Description

The Benjamin Gunnar PCP Air Rifle is a versatile rifle with tactical attributes that delivers premium features and the performance to match. With velocities up to 1000 FPS in .22 and 900 FPS in .25 and power up to 32 FPE in .22 and 50 FPE in .25, this airgun is proficient at both small-game hunting and target shooting.

Shooters will find multiple adjustments and features that make the air rifle flexible enough to do what they need, with a 5-position external power adjuster, adjustable regulator, and adjustable trigger shoe. In addition, the buttstock is compatible with AR platform components and includes a 4-way adjustable cheekpiece, and the textured pistol grip is also AR-compatible.

In order to yield quiet shots that help to maintain stealth when hunting, it utilizes a shrouded barrel and integrated sound suppression. To add comfort and aid in maintaining a firm and repeatable hold on the air rifle, the rubber buttpad is ridged, and the 12-round (.22) or 10-round (.25) magazine provides ample time between reloads.

For adding a scope, this air rifle offers a Picatinny optics rail, and it also includes a Picatinny accessory rail on the bottom that can accommodate shooting stabilizers such as monopods and bipods. It features a convenient sidelever for quick and simple cocking, and an integrated fill gauge to monitor the pressure of the 500cc bottle to help it fill to 3000 PSI smoothly.

For a supremely functional air rifle with multiple adjustable features that is adept at target shooting and small-game hunting, get the Benjamin Gunnar PCP Air Rifle from Pyramyd AIR now.

Gunnar has a smooth action with loading pellets. Held plenty of air for 60 plus shots .22. This gun is quiet- even more so than my HW97k.

Buttstock needs to be secured, mag quality is lacking , better finish on gun to keep from scratching, relocate fill port - place cover on fill port. Update your manual- very basic.

The barrel is easily scratched, the mags are cheaply made, fill port no cover, buttstock rattles and not secure, heavy, but just fine for the bench or hunting. If 50.00 more were spent in production this gun would have been amazing! Lastly, the action on my gun was left open and shipped that way, the padding was torn as if it had been used for years. Stuff like this kills me!

Out of the box all working as expected. With JSB MKII 33.95 pellets getting just under 48 FPE. I'm in S. Utah and it's windy and I'm getting quarter size groupings at 25 and 50 yards and half dollar groups at 75. Going to try to tune it to around 55 and see if I can stretch it to 75-85 yards reliably.

This is my 1st PCP. The buttstock wobbles a little bit but that's it.

The FX 33.95, hades, and h&N barracuda hunter work great as well. In fact this gun loves all the pellets I tried.

me Jun 23, 2024

3 weeks of on and off tuning and while I was able to get the FX 34 grain up to 58.07 FPE, I settled in at 57.15 FPE (velocity 870) using 2 1.3mm washers and 2 3mm washers for a total of 8.6mm and a weight of 11.442 grams and a reg adjustment up to 2250 PSI(from factory 1900). This cut the useable shot count to 25 but I'll take this until some tuning kit is available. No valve lock. 1.5 inch spread at 100 yards. Did try some zan 33.5 slugs which are too heavy but they do pass thru a 3/4" plywood at 100 yards. They also allow me to stretch to 125 yards when the wind permits (but not consistent). Goal was to use it for coyotes no more than 85 yards out. Waiting on lighter slugs to test. When you remove the buttstock there's a pin (like a woodruff key) that is supposed to keep the buttstock from moving and I believe it's not sized properly for the hole and that causes the wobbling. I may put red locktight on the threads at some point.

me May 31, 2024

Ran 300-400 hundred pellets thru at this point since my small town range is rarely used (gotta love small towns). Anyway, under 3 inch groups at 100 with both fx 33.95 and jsb mkII and hades (which suprised me) with no tuning which I will do this week. Still liking this gun. Baracuda extreme hunter ended up being the pellet this gun hates over 50 yards - they were all over the place.

Look cool

The accessory rail is flimsy so bipod flexes up and down. The trigger sucks. It has a lot of creep and does not have a crisp break. Huge disappointment. The stock has some wiggle in it due to the sliding length adjustment. I’d rather have a fixed stock. Also, the gun is hard to shoot with a squeeze bag because there is nothing to put the bag under. This could be fixed with a traditional fixed stock.

Overall the gun is just ok. Accuracy seems to be pretty good if you find a pellet it likes. And unfortunately there is no tuning information, that I can find, anywhere on the net. I would love to read some articles on what people have found works the best, but there is almost nothing. Maybe after a couple years there will be more info. I have a Marauder that I absolutely love. With the price, I guess I was expecting something even better than than the marauder, but honestly I think the marauder is a way better buy. Maybe I’ll change my mind after shooting this gun a little more.

I have another review here. I grew in four weeks to like the .25 rifle. It did have a defect though and went back to the factory who found and fixed it and it is headed back to me. The degas screw did not work for them or me. The product manager took it apart and found the factory in Turkey did not install the degas port receiver correctly and it was jammed in such a way it did not work. They replaced it and now it works fine and is headed to me. All warranty work. I like the gun. The .25 I have with a 25-28 grain pellet actually packs a pretty good wallop pretty accurately at what I would guess is fifty yards. Could it use a little more power? Perhaps, but mine seems fine for my needs at the price I paid new for it.

the real price point for this gun is not the manufacturers suggest list of around
$1000 but at just over $700 it is about right for what you get.

For an AR .25 it shot well enough...

The stock is flimsy, wobbles, the Gass bleed screw did not bleed air. I just don't like the a.r style. I like the Benjamin marauder .22 I have with traditional wood stock and am mothballing the Gunnar in favor of a jst Airacuda Max wood stock..better build all over for less money and equally or more accurate

Gun is over priced even on sale

Lance Apr 20, 2024

Product manager at the Velocity factory also could not make the de gas screw work so took it apart and the valving for the degas was installed from the turkish factory incorrectly. They ordered a new valve, tested, shipped it back to me. It now works as advertised and I am in the process of sighting the remounted scope back in on it. It goes exactly where I point it. I read a review that said it was 700 fps and not a good gun. My reaction owning five other pcps is the owner did not have any of the settings on the rifle right. My experience is for the just over $700 it is about right at that price and could be a good varmint gun in the .25 I have. I like it. Have not tried slugs through it yet.

Lance Apr 05, 2024

April 5..it went back to the factory on warranty where it is now as the degas screw simply does not degas on mine. Since it is warranted they took it back and either will fix it or ship me a new one that works. Waiting on them as the gun arrived back there late Wed. in Ny. Gun is make in Turkey by Kral for them. I can find no other examples online where the de gas screw did not work so it may be a one off with debris or something from the factory in the bottle that clogged the de gas port. TBD. Waiting on the answer and the respons. I have been treated fairly by Benjamin to this point but I don't have a gun I came to like in the first four weeks as it shoots quite well once used to the style.

Lance Mar 15, 2024

I have worked with the gun since writing this review and overcome my unfamiliarity with the a.r. style gun. I managed to stabilize the stock and have shot some quite good groups with the .25 single pellet Benjamin 25 grain pellets at my short range range...nickel sized groups in a wind. The gun is more substantial than I first thought though it kind of takes a different bench rest setup than my Jts rifles and Benjamin Marauder rifles do. All in all I would now give it a four star rating as it goes exactly where you point it.

Only thing I like about this gun is the looks

This is a very low end air rifle
Will not shot what they spec. I shot mid 700's ft per sec. No where near 50 ft lbs, and the only pellet it will shot accurate is a 34 grain FX pellet.

Michael Mar 13, 2024

Usually when they give the max fps, they usually test them with the lightest pellets, what were you shooting out of it would be helpful in your review

Alot to like for the money. Well made and easy to tune without disassembly. Replace the barrel with a Karal barrel... for more efficient use of air and increased velocity... a direct fit, regulator delivered ES of 9 & SD of 2 in my sample.

Bottom Picatinny rail is attached with 1 screw, potential weak point.

Fun to shoot and AR platform compatibility allows for unlimited customization.

I find the trigger guard roomy ,the stock adjustments good, Pic rail solid & quiet shooting . I doubt I'll add a LDC. Not pellet picky & pretty accurate (@ 40yrds ). Very smooth side lever action. Foster fitting for filling & regulated w/ adjustable power. Nice case.

Now ,,, I believe a fully adjustable trigger is appropriate. It's just ok for me . The case is nice but ,,, I received it w/ a tear on both sides, one from the fill nozzle clear through to the plastic. The fill port is extremely vulnerable & NO cover or screen in it !! Come on, we're told "clean dry air, filter ,filter, filter ! Heck foam from the case could make it's way into the gun ! I ordered a fill nipple ahead based on some pro reviews I read. The fill nipple should be screened & could be angled like some grease zerks are to protect it and the case. The stock is a bit of a rattler but it's what it is. The under rail is "springy" unless you stay close to the trigger, I saw half the clearance to air tank gone upon mounting scope w/ my Caldwell bipod on setting on the bench and it's a medium weight scope. Give me a carbon fiber tank, external hammer spring & regulator adjustments ,please !!

I had another brand gun that cost the same . It had issues that caused me to contact PA customer service about .I returned it. ( Read my Factor CF review) We discussed the issues , fixes & compared guns. I settled begrudgingly on the Gunnar. Several others have some of the issues w/ both guns . Dollar for dollar I believe the Hatsan is a better unit as for as adjusting things IF they can tweak the issues. At the asking $$$ of the Gunnar , to add the same stuff , you are in the FX, AA 's playing field . I will get by w/ the Benjamin for now. If this were a machine, an automobile or firearm , there would probably be recalls for updates & retro-fitting :) Rant over , thanks for listening !

The Air Venturi fill probe cap fits nicely , I recommend getting one.
