Description

We've provided a lot of info about the Benjamin Armada Magpul air rifle, and you have a lot to digest. But here's the bottom line: It's based on the already-proven Benjamin Marauder action.

Crosman has taken a wonderfully accurate and reliable repeating air rifle (the Marauder) and transformed it into a great black rifle. Plus, the added benefits of Magpul AR-style gear have kicked it up a couple notches. "Cool" doesn't even come close to describing the end result of these upgrades!

One of the nicest features? All those Picatinny rails! If you like loading up your gun with tactical flashlights, lasers, bubble levels and more, you've got the rail space to do it.

You no longer have to think about protecting a wood stock or getting the right hunting scope. It comes with one -- plus a sturdy metal bipod. Since the rifle with scope, mount and bipod weigh a bit over 10 lbs., take a load off by attaching a sling.

Filling your Benjamin Armada Magpul air rifle to no more than 2,600 psi (179 bar) may deliver the greatest accuracy. We recommend trying different fill levels between 2000 and 3000 psi to determine the optimum fill level for your own rifle. Each gun is different. A chronograph is the best way to determine optimum fill levels for precharged pneumatics (PCPs).

Most PCPs require 2,900-3,000 psi air pressure. You can run it on high-pressure air from 2,000 to 3,000 psi by making the adjustments shown in the owner's manual.

The owner's manual states this about fill pressures:
"The Armada Magpul has been factory set to an efficient fill pressure that will suit most hunting and target uses."

If you're left-handed and need the bolt moved to the left side of the rifle, please add that optional service to your cart when you buy your gun.

If you prefer to shoot your rifle single-shot (to get the most accuracy from it), remember to buy an Air Venturi single-shot adapter.

First Pyramydair has been OUTSTANDING!!! I purchased this rifle after through review of all information I could find. It has FAR exceeded all the reviews I read or watched. Mine is a 22 caliber model. I filled it to 3000lbs of air and started testing it out. Shot like a dream. Right out of the box I got 40 strong shots and still had 2100lbs of air left. 50 brought it down to 1800lbs. 60 down to 1500lbs. That is when the power started to fall off but the accuracy remained through 70 shots and 1200lbs. I have now seasoned my rifle with approximately 1500-2000 shots and it is now giving up 80 strong shots using less air with H&N 21.14 grain match and power pellets. My groupings are consistently a dime to a quarter size shooting 30-50 yard shots!!! OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE! I'm stoked.....

Not much!!! Price could be a little lower, ALWAYS, but in my case you get what you pay for, and I certainly received a quality rifle. I would suggest offering an illuminated scope with the bundle package, but I have had great performance with the Centerpoint 4X16X44 scope offered.

Yes this rifle is a bit pricey, but you are paying for the AR profile. Do consider getting an illuminated scope. Sweet spot on range appears to be 40 yards and best shots are achieved between 2800-2200 lbs of air using H&N Match grade 21.14 pellets. The JSB Jumbo Exact 18.xx pellets shoot great as well but being lighter, they rise a little more.
Also, buy the 22cal.!

Size, weight, feel, LOOKS. I work with ARs regularly. Love to shoot still. Live rounds and a lot of lead keep you confined to the range. This thing is a backyard blast. I anticipated it being louder than my Gamo Bone Collector. So quiet though and zero recoil. Beautiful hardware. The fact that the barrel has some play inside hand guard means nothing. Dead accurate. H&N barracuda rounds will spin .22 rim fire rifle target with ease. First time paying for ammo, but it's dirt cheap anyway. An MK4 pump will do the trick, but i bought several extra mags, a shoebox, and a tank. I'd rather spend time shooting than pumping. If you like the look of the black gun you will love this.

Price is a bit up. You could buy your own parts and swap, but it's nice to get it ready to go.

You'll get lots of questions from whoever sees it.

Great styling, quality construction, versatile, adjustable length of pull, KeyMod fore end for multiple bipod mounting locations & sling mount, great trigger once adjusted, great power once adjusted, picatinny rail for optics. I've had mine for about 6 months now and have tried all the popular pellets out of this rifle. The JSB 18 grain match pellets in 5.52 head size are the magic pellet for this rifle. I'm grouping about 3/4" at 60 yards consistently with an occasional flier. They crony about 920 FPS on a full fill and I can get about 25-30 shots before the power falls off. No other pellet groups as tight as these JSB's. I have about 20 different types of pellets from all the major manufacturers and nothing compares.

Have Green Mountain make the .22 barrel as they do the .25's. Its annoying that this rifle is as pellet fussy as it is, but it shoots tight after lots of experimenting with other pellets.

After tuning the power up a little and adjusting the trigger, this thing shoots well. I shot a turkey at 70 yards and dropped it with one shot to the chest. Unless you're stuck on the looks of the Armada, get the Marauder in .25 cal & enjoy better accuracy with a variety of different pellets. Not that this rifle is a slouch, but it could be more accurate & not so finicky with pellets.

Gary--Pyramyd is not selling THIS gun on eBay for $729. They're selling this less-expensive version of the Armada on eBay (same price as this website).

gary Jun 17, 2015

pyramyd air is selling this on ebay for 729 . shame on you

Wolfgang May 07, 2015

I already own a 25 cal. Benjamin M rod, so I'm not willing to lay out another $1000 just for another 25 cal. Benjamin needs to get busy producing this Armada in a .357 cal. version like their Bulldog. Now we're talkin'.

Finish and feel, Bipod, Accuracy,Quiet with proper pellets!

Have scope in another package deal or be optional to reduce price a small amount.

I used a UTG 3x12x44 SWAT Accushot scope with Crosman 14.3 Hollow Points and found it very easy to land pellets in bullseye after only a few click adjustments. Easily the quickest sighting in I have done! This is well worth the extra $.

Very nice looking and firing gun with some cool extras

Offer it with a scope that is useful. It should have a peg for a sling on the butt end

The scope works on low power but can't get a clear image with crosshairs on higher power. Very disappointed

Bill--The person's name submitting the comment is strangely separated from the actual comment. It's listed above the comment made but looks like it's attached to the comment listed above it. So Bill, not Matthew, is attached to your previous comment.

I Purchased the the leapers AO wheel and shaved a little rubber off the back edge of the formed "gasket" and it fits the centerpoint scope just fine. FIts just as well as my the one I have on my leapers 3-12x44 Swat scope on a different gun.

Geno Jan 29, 2015

look at picture 4

Geno Jan 29, 2015

the stock has 3 places molded into it on the very bottom, butt, and the angled section for placing a sling

Dean Jan 23, 2015

call up Pyramyd air and ask them for the sling that will fit the ARMADA.I bought one and it fits great, you can order a 4in.wheel for the A O adjustment threw crosman, fits good, don`t use rubber piece it won`t fit with it,that`s for another scope with a smaller A O nob.Less then 25.00 with shipping.

The style of the gun.I modded out a p-rod,just like it two years ago,and I love it,this is the big daddy of it.

Sell the gun without the scope, they put a low quality scope on a great gun,it should sell for $700 or $800 without the scope

My Armada is 5-7 yds off on the a-o on the scope, numbers on scope don`t match up with the distance you are shooting. The gun is a TACK DRIVER with a Hawke panorama EV 4-12x50 IR EV HK5167

Dean Jan 16, 2015

Yea! wolfeman That`s was my very first one I tried, shoots great in all my other guns,I couldn`t believe,my eyes,I kept trying over and over and it`s A no go for my gun,yea the 18.1 JSB`s is one of the best pellets out there!!!

wolfeman Jan 16, 2015

Dean, give the 18.1g JSBs a try. They're the best .22 cal medium weights I've ever used. They're all I shoot through my FX Verminator.

Dean Jan 12, 2015

I have tried out 10 or 12 different pellets in my armada the best 3 were crosman premier- in the tin, will try out the premiers in the box at a later date. The next was the h&n baracuda match 5.51 head size & the h&n baracuda match 5.52 head size, they were all pretty much the same on those 3 pellets I kept tring different ones, because the crosman was one of the first three that I shot, maybe the crosman in the box might win out,and i got one more that is copper plated to do yet!!!

Beautiful gun! My first PCP and I am very happy. It seems to be very well constructed and just screams AWESOME. Seems to be vey accurate at 60 yards. Ver very very quiet gun...... AMAZING!!!

Not a thing.

This gun is fairly heavy and not really designed for hiking around and "shouldering" it for quick shots.

Jeremiah Mar 29, 2015

JSB EXACT 18,13 grains. That is what I use Ace or Dean or whoever wants to know.

Dean Jan 12, 2015

Hey!Ace So what this pellet that your using, please let us all know!

Jeremiah Jan 03, 2015

I am hitting screw heads consistently at 60 yards. I LOVE THIS GUN!!!

Great looking and feeling gun. Handles nice. The trigger isn't great but with some adjustment it would be great for an air gun. Power seams to be pretty good. Shot through 1 3/4" of a phone book. The scope seems to be fairly well made. This gun is QUIET, all I hear is the air valve opening and a little puff out the end of the barrel. And lastly the gun is MADE IN AMERICA

Better scope rings(the included rings have a nylon liner in the bottom of the rings that I and confused about, Good rings shouldn't need any padding to make up for defects in craftsmanship). A little stiffer barrel, if you put any pressure on the barrel at all it will easily move

This is my first PCP and I am happy with it so far. As soon as the weather gets a little better I will see how accurate it is. The gun was fairly easy to pump up to 3000 psi with the hand pump. I don't think i will be buying a tank. No real need for it unless you hate a little bit of exercise. only took about 7 minutes to pump it up from 500 PSI to FULL.

Jeff Jan 05, 2016

The nylon on the rings is better hold the scope without marking it up, its not to make up for defects in craftsmanship, I actually think it's nice that they care about their product enough to add the little extra things like that. Also the barrel moves slightly because its has a "floating barrel" just like the marauder does. The barrel floating like that helps with accuracy. Don't worry about it, it only moves slightly and when pressure is removed from it, it will spring back to center. I try and not store mine with it leaning on it but it probably wouldn't hurt it anyway.

Knot Yew--I just checked Crosman's site, and at this time they do not list the Armada Magpul as being made or assembled in the U.S. The Magpul accessories, however, are made in the U.S., as stated on Magpul's website.

Ft.Wendy Feb 10, 2015

thank you for the closest thing to a review of the rifle on this website to date. I'd have a full ten page report on this thing if i could get my hands on one. i just can't justify spending that kind of money. even if i was rollin' in it.

Kenneth Jan 24, 2015

and i can't belive how quiet this rifle is. back yard friendly to say the least. has anyone tried the marauder pellet tray in this?

Kenneth Jan 24, 2015

well I have shot it quite a bit now and so have the kids. I love it. The kids would need the tank to fill it. They don't weigh enough to push the hand pump. The China scope works and holds zero but could be a little clearer at high magnification. My gun doesn't seem to be very finicky with pellets out to about 25-35 yards. I will get the crono out soon and see what preasure it really likes but from 2900 to 1900 it makes everyone that shoots it smile. We will see how the scope works out after using it for awhile. Great for a first PCP. I think I need the pistol now to match!

Knot Yew Jan 16, 2015

Brian, while it's true that some of the break barrels are made in China, the PCP guns such as this, the Marauder and the Discovery are made - made, not just assembled - in the USA. Some accessories such as scopes are made in China. If you don't believe it, come the NERFT event in the summer at Crosman, take the tour and see for yourself.

Dean Jan 12, 2015

The little box that the bipod came in say`s scope and bipod made in China!!!

JRG Dec 30, 2014

However, the Benjamin Marauder as well as Armada are in fact made in the USA, not just assembled.

Brian Dec 16, 2014

Just a side note on your excellent review. Crosman/Benjamin products are not made in American. The vast majority of their products are only assembled in America.
