    Things I liked:

Only fired several hundred shots. Seems very solid, well made.

    What others should know:

Very old school, heavy, especially muzzle heavy. No problem if you are used to it. Tedious to clock and load. OK for practice but would problematic / tiring for competition. Haven't shot enough to give opinion on accuracy, assuming it's good. Good trigger and sights. Looks good with red laminated grips. Nice trip down memory lane, decent price.

    Things I liked:

Everything. Especially when Im able to dry fire and can take it anywhere without lugging a pump or compressor or extra cylinders.

    Things I would have changed:

Plain dark brown wood like thats going to help the performance. Lol i just like the look of dark wood on certain pellet guns and firearms.

    What others should know:

Very accurate. Nice trigger out of box didn't have to adjust. Simple and easy to work and shoot. Reminds me of shooting my SW model 52. Love it. Also want to let you know if you want one got to jump on it. If their out of stock it might be a while. But if you wait it out you wont regret it.

    Things I liked:

Nice grips! Good sights. Good trigger.Seems to be accurate but I've only shot it offhand.

    Things I would have changed:

A better owner's manual would be nice. It came with several tools, sight blades, etc, but I can't even tell what some of them are for. They're not mentioned in the manual. I fired the first pellet and when I lowered the gun the trigger fell on the floor. The set screw had been left loose. After putting the trigger back on I decided to look the rest of the pistol over more closely and found the front sight blade also had not been tightened down and was very loose.

    What others should know:

Overall I am pleased with this pistol. It will be a while before I have time to test it for accuracy and consistent velocity. It will be interesting to try various pellets in it as well.

    Things I liked:

Nice looking grips. Easy to cock. Good trigger (I've also ordered the trigger upgrade and will try that for kicks once it arrives).

    Things I would have changed:

Very hard to load. I have a Baikal 46m and this seems like a much tighter fit with the same pellets. I can deal with it but it's a surprise given how similar these are.

    What others should know:

Mine was immediately recalled when I first received it and I just recently got it back from Air Venturi. This afternoon was the first time I was able to try it. Had a hard time dialing the sights in for repeated accuracy. This is a different experience than I had with my Baikal IZH-46M which is repeatedly accurate when hand held at 10 meters. I'm going to continue working with it and hoping it will turn out to be as accurate as the Baikal. I will update the review based on subsequent experiences.

    Things I liked:

Extreme accuracy for a good price. You won't be disappointed. I accidentally left it loaded with air but no pellet for 17 days. No problem at all.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. I only had to slightly adjust the sights to put one pellet on top of another

    What others should know:

Shipped with very light trigger pull.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

The gun fit my hand as it came out of the box. The trigger was set VERY light, required some adjustment to meet competition minimum. Accuracy is excellent. To get a pistol this good at this price point is phenomenal! You may not win the Olympics with it, but it will get you into the nationals. For a person training for Olympic style shooting, this IS the best pistol available under $1000.

    What others should know:

I ordered this AV 46M on December 22 and did not receive it until January 17. Quite a story, it seems that Air Venturi contacted Fed Ex and had the air gun shipped back to their factory for adjustment. The velocity was not up to US specs. They made the adjustments and sent the air gun back to me, however the gun was missing the owners manual and the palm shelf which is part of the pistol grip. The manual is no big deal as I downloaded one off the internet and printed it out but I need that palm shelf in order to shoot the gun in competition. I do not know if Air Venturi misplaced it when they disassembled the gun or if it was not included in the box by Pyramyd Air or not included in the box from the factory. I just received an email today from Air Venturi saying that they found the palm shelf and are shipping it to me. I will send a review update soon.

    Things I liked:

This is a very well-made air pistol with just about all of the features that the $1500 to $2500 international competition pistols have. You get multi-option front and rear sights, adjustable grips (with enough "meat" to be altered to match your hand), and a great trigger with multiple adjustments. I haven't owned one of the original "Izzys", so I can't compare the two - but I can say that I really, really like the AV-46M.

    Things I would have changed:

It would be nice if Air Venturi would include the Owner's manual since it isn't that long. They should also provide more info on trigger adjustments so you won't have to experiment to figure out which way to turn the adjustment screws to increase or decrease the settings.

    What others should know:

The cocking effort on this pistol compared to my Beeman P1 and P3 is significantly lower. Just don't rush it. You should definitely see BB Pelletier's review articles before buying an AV-46M.

    Things I liked:

Easy to load, easy to shoot, easy to score better than ever before. Out of the box I thought something was wrong as I took 5 bag rested shots at my target from 30 feet away but I could only see one hole, I thought I was perhaps missing the mark, but when I went up to the trap all 5 shots had formed the hole that I saw on the target. The hole was only 1/4 inch in size. All five pellets were in the trap so I know I hit the same spot. Amazing accuracy for out of the box bag rested shooting. Easy to download the manual on the pyramid site or save a tree and view it online. Simple rugged Russian accuracy. I shot it so many times I oiled it the same day and it works even better now. Really not picky with pellets, practice pellets were scoring nearly as good as Meisterkluggen. So easy to load and the cocking effort is minimal, easily adjusted sites, but mine were perfect out of the box. I have about ten other airgun target pistols in the $500 to $1500 price range, this beat all!

    Things I would have changed:

Perhaps have some place to mount an optic, but even that is not really needed as you have fully adjustable windage and elevation capabilities as well as including two additional front posts. No Frills box, this needs a good case (Most of the pistol cases sold on the site are too small though) Looking forward to getting my standing stance used to this gun for casual and serious competitions. The weight is right as it helps keep you steady and the trigger can be set so light....Be careful, no safety at all so a shot can go off if you breathe on the trigger, keep it pointed in a safe direction when loaded as always.

    What others should know:

This sold out fast, I lucked out and got one and it has been and excellent addition to my collection, I finally have a gun that can support going from casual shooting to competitions, the gun and trigger are that good. By far the the best fit and trigger on any of my guns, it just fits and works so well, and no need for air tanks for PCG Pistols, shoot anytime. Indoor friendly and super quiet. I would like to see this in a Blue stock color Scheme too as then you could have two pistols for friendly competition with a friend.

    Things I liked:

This pistol is simply awesome. It is very accurate and not picky to pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

Contrasting front sight (both rear and front sights are black and blend with target, so I putted the piece of yellow tape on the front sight)

    What others should know:

After simple adjustment can fire 10 shots (10 yards, free hand) with less than spread of a penny (I believe it is pistol's accuracy, or maybe the Russian with Russian pistol chemistry). The best pellets for this pistol are: RWS Meisterkugeln (7.0 Grains), RWS Hobby (7.0 Grains), JSB SCHaK Middle Weight (8.02 Grains), JSB Match Diabolo Exact RS (7.33 Grains), JSB Simply Pellets (8.26 Grains), Sig Venom Round (7.87 Grains), H&N Sport (8.18 Grains)

    Things I liked:

The pistol looks cool and the cocking effort is extremely easy due to the linkage except for the last bit of the uncock which pops open the breech. I hope that loosens up a bit with some breaking and lubrication. The wrist angle is modern unlike a lot of alternatives in the price range. The grip fits very well out of the box. The SSPs are easy to use without getting into scuba tanks etc. The sights give you a lot of variation, adjust easily and you can set it up for a sub six hold. The feel for the gun is right. This seems like the lowest price "entry level" 10 m gun available. I competed last year with a borrowed LP300. I also have/had a 777, FWB 65, G6 and FAS. The grip angles, cocking, sights and feel of those aren't as good. you'd have a difficult time getting setup for sub six hold without permanent modification to the rear sights. The 65 and FAS have nice triggers too, but the FAS is low on power (dirty holes) and I couldn't cock the 65 without tiring my wrist.

    Things I would have changed:

My gun would randomly lose air before I could take a shot. Lubrication of the piston seal as mentioned in the manual didn't fix it. I read pilkguns information on the pistol and lubricated through the transfer port holding the muzzle down which gets to the valve seal and this resolved the problem. The manual should mention this and also consider shipping with some lube. The IZH came with a little tool kit and with this one you get just the alternative rear sight. The back of the palm shelf has a very sharp uncomfortable edge but it seems to be better with the grip adjusted to be a bit looser. The trigger could have more first stage weight, like 450 grms, but this is a feature usually found in the full price pistols.

    What others should know:

The rear sight blade screw threads are "backward" because you're turning the bottom of the screws. Use righty loosey. See notes on lubrication. The gun is a bit heavy and nose heavy but this helps me with stabilization. The price is good in that a new IZH from overseas or a used one on ebay are about the same. You get one that hasn't been "improved". This pistol has the right modern feel compared with other entry level guns. I havent shot many full matches yet but I think I could rapidly get into the 530s having shot 540s last year. I'll update after more experience.

I have owned a 46M for 6 years . This pistol is very, very accurate, I have fired it thouthands of times without a glitch. Excellent trigger, good grip.

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Shoots as good as pistols costing much more...

    Things I liked:

Great looking gun, fast shipping by PA. Well packed for shipping. Grip to me is a piece of art.

    Things I would have changed:

No instruction manual included. Would be nice to have extra parts included (breech seals). Maybe a hard plastic case with foam padding would be a nice way to package, especially at the price point.

    What others should know:

Breech seals are bad right out of the box when I went to shoot it. Hopefully PA will do the right thing and replace them for free. Unknown accuracy at this point since I cannot shoot it yet, so 1 star for now.
