, even though we and MOST neighbors secure their trash. The crows woke us at 4:30am. Crows do not have super sharp beaks, but they do eat other bird's eggs and babies. I killed four in one day, three at about 40 yards (I paced it off) and one closer. I hit each one on the first shot, and they died immediately. After a brief Hitchcock "The Birds" scene, they left for good. We now have robins, cardinals and other song birds in our and surrounding yards.

    What others should know:

The Benjamin Trail NP2 .22 caliber Air Rifle would be difficult for a (supervised, of course) child to use, as it takes some effort to cock, although it is not a problem for adults. Read the instructions, make sure you have a clear area with a rifle rest or some form of support while mounting the scope, and take your time mounting the scope and sighting the rifle. A good value, and great that the rifle is Made in the USA!

    Things I liked:

Decided to try this one after owning the Benjamin Trail NP XL Air Rifle. Nice gun but way too heavy and hard to cock . I'm 60 with shoulder issues. Gave it to my son-in-law. The NP2 was lighter with way less cocking effort . Gun would not pattern well. Would put 3 pellets inside a dime at 20 yards then scatter the next few. After 200 plus rounds & no improvement I returned it to PA. Decided to pony up & ordered a Walther LGV Challenger Ultra.

    Things I would have changed:

Nice gun overall, just did not meet my accuracy needs.

    Things I liked:

So far, the rifle performs as advertised. It has plenty of power in .22 caliber.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope that came with my gun is junk. The box that contained the scope had been opened and I'm sure that it had been mounted before. After moving the adjustment all the way to the left, the average P O I was still impacting a few inches to the right of center. Notice I stated (average P O I) not group, because there was no grouping at all. For comparison, I had a NIkon 4x12x50 that I wasn't using so, after mounting it, the rifle easily held quarter ($0.25) sized groups at 50 yards.

    What others should know:

The Good people at Pyramyd Air offered to replace my scope, I figured I'd just get another piece of junk, so I'm leaving the Nikon on the Benjamin and really enjoying shooting it. It's Very back yard friendly, (be sure to check local laws in your area). the sound of the pellet impacting the target is louder than the rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Everything. I wouldn't buy it if it was for $1. I would still use Pyramyd Air because they are truly the best. But this particular gun is awful.

    What others should know:

Terrible gun. Very loud. Kicks bad. Shoots all over the place. Got the first one. It was awful. I thought maybe it got damaged in shipping. Pyramyd Air were Awsome and exchanged it for a brand new one no questions asked. Yet the second one was as bad. No 2 pellets were any close at 20 yards. Tried every scenario. Even took it to a gun shop and laser sighted the scope to perfect Zero. Upon trying to shoot it was again all over the place. This is the worst pellet gun I ever owned. The $69 Walmart crosman was a million time better.

Came without a sling. A call to customer support and one was on the way. After 300 shots and cleaning and polishing the barrel, groups 3/4" at 30 yards.

    Things I would have changed:

Would like scope with mill dots

    What others should know:

Great package for the price. Clean and polish the barrel after 250 - 300 shots and the groups will be greatly improved

    Things I liked:

I've put a tin of pellets through it and it has settled down. It's very accurate out to 30 yards. I can group 1.5 inch or less off shooting sticks. Better on a bench. Not counting flyers of course. It likes cheap Crosman Premiers. I had the original Trail NP, but gave it away to a friend, so I purchased this one hoping it would be as good. It's got a better trigger than the original NP, so no need to replace this one. It has a different hold that I'm still trying to figure out. This one seems to want you to pull it into your shoulder. The original Trail NP, you had to barely hold it and just let it float in your hand. Not sure why it's so different, but once you get used to it, this one is a little simpler to shoot. I would recommend this one to any new shooter.

    Things I would have changed:

The bundled scope is ok, but I would rather have a mill dot. If you sight in at 20 yards, it holds its POA from 10 to 30. But just a little breeze, or shooting downhill, and you need to add Kentucky windage. Mill dots are a big help.

    What others should know:

The shroud is plastic. The original Trail NP was metel. Also, my original NP had a wood stock. This one is lighter, but it just doesn't have the classic rifle feel that my old NP had. If you are going to drag it through the bush picking of dove and quail and rabbit, at the end of the day, you won't care. If you want to show it off to your non airgun friends, get the wood stock. PS, don't forget to tighten the stock screws and make sure the scope if mounted. This one tends to loosen up during break in.

I love everything about this rifle. From the quality to the unbelievable low price point. Comes complete with all necessary accessories out of the box. A blast too shoot, very accurate and very powerful to easily take down small game. The balance of this rifle is perfect !!! It just sits in my hand perfectly with its pistol grip stock.

    Things I would have changed:

The feel of a well made rifle. It has real good power and is surprisingly quiet. It was pretty accurate right out of the box. I'm very pleased with this rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

The plastic shroud covering the barrel. I believe a metal one would be better.

    What others should know:

It's worth the price, especially if you get the combo.

    Things I liked:

Power and accuracy. Trigger started out with a long and creepy first stage butting up against an indistinct second stage. Hard to shoot accurately with the trigger in that state. The directions on adjusting has you making small, 1/4 turn adjustments and that's good advice but ended up turning the adjustment screw one full turn before things got better. added another 1/4 turn and we have a decent trigger pull. First stage butts up to a solid second stage and, while not target-rifle crisp on the let-off, It's pretty good. Quarter size groups at 30 yards. Upgraded scope is decent and the included sling is a nice touch. Good value for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

Can't really think of a thing now that the trigger has been adjusted.

    What others should know:

Be sure and give it a good cleaning before firing. The barrel was well greased from the factory. Don't be afraid to adjust the trigger until it's to your liking.

    Things I liked:

This rifle is well designed and put together very well. Fantastic purchase. I am on the high side of 75 years old and not in the best of health so I haven't been able to do much shooting but really looking forward to the time that I will be able. I have shot maybe 75 pellets and very pleased so far. Too early for me to measure accuracy. Would I buy this again...................for sure I would.

    Things I would have changed:

Replace the plastic with a metal end of the barrel shroud and also at the back end of the compression chamber.

    What others should know:

Pyramid sent it out to me immediately and well packaged to boot. I have only had one other air gun, a HW55 that i purchased from Robert Law at Air Rifle Headquarters in 1969 0r 1970. It failed me late last summer and I am pleased with this Benjamin as a replacement.

    Things I liked:

The gun is a lot of fun to shoot. I mainly using it for plinking up to 50 yards, though I hope to take out the fox who is dining on our chickens! The NP2 is very easy to cock, is extremely quiet, powerful, far more accurate than I am (I'm new to shooting) and comfortable to fire in various positions.

    Things I would have changed:

After shooting about 700 pellets I swapped out the trigger for a Charlie Tuna CBR trigger. The factory trigger is good, but I found myself tensing up when I was trying to get the second stage to break. The CBR has a much shorter first stage and takes a fraction of the force during the second stage. As a result I'm able to keep a lighter grip on the stock and my groupings have tightened up.

    What others should know:

I wanted to keep the cost for the gun & scope around $200 and I feel the NP2 trail combo combined with the CBR trigger is a excellent setup. I had read about the recoil spring/nitro piston guns have, but I was surprised at how strong the recoil was on the NP2. Not having anything to compare it to, I can't say it recoils more or less than any other springer/gas piston, but be mindful that it has some kick.

    Things I liked:

I am impressed with the accuracy I wasn't at first put part of that was me. It is critical to use an artillery hold you cant fight this gun you wont hit anything. Also use the cheaper pellets during the break in it really doesn't matter. the hn field taget trophy are really accurate after some break in time. I will know more after I finish breaking in.

    Things I would have changed:

maybe the long first stage of the trigger. Maybe a little less travel. Possiblly a mil dot scope option. didn't even install the provided scope looked nice but not a mil dot.

    What others should know:

This gun will not be super accurate at first needs some cycles on the piston. After a few hundred cycles the accuracy keeps getting better.

    Things I liked:

The over all feel of the gun. I changed the trigger but went back to original trigger.

    Things I would have changed:

Replace plastic cone on shroud with a metal one like the one on the NP

    What others should know:

This is my second review of the same NP2. After shooting thousands of rounds through it, I upped my rating from a three star to a overall four star rating. The reason I did not give it a five star rating is that even after changing every seal on the gun and changing out the gas ram I still could not get my gun to average more than 720 fps with Crosman Premier Pellets. The accuracy has gotten better after as the gun has aged. My advise if you are concerned with your gun shooting at advertised speed check it out of the box, it may be the only chance to trade it in on one that does shoot harder. Remember once you break into it, the warranty is voided.

    Things I liked:

Sound- barrel shroud really makes a difference. Trigger- the CBT (clean break trigger) is a big improvement over the last gen triggers. The 1st stage isn't adjustable, but the second stage can be set very nicely. Scope- most combos have bad/cheap scopes, but this one is pretty good. I would like to be able to buy another to put on my discovery, since it is a good size and has good clarity, but evidently Centerpoint does not sell this model outright. Accuracy- I don't really shoot from a rest, so I don't know if I can get dime-sized groups (I did sight it in with about a nickel-sized group, but wasn't really trying to get any better), but usability shooting is pretty spot-on. Fun to plink with. Definitely better than the days of the 760 Pump aster.

    Things I would have changed:

Weight- it's pretty heavy, but that's the nature of the beast with piston guns. To get the power, and fun (I mean, you break the barrel) you gotta have the weight. Sights- open sights are missed. Crosman, find a way (notch at the end of the shroud to line up so that front post is in-line, etc.)

    What others should know:

Fun gun. This is my only piston rifle, so I can't really compare to others. I do like shooting it, and pellets are a lot cheaper than .22LR, when you can find it. Easy shooter. I was worried about the finicky-ness of springers and grip/hold, but have not had any issues thus far; I've shot guns my whole life and haven't really adjusted anything to fit this air rifle. Decent sling. Mine wasn't included, but PyramydAir promptly sent a replacement. I don't think a lot of thought was put into its design/hang, but it's a $10 sling. If you want an NP2 but don't like this stock, all the other NP2's are the same, only differ in their furniture (Summit, Eagles, etc.) The .22 is a definite improvement in power over the .177. I love my .22's!

    Things I would have changed:

There is a lot of fussing about the safety being in front of the trigger I haven't had any troubles with it thus far

    What others should know:

I am a greenhorn to air rifle hunting but i do know a excellent made rifle when i see one. The Benjamin Trail NP2 has everything you will ever need I can't afford the $500+ rifles This Benjamin Trail NP 2 is the gap between them If you buy one you will see
