Equipped with the new Sound-Loc suppressor!
Power! Up to 1000 fps (in .177). Accuracy! 1" at 50 yards. NO recoil! Built in the USA, the Talon SS pre-charged pneumatic air rifle is for serious shooting. Field target, hunting, punching paper targets, shooting spinners and plinking are all perfect for the Talon SS...because it does everything so well! The easy-to-use power-adjust wheel takes your rifle from 400 fps to 1000 fps. You decide how much power you want and when you want it. If you're shooting field target...dial it down. Hunting...dial it up.
From its Lothar Walther barrel (1:16 twist) to its removable air tank, the Talon SS is the standard for state-of-the-art manufacturing of pre-charged pneumatics. Made of space-age polymers and aircraft-grade aluminum, the AirForce Talon SS is lightweight and equipped with a durable finish.
The removable 490cc air tank (DOT-certified) can be filled with a hand pump, scuba tank or electric compressor to 3000 psi (206 bar) for lots of shots without a refill. The tank does double-duty as the butt of the gun, contributing to its light weight and convenience. The tank has a pressure-release valve for additional safety.
Thanks to the new Spin-Loc tank and collar, you don't have to remove the gun's air reservoir to fill it. Of course, if you want to, you can remove it easily and attach another one. Carrying an extra filled tank when shooting in the field is a lot easier than carrying a scuba or carbon fiber tank for refills.
Not sure which caliber to get? Get all of them! Extra barrels are available, and change-outs are quick and easy and don't require any special tools.
The Talon SS is the same basic rifle as the Talon, but an integral suppressor and a 12" barrel are standard. The shorter barrel makes it slightly lighter than the Talon, and the integral suppressor seriously reduces the report.

Things I Would Have ChangedA longer buttpad extension
What Others Should KnowSuper accurate, with any pellet or slug

The gun is a tac driver with most pellets, I’ve been shooting it for years now with no flaws. The big bottle let’s me target shoot & pest all day . With the the removable bottle you are able to have multiple for a quick change . It has ALOT of aftermarket parts so you could make it into exactly what you want! I’ve used break barrels for years before so the single load doesn’t bother me at all. All in all it’s an excellent AirGun & worth the money. Biggest perks with the gun is a lot of air, Very customizable, being able to interchange calibers, Fun , Powerful & accurate!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger takes a bit to get used to , it’s a pretty solid trigger just thick.
What Others Should KnowIt’s a BIG bottle so either have the energy to pump it up for awhile with a good hand pump or get ready to invest into a electric pump.
Great gun. Great feel, delivered everything I was hoping for. Trigger, filling, shooting, adjusting is all above par. Definitely enjoy this item.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake a taller sight rail. I am using 1 inch tall rings and they're still a little short. Have to adjust how I look through the scope. Be nice to have a multi shot magazine. Plastic on the grips is just okay.
What Others Should KnowI purchased this and a Marauder. This has been like night and day in comparison. The fit, form, and function far exceed the marauder. The whole reason to have the marauder was the multi shot and within the 60 day period, the feeding was already jamming. The Talon has been much more reliable and accurate for me. Plus it has higher shot counts with more power due to the larger air cylinder. Happy with the lifetime warranty and it's a well CNCd piece. Would definitely purchase again. It would be interesting to shoot this and an FX or similar priced gun.
This gun deserves a good clarity scope. I ended up putting a Vortex Crossfire II 9x40 on it and it's exciting to shoot.
This rifle was easy to tune and is very accurate for the price.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger doesn’t suit this rifle. It’s something worth upgrading.
What Others Should KnowThis .177 Talon shoots Predator poly mags and JSB’s under an inch at 50 yards.
This is essentially a maintenance free gun that will last you the rest of your life. I've had one since 2004 and it has killed enough critters to fill the Titanic! I now have the gun regulated, as well. Check my YouTube channel for videos on how to add a regulator (Air Shootist). I just took 2 huge squirrels today with it using the HN Hunter Extreme pellets .... at 50 yards! The simple elegance of this design is timeless. This really is one of the best airguns ever made, and I'm glad it is still in production.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt could use a regulator and 4500psi tank. I have one on it now but used it for like 16 years standard. Other than that, the gun is perfect.
What Others Should KnowEven with a 12" barrel this gun is EXTREMELY accurate, easily capable of taking squirrels at 50 yards and even further. It likes the 21gr HN Barracuda pellets as well as the Hunter Extremes.
This gun will last you a lifetime.
Got it because I thought it was a slick looking Airgun , Love how many upgrades and aftermarket parts you can get for it. This thing never misses & not pellet fussy. Its back yard friendly & being able to have a spare air tank has me shooting all day. Love this gun!
Things I Would Have ChangedAt times I wish it had some type of magazine, but Im used to single loading break-barrels so its really not that bad for me
What Others Should KnowThere is an upgrade for everything for this Airgun
I like the simplicity and durability of this air rifle. With a Talon Tunes moderator on it this rifle is whisper quiet. Even without the after market moderator it is still a quiet air gun.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe forearm is a little small but I could live with it. However, I swapped out the OEM forearm for the larger Buck-Rail forearm and it's a lot more comfortable to hold.
What Others Should KnowI put a daylight scope on it then switched to a Burris thermal scope for night hunting. That combination did not disappoint me, My write up for the first experience of hunting with a thermal is here: https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=194628.0 At first I used a MagPul bipod which was fastened to the bottom rail with the dovetail to picatinny adapter. Then I switched to the new AirForce carbon bipod which was so much better. There is no need for the picatinny adapter now. I find that the most accurate pellets are the JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo .22 Cal, 15.89 Grains. The nice thing about using the thermal scope or any other brand of night vision is that most of them allow for the use of different "profiles" or "models" when it comes to which ammunition to use. In other words, I have this rifle zeroed in at 50 yards with the JSB pellets. I can select another profile in the scopes menu without the need to re-zero the rifle with another pellet or slug.
The Talon SS is next step up from entry level. The system for changing barrels and bottles is unique and well thought out.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe spin lock wrench is difficult to keep engaged and if not lined up perfectly does not thread well. A multi shot magazine would be nice.
What Others Should KnowI purchased the .177model and ordered the .22 barrel. That where my problem began.
I received the barrel and there are no instructions included. So I sent out to the AirForce web site and found nothing. Really!!
I then went to YouTube and found some help. Nothing said about the baffles. The problem is with the barrel baffles. No where does it say the .177 baffles are only for the .177. If you order a barrel you must have baffles for .22. Note the .22 baffles work with the .20, .22, and .25 barrels. Seems like baffles should be included with the barrel. I had to call AirForce direct to clear up the problem. The rifle requires (3) baffles at a cost of $19.95 each.
My advise to AirForce is include barrel changes in the user manual. If you mention this, and you do, in sales literature as a feature, then include all support documents with the gun.
My gun did not come with the support DVD as advertised.

this thing is a tank of an air rifle. I got the red Talon SS in 25 caliber and I only shoot the JSB King pellets (tested H&N and some others but nothing was as good as the Kings) normally I would do a full shot string over the chronograph to see how many shots per fill im getting and all that good stuff, not for this gun. it seems that so long as there's more than 1500-1600 PSI in the tank the pellets are going exactly where I want them. the build quality is excellent, the fit and finish of the gun is top notch, and its not overly heavy so that's always a plus for us hunters.
Things I Would Have ChangedI have to really nitpick to come up with a con so here it is, the neoprene pad on the air tank occasionally catches on my beard. other than that I can't really think of anything negative to say about this gun.
What Others Should Knowif you're looking for a reliable, accurate, plenty powerful, pretty high shot count, and light airgun, check this one out. these things will last forever if you take care of them, probably even if you don't take care of them. full disclosure, mine (along with my other Airforce Airgun) has been living in the trunk of my car for the past few months, when I need a pest animal removed from my yard, I grab the gun and go with 0 issues at all. ignore the Specs sheet, im shooting the 25.39gr Kings at 815-825 FPS (actual extreme spread) so the gun is plenty powerful for all small game animals and definitely target shooting. since I purchased mine I have humanely taken 3 woodchucks, countless starlings (stopped counting at 35 in a weekend) and even a pigeon at 121.3 yards. If you're looking at this gun, just get it.
