Description
The only difference between the Beretta model 84FS BB gun and the firearm is the ammo. Other than that, you won't be able to tell the difference. You'll also notice less noise, MUCH cheaper ammo and have a lot more fun.
Because this CO2 BB gun is such a close copy of the firearm, you'll want to use it to maintain proficiency without the high ammo costs and range fees. You'll get a lot of shooting done in your home with this handgun...and at just pennies a shot.

Accuracy.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing in particular, I had the real Beretta 84 and this bb gun resembles it very well; the blowback make you remember the real one.
What Others Should KnowIt seems to prefer Umarex steel bbs, and you must put 16 or 17 bbs in the magazine and be sure that the bb to be fired is aligned, a bbs off center result in a trigger that you cannot pull.
How well it replicates the actual pistol. It is pretty accurate out to 60 feet. The manual does not address the fact that it has a take down lever which is easy to use. (Search YouTube air gun take down) It allowed me to add molly directly to the chambering system to improve the action. Even with a long trigger pull it is manageable. I expended several co2 cartridges before I was able to hold just before the break. The safety and slide release are well within reach even with my smaller hands.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt would be nice not to see the piercing mechanism.
What Others Should KnowIt is fun to shoot and the magazine is easy to load.
It does have the look and feel of a real one. Sights are OK. Magazine release is a little stiff but I expect this will all get run in with use. Slide locks open on last round. Accuracy?! It's a BB gun. I could probably hit a 2 liter bottle at 20 ft consistantly (and get better with practice.)
Things I Would Have ChangedA DA/SA trigger would be nice.
What Others Should KnowA little loud, louder than my CO2 revolvers, probably a result of the blowback action. The trigger pull, though light starts from what would be the DA position so its quite a ways to get it to snug up before taking a shot. As it works in, I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Excellent quality gun that looks like the real Beretta! Mostly all metal with the exception of the grips. Very compact gun but extremely well balanced and a joy to hold and shoot. Blowback is super crisp and the first few shots are very punchy. Trigger is nice and not very heavy - just right in my opinion. Magazine is full size and and BB's are fairly easy to load into it. Magazine release and trigger safety are excellent and easy to deploy. No white warning markings is a bonus! Accuracy is fairly good once you get used to the recoil. Comes packaged in a nice little box!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe C02 piercing mechanism is visible at the bottom of the handgrip which is ashame since the maker went to great lenghts to mimic the real firearm. I much prefer the screw in type piercing mechanism via allen key tool. Real wood grips would be awesome! Add white markings to the sites.
What Others Should KnowGreat pistol to have in your collection!
Great addition to my Beretta collection. Looks great. Feels great in the hand. Weight and balance are perfect. Blowback is heavy, but realistic. Very solid. All metal except for grips. Accuracy is very good for a short barrel. Consistently puts 5 shots into a 2 inch ring from 10 feet and about 3 shots out of 5 in the 2" ring from 20 feet. Made spec for all practical purposes: Using Hornady Black Diamond BBs (5.36 grain) in a 5 shot string, Max Velocity was 358 fps vs 360 advertised. Lo velocity was 343 fps, Mean was 351.6 fps, SD was 4.02 and Variance was only 16.24. Shooting another string would probably have met spec but I would call 358 max fps close enough. Umerex Steel BBs (5.29 grain) did not do so well with Max velocity at 323 fps. For a short barrel, accuracy is much better than my Makarov and Walther PPK/S.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger, trigger and trigger. Very rough '1st catch'. You have to fiddle with the pull to get the first catch to release. Once it releases, the 'second catch' is much better but still not great. If you are taking continuous shots, you can keep shooting once you get past the 'first catch' if you don't release the trigger to go past the 'first catch'. You will get the feel for it but I'm hoping that first catch will smooth itself out eventually with use or break in. Also, both front and rear sights are black and the front sight is thin, so sighting visibility is not great. I put a white dot on the front sight to make visibility better. I am not crazy about the plastic butterfly on the bottom of the magazine as a way of piercing the CO2 cartridge, I prefer an allen key to do the job.
What Others Should KnowThis gun is a great addition to my collection of Berettas which includes the M92A1, M92FS and the M9A3. If you love Berettas, as I do, you will love this little Beretta and it should be in your collection in spite of any shortcomings. I was able to get about 30 to 40 shots from a CO2 cylinder due to the great blowback. I am very willing to sacrifice some CO2 for the realism of the blowback. I was surprised that the Black Diamond BBs weighing a tad more than the Umarex Steel BBs performed better in the velocity department. I saw no real difference in accuracy using the Black Diamonds but they may have been a tad better in accuracy as well. However, I don't buy BB pistols for competition shooting. They are for plinking so have fun and don't dwell on hair-splitting a few feet per second. This is a great gun to enjoy just for the look and feel and it is just fun to shoot. I'm glad I bought it. I think you will enjoy it too.
Solid gun. Enjoy the blow back.
Things I Would Have ChangedPut a white dot on the front sight. My eyesight isn't the best and the added focal point would be nice. Nothing a little white paint won't correct.
Same size and approximate weight as my Beretta Model 81. ( Difference between model 81 and 84 in Beretta is model 81 is in 7.65 / .32 ACP, model 84 is in .380 ACP & Trigger guard configuration.) Operating features and take down realistic. All metal with good finish. Smooth opperation , excellent accuracy. Great little plinker for practice.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt deffenently needs the Double Action on the first shot DA/SA action along with a metal hammer. Other than those things, it is right-on.
What Others Should KnowOrder an extra magazine or two for practicing magazine reloading. Plus you never know when one may break.
Nothing
Things I Would Have ChangedSmoother trigger pull. Easier loading magazine
What Others Should KnowThe reloaded is not much. bbs bridge up and dont feed.
It's all metal with the same feel as the real iron. Quite accurate and great blowback. Easy to load magazine and one piece mag for both the c02 and BBS. Great price too!
Things I Would Have ChangedWhite dot sights would be nice and a metal hammer instead of plastic.
What Others Should KnowThis is a nice replica of the real steel, I would highly recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a quality bb pistol.
