Light weight, easy cocking and a solid gun that is easy to handle.
Things I would have changed:I would like a 22 cal pellet gun (barrel break) that shoots faster then 800 fps but then the weight gets out of control. Beeman has the best balance with one of the lightest weight barrel break rifles and a fast 800+ fps output. A 10 pound rifle would not be worth the buy at least for me.
What others should know:So I put my own scope on that i had laying around for years. It took me about 30 shots to zero in the scope.
This bad boy rifle is spot on. I can hit half dollar shots all day long at 30 yards. Squirrels hitting my bird feeders
Will not have a chance and that is why I bought a Beeman.

Accuracy, quality, ruggedness, trigger
Things I would have changed:Add rings for a shoulder strap
What others should know:I just wanted to add my two cents. I bought my R9(.20 cal)in December of 1995. The spring broke after two days. At the time, I lived about 40 minutes away from Beeman USA(Huntington Beach, Calif.)so I drove it there to have the spring replaced while I waited. They didn't have any springs for an R9 so they told me they put in a modified R1 spring instead. I have since put over 9000 rounds through it without a single problem(Beeman Kodiaks worked the best). It still shoots with amazing accuracy and I still use it almost daily to rid my yard of pests. The one down side is ammo is getting harder to find.

It's looks. Nice stock, fit and bluing.
Things I would have changed:The new rifle had accuracy issues out of the box which I suspect are from an inconsistent action lock up. I cleaned the barrel and mounted a 2-7x Hawke scope. The first shots were 4.5" low at 10 yards from a rest so that would be about a 30 MOA droop. Further shooting typically yielded 2.5" groups at 25 yards through about 250 shots with no improvement and some vertical stringing. I used Crosman Premier 14.3 gr. and JSB 15.89 gr. domed pellets. There are a variety of things that could be causing an inconsistent action lock up such a breach washer that's a hair too thick or a cocking arm interference of some kind. Or maybe it was something else entirely. The point is I expect much more for such an expensive new air rifle. I don't want to wait for 1000 break-in shots to see if a new rifle can shoot or not. Or end up having to troubleshoot a new rifle for anything. However, if you are looking for a beautiful "project" rifle, the Beeman R9 may be for you.
What others should know:Customer service pointed out to me that the manual says it takes 1000 shots for the metal spring to brake in.

This air rifle is phenomenal! It shoots like a tuned gun right out of the box. Maybe I got lucky but I hear no twang what's so ever. Shoots in one hole at 20yds which is what my basement allows. Its very light and with a compact airmax scope makes for an amazing shooting package. Trigger is great as well although I love the T06 triggers.
Things I would have changed:Nothing, well maybe the price which is quite high now but it is still worth the money in comparison to what's out there.
What others should know:This air rifle is not hold sensitive as opposed to the Diana 34 which I also own. By far it is my favorite one out of six rifles I have, Diana 350 Ntec, 460, 34, Walther Terrus, old crosman.

Bought the 0.177 as a refurbished unit. Other than one very minor scratch on the stock, I would never have known this is a refurb unit. It was received with the Weihrauch HW95 style stock rather than the Beeman style stock. The gun is very accurate and easy to shoot. With the addition of an Athlon Neos 4-12x40 AO scope, it has become my most accurate springer.
Things I would have changed:I would have preferred the Beeman style stock shown in the picture when purchased rather than the Weihrauch HW95 stock.
What others should know:This R9 now has over 1300 shots through it. Out of the 23 brands and types of pellets tried so far, this rifle prefers the 0.177 H+N Baracuda Match 10.65 gr pellets. The center to center 10 shot groupings for these pellets vary from 0.16 to 0.39 inch at 10 yds, from 0.17 to 0.50 inch at 20 yds, and from 0.49 to 0.87 inch at 30 yds.

Things I would have changed:Got mine with a loose front sight they sent me a new one within a week and a half two weeks

Great fit and finish, easy to shoot.
Things I would have changed:Flip up rear sight would be a big improvement. Safety is not two-way. "I wish springer guns didn't make that sound"
What others should know:This is a great rifle, I added a Williams rear sight and now it shoots great. I found the stock iron sights very difficult to line up.
Weird quirk is that once the gun comes off safe it can't be made safe again - it has to be fired.
Makes a loud "bonk" but doesn't sound suspicious to neighbors.

I've got the 22 caliber. Good looking, accurate, powerful. I've had this for couple of weeks and am approaching 1000 rounds thru it. I shoot in my urban back yard with 50 and 60' ranges. The gun is pretty quiet, and so far, no complaints from neighbors. The iron sights are nice, but my eyes are not. I'm using a scope.
Things I would have changed:nothing
What others should know:I've tried 3 types of pellets so far. Crossman premium domed, H&N FTT, and JSB exact heavies. They have all been good.

Dead on accuracy out of the box. Great fit and feel.
Things I would have changed:I wish the forward sight had a little contrast to help see it in lower light. White or orange would be nice.
What others should know:Do your homework. Don't shop just based on current tends or price alone.

It's beautifully crafted and very solid. I will be using it only for pest control, and even now haven't shot it more than a dozen times ... not even enough to feel confident about sighting. So giving it a star rating is hard. But I am very confident that it will do the job well. I'll know a lot more at the end of gardening season.
Things I would have changed:I have another air rifle with fibre optic sighting, which I prefer. I didn't buy a scope since little of my shooting is over 25 yards. Maybe should have? Critters move quickly and I find the fibre optic sighting easier to align. Maybe just a questions of getting used to something different.
What others should know:Pyramyd folks were very helpful in making the selection and purchase. Very professional and responsive.

the cocking action is very very smooth and quiet. the accuracy is on par with my old diana 34 (1/4 inch groups c to c @ 15 yds.) right out of the box!! beautiful finish on everything. it has an excellent trigger also.
Things I would have changed:i don't like the trigger safety placement. my scope is in the way when i try to take the safety off with the gun shouldered and must use my left hand to push the safety off. it's no big deal and i can live with it.
What others should know:i use a 1/4 inch steel ball bearing ( epoxied on a short wooden dowel) to seat the pellets to the same depth

Excellent accuracy so far with the majority of pellets tested, however I have only been able to shoot at 45 ft as the weather has not been cooperating. The trigger is decent after being adjusted. Fit and finish of wood stock and metal are good. Easy to cock.
Things I would have changed:It would have been nice to know that the tab holding the trigger adjustment screw needed to be bent prior to being able to adjust the trigger. The stock does not allow for a good cheek weld for open sight use. I was planning on scoping it anyhow but was going to shoot it with open sights to break it in.
What others should know:If this is in stock and you are contemplating the purchase, do not wait, spend the money.

Owned a .177 cal for 2 weeks. I found it Light, compact, very easy to cock, well built, gorgeous stock with an awesome trigger. Of course I personally prefer a synthetic stock that I can bang around and just wipe it off to clean it.
Things I would have changed:After 2 weeks of owner ship I would get rid of open sights (who shoots this powerful gun without a scope), put a shroud on the front barrel, install a gas ram, put the safety on the back not on the side and offer it in synthetic. Now that is a rifle I would own. I eventually sent it back. I found the gun not nearly as accurate as they claim. I shot a lot of pellets, at 20 yards, of different kinds and the best were JSB 8.44, 10.34, Air Arms 8.4 & 10.3. It was accurate but no more so than my Diana 350 N-Tec Mag or my Sig ASP20. It was accurate when not falling apart. First thing I did when it arrived was loktite the front stock screws. Next I tried shooting it with open sights. Not possible because the Monte Carlo stock was to high for open sights. Mounted a scope on it and it shot great for 50 pellets then went crazy. Found the front trigger screw loose so put loktite that. It shot well for a bit then the front trigger screw came loose,. Put loktite on it then shot it.
What others should know:Until the rear trigger screw almost fell out. Put loktite on it and was shooting it when the front sight fell right of the gun. I tried to shoot it without it but no way. It sprayed pellets all over. The front sight is necessary. After a day waiting for the Loctite to dry went shooting again. I could not get the gun to group after 10-20 shots. After looking it over to see what else might be wrong or loose I finally gave up and returned it. After hearing so much hype and praise for this gun I was really disappointed. I may have gotten a lemon but aside from the aesthetic, I can not recommend this gun. I bought the R7 for my wife and it seems to be ok. Waiting for the scope and then we will see if it is as accurate as they claim. I am not a great artillery hold shooter so I devise other ways to shoot these springers. My Sig shoots amazing right off the bag. I do very well with my Diana 350 N-Tec with a modified bag rest.

Although I'm generally an underlever fan, I like everything about this rifle! It's slightly smaller and lighter than most of my rifles, so fits in well with them. The first thing I noticed was its very solid construction. The checkering is good and sharp. The stock is well shaped for me. There's plenty of room for my favorite scope, a UTG thats a bit over 15" long. Am glad I waited a couple of years after getting involved with this hobby...i believe that after getting some other high end air rifles, I can better appreciate it for what it is!
Things I would have changed:Mine came with iron sights rather than the muzzlebrake that came on earlier versions. I use scopes instead of irons, and don't hunt with airguns, and prefer the appearance of the brake. No big, I have ordered a muzzlebrake that emulates the OE unit, so I have that is covered!
What others should know:I ordered a refurbished rifle, and the stock is broken on the area of the action forks, but it had been repaired. I don't care, because I bought it to shoot, not to gawk at. That is more than made up for since it shoots VERY solidly and accurately. I was expecting it to be twangy, and it is absolutely not that way at all! The trigger is excellent so I suspect that someone has been inside of it and made improvements. So I can save the money that I thought i was gonna spend on a tune!
I can't say enough about my experience of dealing with Pyramyd Air. Again! It shipped instantly and arrived in perfect shape! I confess...I'm a PA fan boy! Ya can't go wrong when you deal with Pyramyd Air!

This gun is very well built. Nothing cheap on this gun. Open sights are high quality and adjustable. I mounted a Hawke 3x9 airmax scope and consistently hold 5 shot half inch groups at 25 yards with JSB exact 13.73 gr.
Things I would have changed:Drop in comb seems about right for a scope but is a little too high for open sights. Hard to get your eye low enough to line up open sights. I would drop the comb on rear stock an inch or so to make it acceptable for both scope use and open sights.
What others should know:This gun has noticeable spring twang, but I guess thats to be expected with a springer.
Shot avg. of 708 fps with JSB exact 13.9 grain
Shot avg. of 772 fps with H&N field target 11.42 grain
The shot cycle is fairly quiet registering an average 108 decibels

Beautiful stock and finish. Superb trigger. Nicely balanced. Easy to cock. Very accurate, after putting an older Bushnell XLT scope on it, achieving dime sized groups at 25 yards. About 200 shots put through it with Air arms, Diabolo Field, 22 cal, 16 gram pellets. 50 Yards require a lighter pellet. Used Benjamin Discovery, Hollow Point, 14.3 Grams and achieved good results but not as good as the heavier pellet at 25 Yards. (May need a lighter pellet?)
Things I would have changed:The Safety mechanism is getting somewhat "flaky" . Doesn't always disengage completely.
What others should know:You get what you pay for and this pellet gun performs in every aspect. (I returned a Crosman Diamondback SBD Air Rifle, NP Elite for this.) Absolutely no comparison in consistent groups and accuracy.
