This is a very good looking rifle with good weight and feel. The plastic stock and forearm look very close to dark walnut wood. The plastic receiver looks like shiny gold metal - can't really tell that it's plastic.. The pumping lever is hefty cast metal. Easy to load a pellet into the chamber. Easy to pump 10 times - requires very little effort! Although the butt is shiny smooth plastic it doesn't slip inside my shoulder when shooting. Nothing about this rifle looks cheap. Quite accurate - shot 1/4-inch to 1" groups right out of the box. I like the 20" octagonal barrel and the fact that it is rifled. I'm glad that the rear sight not only adjustable for height but windage as well. Fun to shoot!
Things I would have changed:Make the phillips screw that adjusts the windage sight longer. Hard to get back in if you take it all the way out.
What others should know:I took a chance on ordering this because the price is so low I thought it must be low quality - I was wrong. I am pleasantly surprised that this is such a high quality air rifle!

Never should have bought. Need tweezers to load pellets. Half the time it doesn’t shoot BB’s. Very unreliable. Item number 1799.

Well firstly I would like to say if you are looking for a practice gun for your kids or even for your self, this is a must have to try out. It's very easy for kids to pump and and lightweight. It has enough force to put a hole through think tin cooking pan. It can be loaded very fast also so you dont have to waste time.

This is probably one of the better air guns I ever fired and at this price it point kind of surprised me. Pros: it's solid good weight, easy to pump, was very happy with accuracy nice tight groups. My Teenage daughter was all smiles shooting it. Cons: Not a fan of the load ramp, Good idea but I find it still doesn't help. Going along with the loading issues, the port for bb's to load into the barrel is direct opposite of pellet loading. I didn't know that was an issue till my daughter accidentally has pellets sliding into the bb port. You want to test design flaws give it to a kid.

Great craftsmanship on this one. Looks good and shoots good. Can’t wait to get some targets and see if I can hit the bullseye!

I bought this1866 about Just over a month ago , have shorter Probably 150 times .This thing works great The only problem I have, is , 75 years old Shake a little bit Fat fingers I can say Make it easy to load it for us, Old timers I have shop pellet guns Since I was back in the 50s Taking many a critter ! I have shot this thing at 20 yd. And it's not no more Then a 3 quarter " group My wife shot it today With 1⁄2" group LOL All I can say is if there's some way you can make it a little easier for us old guys to load it I'll shoot till the day I die Love this thing , I am buying 1 and 2 weeks for my wife This thing works great Shoot straight Hits hard Puts them down Yes I do have a scope on it Our open sites , I can shoot either 1And they both work great The only thing I can say Make it easier for us old guy with shaking hands to load, maybe drop the pellet straight in!

Purchased two as gifts for the kids. Moving up from Red Ryder’s. Overall, looks of the rifle are great. Length and weight of rifle is more in line to a .22 rifle. So obviously cheaper to practice shoot with the 1866, until they are ready to move up. Overall, nice rifle. Would recommend.

I purchased this model to start my grandson in shooting sports. We have had some really good times with it. Easy operation. Lightweight. Great starter gun. The sights were dead on after a slight adjustment for him. The instruction manual is very easy to follow and is full of useful information.

I bought about a week ago, and so far doing pretty good. I've fired it in wind blowing around 20mph and the thing is still pretty accurate(with small adjustments to deal with wind). The quality is pretty good for something in this price range too. It feels nice and good weight in my opinion

I just bought this today, tested it out, and as my first air rifle I ever owned I can say this is great for beginners, real easy and simple to use, but doesn't feel like you're down graded. Overall an amazing beginner airsoft gun.

This gun is just plain fun. Very accurate shooting both bbs and pellets. It's good enough that I can shoot it in the hallway of my home.
